  • oh no..

  • at the end of the day the british and F1 world should thank a NEW ZEALANDER by the name of BRUCE MCLAREN for the most sucssesful F1 team in history, for it was his dream and aspiration that formed MCLAREN in many catagories of motor sport!

  • @ silentchaos. EXACTLY!! FINALLY someone who has the same stance on that.

cannot stand Bugatti. its junk. The Veyron is over 15 years newer than the McLaren and with all the technology we have today, Bugatti is struggling to meet the standards the F1 GT,GTR,and LM have set 15 years ago in the mid 90's people. i mean, for fucks sake, how would Ettore Bugatti feel now if he knew his Italian company was owned by Volkswagen?

  • i have this exact car on forza 3, same paintjob and everything. I feel cool.

  • i hate bugatti alot

  • best car ever.

  • fuck EV's. this is what dreams is made of. !

these car's should be more sacred then god.

  • blah blah this that the other. watch it or leave it.

  • powered by BMW :)

  • Simply the best car of all time. I love this piece of shit...

  • Mclaren F1 GTR "Longtail" = best supercar of all times

  • Fuck a Bugatti that bitch is hideous and it needs 4 more cylinders and 4 turbos just to go 10 MPH faster then a N/A V12

  • @silentchaos1

yeah i total agree with you.

germans don't know how to engineer shit.

Formula 1 cars are also British engineering. and they go 0-100 and back down to 0 in 3 seconds.

  • @BKsMassive

What are you talking about? F1 cars aren't "british". The engine in the Mclaren F1 also happens to be a BMW engine...

  • @Plur307

99% of Formula one cars are designed in Britain or By British people. Fact.

and the BMW engine is shit. they put that engine into the BMW S70 (the engine in the mclaren ) was later put into a BMW 850Csi but that car only did 160MPH. the mclaren F1 does 240 MPH. off the same engine.

so will all you Nazi fucking bastards stfu about the bwm engine! its a piece of shit!

  • @BKsMassive You're an idiot and you're not doing the rest of us British motor racing fans any favours. Take your xenophobia and go and play in a darkend room all by yourself.

  • @BKsMassive

Where the hell are you getting that statistic? Link please..

  • @BKsMassive everything about this car is perfect, including the BMW engine. Although if they had used a Honda engine as they originally planned I'm sure it would still be perfect. I bet Honda were like oh shit if we knew you were gonna do that with it we would've said yes!

  • @RelaxItsJustAFlare hell yeah

  • @BKsMassive BMW has great engines, and everything McLaren do,is covered by Germans, best engineers ever....So you stfu

  • @5ky5tr1d3r

lmao. Nothing. Mclaren do is covered by anyone german.

things mclaren mercedes does it covered by germans.

  • @BKsMassive Ahm... yea right, it doesn't say "powered by BMW" on the side of the car or anything, NOO

  • @mustachos1993

so EVERYONE who works in bmw is german? lmao you crack me up noob.

British man made the engine for BMW. then BMW never used it so they put it into the Mclaren.

  • @BKsMassive That's not right ...

Paul Rosche, German, was the design chief for both the S70/2 as well as the M10 and later the M3 E30 engine.

The engine (with similarities to the M3/E36) was build specifically for McLaren by BMW ... later BMW also used the same engine in LM/LMR and the X5 LeMan (which upped the power to 750hp, from 627hp in McLaren. In LM/LMR I think the power output was 550hp due to regulations).

You might be mixing him with the British poet by the same name?

  • @silentchaos1 20+ mph. Which is a lot actually. 0-20 isn't too bad and doesn't require too much horsepower but as you go faster you need more and more horsepower. That last 20mph from 240 to 260 believe it or not is 200+ horsepower. So that accounts for why the veyron is loaded with turbos...it needs it for that extra boost. Not to mention the weight difference.

  • @LordTyrannus Whatever the McLaren is 19 years old and a much better car, its running a naturally aspirated V12 from 1992 and your saying that Bugatti needed a W16 with 4 turbos just to go a little bit faster?

The Mclaren F1 is the greatest car ever made period.

  • @silentchaos1

Yeah, maybe you haven't heard, but there is this thing called physics...as you go faster and faster the wind speed increases. Thus the faster you go the harder if becomes to cut through the air. At mclaren f1 240mph speeds the air is really thick...so try to imagine how thick the air would get at 260 mph. And I also mentioned the weight difference between the cars too also factors into the equation.

Go look up drag physics on wiki.

  • @LordTyrannus LOL wow somebody needs a life. That's high school shit son

  • @silentchaos1

If it's high school shit you should have known about if before responding. Unless you're an idiot, but I'm not going to go that far.

I'm not saying the Bugatti is in any way better than a Mclaren, and anyway top speed isn't what you should be comparing anyway. The qualities of the Mclaren like lightweight design, carbon-fibre body, central seating position, sound, style, and more...those are the things that make it better than a Veyron.

  • @silentchaos1 the air resistance of that extra ten miles an hour at those speeds is ALOT (I don't claim to know how much exactly. but in any case I prefer the engineering behind the mclaren, much more passionate, much more beautiful.

  • @silentchaos1 That 10MPH requires a ridiculous amount of power. You have no idea how air resistance works do you? Just go ahead and speak out of your ass.

In any case, a basic explanation for a simpleton such as yourself: There's a physics formula which states that when you double your speed, you quadruple the air resistance; hence all the extra power needed to go 10MPH faster.

  • @turtlehater2 lol suck my dick bitch, go clean your acne covered face

  • @silentchaos1 at that speed you need that kind of power to be faster.

  • @silentchaos1 You know that if you understood physics you would realize that 10MPH more at 250MPH-ish speeds is a huge difference. It takes an amazing effort for the car to get that fast because the air is like soup going that fast.

  • @vitiablecascade So what? It a massive upgrade in headware, with more than 10 years seperating it from the McLaren. It's just pathetic. The Veyron is a disgrace to the car industry. It uses computers t odrive the car, so the driver is barely in control. And on top of that, the Veyron is incredibly ugly to look at. I would't mind if the reason for its looks was the result of aerodynamic design, but it isn't. The car is just butt ugly. While the McLaren was innovative, the Veyron is not.

  • @silentchaos1 you don't know much about annything do you

  • @perbor24 you don't get rich not knowing anything :)

  • @silentchaos1 so?

  • haha c qui losti depais qui dit que cest une saleen s7 ?? hahaha

  • I love the way this McLaren Looks! How fast are these cars??? How come i can't win races with this in Granturismo 4???. It feels slow!

  • Didn't it crash during a race?

  • That's how i'm going to drive to work every day...

  • Im in love

  • THE MCLAREN LOOKS SO GOOD IN ANY OF ITS VARIANTS LM GT ETC

  • even the dog stare at the car.

  • I am V-12 hear me roar 0:27

  • i've already heared it in real life on front of the bmw welt in munich.

it's so horrible loud but as awesome as nothing else!

    incredible car!!!

  • if the car ever comes up missing it was probobly me. and wow id do anything for it

  • man that so looks lik my hot wheel

  • HAH, hey Jim lets back this thing out, ok lets grab it by the wing cuz i dont wanna bend my back even a degree

  • long tail is looooong

  • thats not a mclaren thats a mosler

  • BMW ///M POWER

  • even the dog likes it

  • thats defenetly not a car

  • i like how the doors open..

  • Longtali GTR FTW

  • bugatti who ????????????????

  • damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

  • Damn, it sound similar to that of Mazda Furai which have a rotary O.o

    How come?

I mean, the engine is a little shaky like it want's to go all out at higher revs.

    It's nice, i like it!

  • Damn, it sound similar to that of Mazda Furai which have a rotary O.o

    How come?

  • i own and drive that car all the time!!!!......in forza 3...lol

  • can i please have sex with this car....and get to keep the baby??

  • Nossa é tão forte que nem consegue ficar na marcha lenta fica embaralhando isso é motor!!!!!!

  • hmm realy looks like a saleen to me,agree?

  • @tudy000 , No not really , well only a tinny little bit , but this car is the Mclaren F1 GTR long tail from 1997 , its the racing version of the road car.

The GTR means it is the racing car version and in 1997 they added the extra long tail on to the rear , before 1997 the Mclaren F1 GTR's were short tail versions

  • fuckin love tht !

  • That´s no car. That´s porn. Yummy.

  • For the sake of keeping my spine intact, I would prefer the Veyron, but for pure fun and a sense of adrenaline, it's McLaren all the way.

  • awesome!

  • that car is so fucking nice

  • I don't like the longtail

  • I just came...

  • Wow, love this car...

  • i would like to see what Mclaren can do with the newer generation of chevy engines like back in the day when they were dominating Can-Am

  • Id pay a whole years salary just to be able to drive that down the highway

  • Faster than this one?!? I don't think so

  • i just jizzed

  • Is it on straight pipes? I hate the design and how the car is not aesthethically pleasing but god damn that near F1 song is to die for.

  • Cool car, but I like the Ferrari F40 better.

  • why does it look like a clk gtr?

  • @St8Solja its the LM

  • Warning : This car is for " Real Drivers " only !

  • wow it cannot beat the ccx8

  • Life isent fair ..

Were is my McLaren F1 ??

  • wouldn't it be great if replica kit cars for this came out?

  • It's the longtail GTR version.

  • Thanks to BMW! v12 engine

  • saw this car last weekend at PBIR. pretty sick

  • @Splotteam Im afraid not pal, this is the final edition Mac F1 long tail made for LM and circuit racing... THIS IS NOT A MOSLER......

  • actually it a a mclaren f1 Lm powered by a BMW V12 engine

  • mt900 sucks! it doen't even comes close to the mclaren f1

  • my dream car.

  • Now that i call sweet sound.

  • Haha, they removed the reverse gear to save weight. Awesome.

  • Anyone who's into the Gran Turismo series for Playstation, will recognize the long-tail Fina GTR from the game (GT4).

I don't think the game gives the car as much justice as it deserves, because it feels borderline out of control at high speed, with not too much grip, although capable of awesome lap times if you can hold it together. Love the F1, a 90's classic!

  • @LateNightCable

I was born in the 90's i think the 90's cars are one of the most important cars of the decade at the time and still now for example let me list some legendary cars Mclaren f1,Mclaren f1 Lm, my favorite Mclaren f1 gtr long tail race car the 1 in the video, toyota supra, nissan skyline r33,r34, and more awesome cars i love the 90's for having one of the best cars of all time

  • true, starting with the Honda NSX the previously undrivable supercars started to become usable for the mere mortals in the 90's

before the 90's only real professional racecar drivers could truly handly the supercars

The 1987 Ferrari F40 was reportedly only driven at 30% of its potential by most of its owners according to Ferrari's own test drivers who saw them drive.

  • BMW McLaren F1 GTR = legendary supercar.

  • @shalbus

    And it sound REALLY amazing!

    (what is Veyron?)

  • @shalbus

    why BMW?

    german noob.

thats just the racing team. doesnt make it go any faster.

  • @BKsMassive you're a dumb ignorant. period.

  • @shalbus

no im not. your just trying to make out this car is German made.

    remember only the engine is.

The new line up of Mclarens what come out in 2011 are 100% British Engineering! >=)

    Fuck you! schwülen Fotze!

  • @BKsMassive

no i dont. For its success that engine was as crucial as car's design cause that V12 was a masterpiece.

Btw, compared with this the new Mclaren SUCKS! And dont try to act the tough guy in front of your computer. Grow up kid ; )

  • @shalbus

how can you say a car sucks that isnt even made yet?

also the engine isnt the only part to a car moron.

    Fucking Dick head.

  • uh, the McLaren MP4-12C isn't meant to compete with the old F1, but with Ferrari's 458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

it's McLaren's new "entry model" for an all new range of supercars

  • actually Gordon Murray first went to Honda to design the McLaren F1's engine

they were not interested or couldn't guarantee they could make it light enough or something, that's when he contacted BMW

  • @shalbus OK?...

  • @lucaseason :s

  • @shalbus Do you want a medal or something?

  • @shalbus you could not be more right, supercar beyond definition.

  • @shalbus its not called a bmw mclaren its just a mclaren f1 gtr only thing thats bmw's in that car is the powerplant.

  • this mclaren, specifically the Mclaren F1 1997 Spec GTR "Longtail", is actually DE-TUNED to comply with the old FIA GT1 rules and regulations. it has been DE-bored and restricted from a 6.1 627hp BMW V12 to a 6.0 600hp with much shorter gear ratios. they say the few GTR longtails that have been converted into road use are one of the most potent cars to ever be built, cause the air restrictors have been removed giving it back its original hp and then some plus the insane amount of downforce

  • fuck the bugatti, that car is fucking ugly. it might be the fastest, but not the sexiest like this one!!!

  • The Bugatti isn't exactly sprightly, show it corners and even a £40k Caterham busts it. Top Gear proved it so!

  • Comment removed

  • Dickhead

  • i was being sarcastic, i guess it doesnt translate

  • i guess u cant hear the sarcasm

  • one mans junk is another mans treasure. thats the saying isnt it?

  • yes, yes it is

  • Still faster around a track than a Veyron as well

  • @jimmyhayers Well it is a race car after all said and done not a road car.You cant even talk in the thing.

  • I was talking about the normal road going f1. Thing is I find it hard to choose which I like more, the f1 road car is a pure driving machine whereas the veyron is a way to get to ridiculous speeds in ridiculous levels of comfort and style haha love em both but i think id have the mclaren, just makes me go all funny in my pants when i hear it. This race version of the f1 is madness.

  • @45Mang this car was madein 1995 imagine if mclaren would redo the F1 it would dominate the charts

  • @45Mang Don't worry a Veyron wouldn't be within 10secs on the same lap as this particular Mclaren.

  • @45Mang The bugatti isn't faster than the f1 in a straight line.

  • @45Mang you know the mclaren is actually faster? not faster than the super sport but the original. cuz the test vehicle used to set the record for the McLaren (XP3 i think) had a less powerful engine than the final production. and its cuz of the rev limiter as well. if you have a 7th gear, the car has enough torque to beat the veyron. peace! ;)

  • @45Mang the T1

  • @45Mang Couldn't agree with you more, my man. In my opinion, the Veyron looks like a glorified upside-down bathtub with a gawdy ass 2-tone paint job with a mess of scoops of gills. As for the Mclaren F1 GTR 'longtail'..... poetry in motion.

  • wow that thing is a BEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASTT

  • thats the gtr not the f1

  • If you wanna be technical it's the F1 GTR "Longtail".

Either way it's exactly the same engine/sound!

  • you do realise that it's the f1 gtr

  • THEY PUSHING THIS CAR. WHAT A SHAME

  • It would be dangerous to backup in a car with the kid of power this thing has. It may not even have a reverse gear to save weight....

  • why this car has no mufler. its too loud

  • It's a *race* car. Race, as in, they don't give a flying fuck about loud; it's all about HP.

  • well, how much horses are we talking here. 1-10HP increase. if it the case they need a mufler

  • Holy shit man, you need to learn about cars....

  • im trying to, but you not helping me. so how much power would they lose if they put on muflers

  • Well, understand that I'm not under any obligation to help you, but since you're not being a dick, I'll tell you this. An engine is a big air-pump. Air goes in, gets mixed with fuel, gets ignited, and then flows out the headers/exhaust manifolds, and then out the exhaust. The more freely that can happen, the more power it has. Most race cars have anywhere from 600-1000s of HP. The outflow of something with that kind of power needs to be as unrestricted as possible. Read as : no mufflers.

  • Your question can't be answered exactly because I don't know any of this car's setup. A first-blush guess would be 25-40% on a car like this. Search for info and read.

  • so mufler basicly blocks the move of gases. what about regular car? but why did you mentioned that i can be dick. im a nice guy

  • Reread. I said *NOT*. It's the same in a regular car but since the flow is usually so much less in cars with less than say 300 or so HP that lack of backpressure becomes a problem. Imagine trying to blow through a straw. Easy, right? Now try a 12" 10 foot long steel corrugated pipe. Won't happen. That, and there's noise ordnances off a race track. From here, you're on your own. Look up backpressure. Google is your friend.

  • Because it's on a race track no one cares.

  • It's a racecar....

  • I like how that that black dog at the end is watching the F1, probably wondered what all the growling and barking was about!

  • powered by bmw;)

  • did someone in the background dare refer to it as the Saleen S7?!

  • MCLAREN RULES!

  • My favorite car. 6liter V-12 627HP 0-60 in 3.2sec....2,500lb......not bad for 1995. Bugatti Veyron looks ugly. JudgeSteelflax your cool, but when you shit about Europe your an a**hole. Most American cars suck. The SSC Aero looks like crap to a McLaren F1. You're a person who likes classics not supercars, so this video is not for you.

  • That is the long tail model built in 1997, and it has 900 bhp in a 915 kg (2017 lbs) car!!!

  • now children, no need for all the hatrid here. this video is about a mclaren f1 not lawnmowers and karts.

bykashka75: the reverse gear is not broken, it is removed to save weight on high performance cars.

  • bykashka75: Try 4 million dollar car, and this is a RACE SPEC CAR kiddo, it is not meant to be driven anywhere around mud. This is meant for the track, if you want to drive a car in the mud stick to your Ford F150.

  • well ,you don't make sense what so ever. if you drive this rediculesly overpriced car around your track, and a rain started. you skid off the track into the grass. you started to spin. AGGGGA. now here is mud. well, what are you going to do if there is not 5th gear. this car cost 15 Grand to build, but they sell it for 100 grand, well im out

  • I don't mean to sound rude but you must be the most ignorant person in all of youtube. 15 grand to built? The exhaust on this car costs 65 grand alone. This is the race spec McLaren F1, it is meant for professional racing, if you were to spin out into the grass during a race in this you'd have an entire team and safety cars helping you get back on the track. The road going McLaren F1 does have reverse by the way. Honestly you ignorance disgusts me, you must be some redneck from nowhereseville.

  • 65 grand exhaust, ya gonna kidding me. my house worth less, or better say camper. man, what ta F..CK is wrong with those EUROPES. 65 grand exhaust. Are you serious. what kind of metal? Gold

  • Actually they do have gold plating around various parts of the engine. Thats one of the reasons why the production car cost $873,000.

  • why they have gold? gold is not strong metal

  • Its one of the best heat reflectors which is important in a car like the F1.

  • if we talking about thermodynamical materials, the alloy of Al-Ti-V with little % of Cu gives best dissipating thermal characteristics. I'm engineer of metalurgy. Have a nice day. Also great car :))

  • Wow thats pretty cool. I watched a 5th gear show and thats what they had reported on Mclaren using gold. Now I have to research metals so I can understand what you were describing :) Thanks for the post. That kind of stuff is always fascinating.

  • They didn't use gold as a structural piece :) Only to insulate the engine bay

  • the gold is a heat shield and is only a leaf.

  • why do you need heat shield? it needs to cool down and not to warm up

  • really? not too bright, are we?

  • im trying to figure it out, are we

  • not to bright indeed... let me enlighten your mind, gold is the best heat reflector which COOLS the engine.

and just to be annoying, but rightfully so... you don't write cool down/warm up, as it is assumed that if you are cooling, the temp is going down and viceversa for warm.

  • thank you GRABB05 you are try professor, and you indeed enlightened my brain, ps sorry cann't write more have to go take a leak

  • is it a pic of your sister in you profile?

  • Jajajaja, no. Not quite.

  • boy are you retarted
