  • NO, Chuck Norris came by and the burning wreck pissed him off, so he turned his head suddenly and gave it his Walker Texas Ranger look...the rest is simple physics.

  • pause at 1:20. Shockwave.

  • alientank has by far the best and most accurate explanation here

  • The bottom of the tank being exposed to flame is not what causes a tank to explode. The pressure relief valve will take care of that. The heat is transferred to the liquid and then comes off as a gas out the valve. It's when flames come around the top of the tank where at that level inside the tank it's only gas. Gas can not absorb heat at the levels liquid can and thus the tank weakens quickly, resulting in a BLEVE (boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion).

  • 1:00 - SHAZAM!!!

  • Isn't it just flammable, not explosive?

  • once the heat boils the tank the liquid expands and gows booom mother fukcer

  • Yaa, that's a BLEVE dumbass! But if you pay some fucking attention he says the liquid is extremely explosive!

My question was if it was true or he just kinda misspoke.

  • arrr yer alright fuck wit iv been in the cfa since i was 16 and i have been to 3 of these just not as big yer the liquid is flammable i fucked new that im saying bascly y its like that is cous the presure velf has let of gas witch is on fire and inside that tank is heaps of presure

  • A BLEVE is when a liquid boils and expands inside of a container causing a buildup in pressure that results in an explosion, even water could do this.

  • Yes I'm very well aware of that, but me and the aussie was having some kind of discussion but youtube have changed their post-reply functions of unkown reasons so you might misinterpret my post.

  • yer rite... not a BLEVE tho... Boiler explosion... BLEVE is kinda all about flamable liquids...

  • LET'S ROCK !

  • BLAST

  • Audio at 1:36. WTF? No one was killed??

God must have flicked everyone out of the way.

  • there is no god

  • Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion some crazy stuff

  • These firefighters appear to have no training regarding high pressure vessels. It was absolute luck nobody got killed.

Shooting water at such a large surface area doesn't cool the vessel fast enough; it was just a question of time

  • 這是在國道1號高速公路,岡山收費站附近發生的!

  • 1:20 cool

  • look closely in the middle of the blast it looks more like a nuclear explosion.

  • cant understand why theres just 2 guys cooling it down...

  • DUDE IT LOOKED LIKE HELL AT 1:29 thru 1:35

  • They should have established a trigger point and pulled out after so much time had passed. They could have set up some monitors and pulled way back...also, what was the cameraman doing on top of the apparatus in the beginning of the vid? Weird...

  • So japanese firefigthers are as useless are the japanese police.

  • If you think Taiwan is in Japan, you are amazing.

  • "Thanks you to upload the so precious movie"

    From an online translator.

But it will only be Karma when you get this message.

    請漢語

  • this is amazing

  • Where was the SCBA? I noticed the apparatus way too close and FFs without all their PPE. That guys hands wouldn't have been burned had he had on gloves...good reminder for all. Be safe, wear all PPE, including SCBA for vehicle fires.

  • not so bad if your all geared up in firefighting gear...

  • your a fucking reatard , that explosion was massive....

  • @ 1:36 it looks like they guy is seeing if he wet himself, and personally i wouldnt blame him if he did

  • This was dumb though, the fire is not threatening any buildings; its in a field. Back off and let it do its thing.

  • Being a firefighter level I trainee, I just learned what the acronym BLEVE meant, and honestly the term didn't click until I saw this. Now i know what to look for if ever I am on a truck fire that contains flammable vapor. But lets not forget, this can happen with a car gas tank as well.

  • Correct it can but not this bad. This is why you always wear ALL of your turnout gear at a fire. Even a trash bin fire, you never know what can happen.

  • Exactly, and good point on your latest post.

  • Boiling Liquids Expanding Vapor Explosion

  • I think I just shit myself!

  • holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

  • why do we make those chemicals again?

  • styrene, to make polystyrene - plastic.

  • oh rly

  • but, then, you really have to realize the importance of plastics, and, the lives it saves daily.

  • That is so fucking scary if u see that in front of you !

  • TERRORISTS WIN.

  • next time, the counter terrorists will pwnzorz

  • BS!!!! i sent a gaem invit 2 me awp whore frend. U DED.

  • ok ok u got me. u killed me DED! BLARGH

  • *Map Change*.

    gg

  • *lag*

  • ...epic fail.

  • ... wiped.

  • If that was in a movie and not in real life, then i would of said thats a fuckin awesome explosion. Good no one was hurt.

  • WOW! that was insane. glad no one was hurt mind...

  • whoa!! i love watching things go BOOM!!!!! but, i must say that everyone is lucky that no one died.
