  • That Craig person is wearing a PSO shirt

  • Why are they making references to things that werent in the 90s? Mad Trix came out on the PS2 in like 2003 didn't it?

  • I loved growing up in the late 80s and early 90s! When I was little, the NES was still the hot thing...then, my mind was blown by the release of the SNES! When I got a little older, it was N64, and then Playstation! Such great memories!

  • Yeah were's the challenge! I really wish there were great games Nentendo is not like they use to be no offense I like them it's just I wish there were games like that once again let's just hope the Wii U has games like that but again I'm very skeptical about what there bringing out. I miss the 90's but I can always play my SNES or games on the Virtual Console just to say.

  • shit i was born in 92 and was playing resident evil 2 when i was 6. RE2, MGS, Tomb Raider..... Gex.. all classics

  • I will still play Final Fantasy VII every few years from start to finish. It is in my opinion the ultimate video game. It has a great story, great gameplay, graphics are okay but that isn't important to me. Oh and the characters fucking kicked ass. No other video game has that much replay value in it in my opinion.

  • YEAH HALO!!!!!!!

  • i remember the long ass lines to play street fighter 2... "a that quarter right there is mine, that means im next!" lol

  • DUKE NUKEM 3D!

    FOREVER!

  • I began gaming in 2005 and was born in 1993.So I wasn't interested in gaming till I was twelve. Now I wish I was interested earlier cuz the 90s seemed like a helluva decade for gaming.I wish I could have that nostalgia feeling that grown ups have now!

Lol when I'll be 30 or 40 I'll be like " Oh how wonderful the games were in the 00s and 10s.Games nowdayas are just not the same.: xD

  • Sonic 2/ Tomb Raider II FTW!!!!

  • FFVII FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yup those were the good ol days, best ever Nintendo & PlayStation. fuck fag box.

  • @Gundam0083kill lol child.

  • These are the good days, the old days. The modern games are good, but they don't compare to the good old at-home classics.

  • Well I'm only old enough to remember Super Smash Bros on Nintendo 64, Mech Platoon on Gameboy, and Halo 2 on Xbox.

  • Metal gear solid and resident evil cmon you cant beat them

  • snes an ps1 FTW!!! only game that i felt i missed out on at the time was ocarina of time... funny seeing as that's widely considered the greatest game of all time, but tbh i wouldn't of traded ff7 and mgs1 for anything...

  • Back in the 90's I play a lot of fun games like Sonic,Crash Bandicoot,Spyro,Tony Hawk,Mario 64,Metal Gear Solid & yeah.. there were a lot of games that I enjoyed back then ^_^

  • the 90's were when gaming was at its peak of greatness. compared to today's gaming, its something to be looked at as a legend.

  • i was born in 1992,so i started playing the super nintendo....then in 96, my mom bought us the genesis for christmas,....the next year, n64 came out so we got that for christmas along with bomberman 64, the game that came with it....so i 've been playing video games since the super nintendo era!

  • Such a great time for gaming and constantly looked back upon as being something truly special. Unlike the 80's which had computers being released every week in the 90's it was consoles, and I much preffer consoles over computers (though the amiga was fucking badass). I personally believe the 90's to be the best decade in gaming simply because so much happened and most of it was great, unlike the 80's which was an extreme of brilliant and downright shite.

  • @madcapoperator Was the Amiga actually popular in America? I thought that was a mostly European thing?

  • @thenintendopimp don't think it was in the US, but in Europe (Uk and germany in particular) it was the dominating computer until windows 95 pcs came about

  • Woah woah woah, 1:35, the guy on the right. Where have I seen him before, because I definitely know he's in some mainstream stuff today.

  • @zeldafreak701 Its Vince Vaughan, the movue is Swingers

  • @chuckyboy200 Thank you! Nice to know where they got their start.

  • SM64, MGS, RE, CB, Spyro, Goldeneye, OoT, MM, and Twisted Metal. I was alive in the 90's but I was only born in 97. One thing is for sure, halo, CoD, GoW, and Gow(God of War) has nothing on these games.

  • Anyone remember when Tekken 3 was like the sickest fighting game out there? I miss that

  • goldeneye, streets of rage, resident evil, ahh those were the days.

skyrim, uncharted 3, batman arkham city, ohh these are the days.

  • IMO the 90s were the best years of the Gaming Industry. I own a PS1, N64, and Dreamcast and I still play all 3 of them to this very day. Even more so than the 360. I remember going completely nuts and wild whenever a new Crash Bandicoot game was announced and I would always ask my mom and dad to get it for me for Christmas and I got the new one each Christmas year XD.

  • You can never mimic games like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, now its just "oh the graphics arent good enough" or "oh that game doesnt have multiplayer"

  • are these gaming decades videos like a snip-it of an actual documentary?

  • hahaha. I remember the days when I thought that ps1 graphics were the best. LOL

  • Final 7& 8 with theire over the top EPIC battle music

  • I'm astonished they didn't mention Doom or Wolfenstein 3D; those were game-changers.

  • Again no one mentions Jet set radio

  • 0:42

    Eminem?

  • lmao, i may hav been born in the mid 1990'2 but i didn't evn kno wat any of this stuf was til 2002, cept ff7 and starcraft, mayb sum sonic 2... but that was IT til 2002, of course

  • WERE THE HELL IS OCARINA OF TIME/MAJORAS MASK WTF IS THIS THOSE GAMES WERE AMASING WTF

  • @Golden7Ghost thoose are the same game just with new bosses and graphics.

  • @JakeVideoStation no there not each game has different story, dungeons, gear, locations, things to do and of course there going to have similarities its a franchise

  • Wow, no mention of OoT or Goldeneye, but Bonks Adventure or PS2 get talked about

  • lol this sould be called

The Virgins Show: how to stay a virgin in the 90's

    lol

  • The 90's were awsome. To bad they are gone :(

  • What, did they forget Game Boy existed?

  • I miss the feeling that ps1 and n64 games gave me.

  • @MyFaveVideoGameOSTs Its called getting older...but i know what you mean lol

  • @MyFaveVideoGameOSTs you miss being younger, the games weren't special.

  • @MyFaveVideoGameOSTs

Same here, Its hard to get excited about new games nowadays. Well thats just me

  • @sheedrock1 I agree this decade is all about Call of Duty and in my opinion I think Call of Duty sucks... I'd rather play Goldeneye on N64 for hours with 4 friends for 4 player multiplayer all in the same household.

  • @MyFaveVideoGameOSTs Back when it was gameplay over graphics. Now its make it look good so people pay $60.

  • @MyFaveVideoGameOSTs and Super nintendo and Sega Genesis!

  • 1:35 vince vaughn?

  • How can they talk about gaming in the '90s without mentioning Ocarina of Time?!

  • @SMDahlLPs they just can

  • @SMDahlLPs

    meh...

and besides, Goldeneye deserves a mention more....

  • that guy would choose a hobby of stalking girls to gym class

  • notice how playstation is always mentioned in gaming lol but sony is pisssing me off with the network still being down

  • The very best gaming decade!!! arguably tied with the 80's!!. I feel for whoever had to actually grow "up" interested in "modern" videogames now.. cuz the mainstream will try to dictate whatever is "social, hip, big at the moment, & casual" is fun.. but see in the 90's & 80's etc THAT WAS ACTUALLY TRUE games were that good...just core gamers!!.. the ESRB raiting didn't even matter or get noticed.. good was good. The major reviewers= all old school gamers themselves! who weren't letting crap slip

  • yay skip add button XD

  • @Cance251 yup

  • Spyro. <3

  • @Rudahn YES! Someone who knows an awesome game. *high fives*

  • @SparklepireSlayer Indeed! :D

    *return high five*

  • Glad I was born with a controller in my hand. 90's forever epic.

  • I just love gaming in the 90s. Back then we're not like those zombies of today who sit in front of the PC 24-7 playing online games (because there weren't any)

  • haha!!!PS1 RULED in THE 90s..

  • Crash & Spyro were the real deal in those days!

although instead of FFVII, Pokemon/Grandia was my first RPGs back then ^_^

  • back when games were all about fun and originality! Nowadays it's all just about people killing each other online on COD, which i really pity

  • lol at the old woman playing 64

  • whtevr, n64 was tha best. playstation had a few cool games but tht was it

  • Yeahhhhh, Playstation! XD

    Yay Spyro. =)

  • No mention of Ocarina of Time. What many consider the best game ever made.

  • No Love for Need for Speed?

My favorite game from the 90's was NFS III: Hot Pursuit, not Hot Pursuit 2, or the recent reboot that seems to have already fizzled out.

Also seriously Ocarina of Time wasn't even mentioned that was the best game in the entire Zelda franchise, personally I think it was better than Link to the Past

  • My favorites back in the day were Final fantasy 7, Resident evil 1 2 3 and Tombraider 1 2. Never really fell for any other games

  • They didnt even MENTION ocarina of time. They gave that game a 10.00!!!!!!!

  • @TheSuperEricWarshot

Silly. OoT doesn't even need a mention. Everybody automatically thinks of it when they think of that era, so there's no need. It would seem clichéd.

  • I remember super morio bros and mario carts on N64 and then Spyro on ps1 consuming my summer breaks when I was little. Games used to last so long because I sucked so bad lolz.

  • 0:16 BOOYAH STAR FOX!!!! lawl i just came here cause i was expecting it to show :P

lawl the first few seconds of the video the first game that show is Star Fox :P

  • @KrystalFox141

But why did they choose a picture from Assault? Wouldn't it have made more sense had the chose it from SF1 of SF 64?

  • @Hbomb117 but Assault is more new .....

  • @TheKittiesKill I was born in 1997, but im a retro gamer. I have a Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, Game boy,and Ps1. My fav is the dreamcast and Genesis Sonic 2 FTW I don't play xbox 360 that much, forgot to add that last time

  • @TheKittiesKill I was born in 1997, but im a retro gamer. I have a Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, Game boy,and Ps1. My fav is the dreamcast and Genesis Sonic 2 FTW

  • 90s ruled! Super mario, FIFA international soccer (94), Quake, hell, those were the days! For me, top of the tops is easily Half Life - Immersive graphics, music and sound, an incredibly rich storyline, tremendous playability and modding capabilities and, above all, huge fun! And that's what the 90s were all about!

  • two words, mortal kombat

  • Sonic & Cloud OWNED The 90s

  • I miss the 90s.

  • No Neo Geo?

  • So let me summarize the video: Playstation was awesome! They had mature games!

What is there no love for OoT when reflecting on the 90s?

  • Metal gear solid 1998

  • Final Fantasy VII FTW!!!

  • The 90's were all about the fun, not like the 2000's- 2010 were its all about who has the better games now.

  • There's a PC game that revolutionized strategy games but I can't think of the name through your "EXTREME" bullshit. What's it called um... oh yeah! STARCRAFT 1 AND STARCRAFT BROOD WAR!!!

  • @tvirus1234 Dawn of War > That copied bullshit

Starcraft is garbage, Blizzard is garbage

  • @187lloyd Starcraft did not copy anything and if they did, it copied warcraft (even though their from the same company :D) but I havent played that but I basically know the story. Every game copies or references something like the marines armor in SC or in Fable you can get Master Chief from Halo's armor

  • What about Quake? or DOOM!!!

  • what no dreamcast YOU HAVE ANGERED THE GAMING GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • Where's Pokémon? That's one of the best examples of a '90s game!!!

  • Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater are some of my favorite series of the 90's.

  • playstation2=best game system

  • donkey kong 64!!

  • no Zelda? Typical machinima

  • zelda at the top

  • They didn't mention Zelda?!!! WTF!!!

  • HELLO! IT'S ME! MARI-

    *interrupted by Gordon Freeman*

  • if a game introduced 3D doesnt make the game good, it makes the concept good

  • i still have a super nintendo at home

  • Yeah man,Chrono Trigger is the best 2d game i've ever played man...

  • they should have interviewed people who actually spent time playing games in the 90's.

  • '90s=The Platinum Era of Gaming.

  • Some of us were waiting for the Dreamcast 2.

  • @BidwellRunner and still are.....XD

  • @BidwellRunner some of us still are....

  • @BidwellRunner Some of us are STILL waiting for the Dreamcast 2

  • @BidwellRunner i still am.

  • spyro and crash are the 90s gods of videogames

  • What about fps pc games like duke nukem and marathon??!!

  • Come on! What's up? Is it a video for a casuals players? 90s it's a GOLD ERA for computer games, it's starts with 16bit blast from legendary Amiga and Atari ST, by PC's Doom and Quake revolution to the Sony Playstation's games. Unfortunately nowdays games aren't fun like in 90s - lot's of gfx effects but they are short and has nothing new, so boring - im deleting them faster then instaling on my hdd... So, let's go back to 90s !

  • I think the 90s had it's peaks and valleys, the best time for gaming was during the golden era that started with NES around 87 and continued through the early 90s with the SNES and Genesis then slowed down and was revived again by the PS1. Nintendo wasn't doing so hot after the Snes due in part by the success of the PS1.

  • Spyro the Dragon was hands-down the best Playstation game of the 90's

  • @ricardo22104 Crash Bandicoot raped it

  • @ricardo22104 OMG, I played SO much Spyro! Also Rayman and Mario of course.

  • @ricardo22104 until they tried to make "serious" versions of the game

  • @LaughTrack55 same here it was the only game i could play for 8 hours straight and not get bored

  • no mention of super metroid?

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS DOOM?! DOOM DOMINATED THE 90'S. I DONT CARE IF U THUMB DOWN THIS COMMENT CAUSE TRUE!

  • The 90's was the best era for anything and everthing. NO more arguments!

  • needs moar playstation circle jerkin

  • I'm surprised they didn't mention the FPS thing in the 90's - which marked it out as distinct from the 80's especially. I suppose it was part of the 'gaming for a more mature audience thing, kinda. Also - online gaming is surely a thing??

  • They better remake this and include OoT.

  • 80's better

  • Doom, and Bond for 64

  • No Ocarina of Time. What!!!!!

  • lyk how many legends were born in the 90's? preety much it was begening of the modern gaming

  • the 20 FIRST CENTURY BITCHES!!!!!!!

  • No Doom? No Metal Gear Solid?

    What.

  • @lolz146

    0:54 .... thats mgs

  • at least in the 90's you dident have some 8 year old telling you how hes prestige 10 and wasted all his time on a game. Nope, all you had back then was you, a buddy, a controller, and an epic adventure ahead of u

  • Wow, they left out Zelda OoT, the best game

  • 1:38 Young Vince Vaughn?

  • @DreamHarbinger2 Yeah man, its Swingers. That movie is so money.

  • @DreamHarbinger2 Thats one of his first movies

    It is him

  • @DreamHarbinger2 Yes, in a scene from one of my all-time favorite movies, SWINGERS.

  • @DreamHarbinger2 haha yeah :D

  • Games: 80ies (and 20ies again, maybe)

    Movies: 90ies (then 80ies)

    Music: 90ies (then 70ies)

Internet: 10ies (ya ain't seen nothing yet)

    Culture: 70ies

TV: ??? (what is that, anyway?)

    00ies: Lost decade

  • What do you reckon is the best game of the 90's? I say Half-Life or Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

  • @SoFarSoGoodSoWhat14 for me its OoT or super mario 64

  • Genesis's campaign line sounds like the PS3

    "Genesis does, what nintendont"

"Ps3, it only does everything".....except Halo

  • @JuniorProducer1996

except that genesis was very successful and had a very distinctive line of games

  • @Ahmidsviper

i know, i still have my genesis :D

  • best gaming things to come out of the 90's was the internet and 3d acceleration. Best things to come out of the 00's were xbox360/ps3 and HD gaming.

  • I remember playing Super Mario 64 back in the day.. Good times, good times...

  • 90's gaming was great but this video is all bro PR from the monkey's tea party at IGN.

  • hilary is gay!

  • I truly do believe the 90's were the "golden era" of gaming...but then again, I'm probably biased! But damn, the Super Nintendo! Are you freakin' kidding me!? What an incredible masterpiece that thing was and is.

  • they didnt even mention the n64! those fucks only showed mario 64! it is one of the best consoles ever!

  • @xFIRERUSHx yeah where the fuck is ocarina of time too

  • @PANESAR101494 totally agree OOT was EASILY one of the greatest games of all time

  • the good rare ware days!

  • What about PC games?

    Duke Nukem?

    Warcraft?

    Comanche?

    Dune?

    Doom?

Screw consoles and those fraken stupid controllers!

Gime me a keyboard and mouse any day!

  • @cyberteque u forgot about starcraft and half life

  • @manciuxl1 I know! And I own legit copies of those! Think of a DOS game I probably got it! Z X-Wing Tie fighter Dune! Dune 2000 Populous As to Half Life, I gave up at the same point a friend of mine did, when I found myself swimming through a nuclear reactor with a crossbow, Sorry, but I need some story that makes sense with my slaughter! :-)
  • damned i was born too late!

  • Forgot Pokémon much?

  • for me mari kart, banjo kazooie and golden eye, n64

ps ff7, mgs and resident evi

  • when i was a kid ps1 was the first one i got and then i was just waiting for ps2

  • Sometimes I wish gaming never matured the way it has.

  • Very great decade in Gaming in the sens that it was just about playing games and having fun.
