I loved growing up in the late 80s and early 90s! When I was little, the NES was still the hot thing...then, my mind was blown by the release of the SNES! When I got a little older, it was N64, and then Playstation! Such great memories!
Yeah were's the challenge! I really wish there were great games Nentendo is not like they use to be no offense I like them it's just I wish there were games like that once again let's just hope the Wii U has games like that but again I'm very skeptical about what there bringing out. I miss the 90's but I can always play my SNES or games on the Virtual Console just to say.
I will still play Final Fantasy VII every few years from start to finish. It is in my opinion the ultimate video game. It has a great story, great gameplay, graphics are okay but that isn't important to me. Oh and the characters fucking kicked ass. No other video game has that much replay value in it in my opinion.
I began gaming in 2005 and was born in 1993.So I wasn't interested in gaming till I was twelve. Now I wish I was interested earlier cuz the 90s seemed like a helluva decade for gaming.I wish I could have that nostalgia feeling that grown ups have now!
Lol when I'll be 30 or 40 I'll be like " Oh how wonderful the games were in the 00s and 10s.Games nowdayas are just not the same.: xD
snes an ps1 FTW!!! only game that i felt i missed out on at the time was ocarina of time... funny seeing as that's widely considered the greatest game of all time, but tbh i wouldn't of traded ff7 and mgs1 for anything...
Back in the 90's I play a lot of fun games like Sonic,Crash Bandicoot,Spyro,Tony Hawk,Mario 64,Metal Gear Solid & yeah.. there were a lot of games that I enjoyed back then ^_^
i was born in 1992,so i started playing the super nintendo....then in 96, my mom bought us the genesis for christmas,....the next year, n64 came out so we got that for christmas along with bomberman 64, the game that came with it....so i 've been playing video games since the super nintendo era!
Such a great time for gaming and constantly looked back upon as being something truly special. Unlike the 80's which had computers being released every week in the 90's it was consoles, and I much preffer consoles over computers (though the amiga was fucking badass). I personally believe the 90's to be the best decade in gaming simply because so much happened and most of it was great, unlike the 80's which was an extreme of brilliant and downright shite.
@thenintendopimp don't think it was in the US, but in Europe (Uk and germany in particular) it was the dominating computer until windows 95 pcs came about
SM64, MGS, RE, CB, Spyro, Goldeneye, OoT, MM, and Twisted Metal. I was alive in the 90's but I was only born in 97. One thing is for sure, halo, CoD, GoW, and Gow(God of War) has nothing on these games.
IMO the 90s were the best years of the Gaming Industry. I own a PS1, N64, and Dreamcast and I still play all 3 of them to this very day. Even more so than the 360. I remember going completely nuts and wild whenever a new Crash Bandicoot game was announced and I would always ask my mom and dad to get it for me for Christmas and I got the new one each Christmas year XD.
lmao, i may hav been born in the mid 1990'2 but i didn't evn kno wat any of this stuf was til 2002, cept ff7 and starcraft, mayb sum sonic 2... but that was IT til 2002, of course
@JakeVideoStation no there not each game has different story, dungeons, gear, locations, things to do and of course there going to have similarities its a franchise
@sheedrock1 I agree this decade is all about Call of Duty and in my opinion I think Call of Duty sucks... I'd rather play Goldeneye on N64 for hours with 4 friends for 4 player multiplayer all in the same household.
What happened to videogames in regards to single player quality/lack of individual fufillment, is the same thing that happened to your "pc" internet experience with the rise of more & more "re-fined" social networks (from first branches of scoial atempts like AOL, which was unique, to the impersonal shallowness which IS Facebook/Twitter today). People strip the intended scope & depth of every great medium untill It casually fits in with thier HARDCORE insecure pc-world conformity
The very best gaming decade!!! arguably tied with the 80's!!. I feel for whoever had to actually grow "up" interested in "modern" videogames now.. cuz the mainstream will try to dictate whatever is "social, hip, big at the moment, & casual" is fun.. but see in the 90's & 80's etc THAT WAS ACTUALLY TRUE games were that good...just core gamers!!.. the ESRB raiting didn't even matter or get noticed.. good was good. The major reviewers= all old school gamers themselves! who weren't letting crap slip
I just love gaming in the 90s. Back then we're not like those zombies of today who sit in front of the PC 24-7 playing online games (because there weren't any)

@TheKittiesKill I was born in 1997, but im a retro gamer. I have a Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, Game boy,and Ps1. My fav is the dreamcast and Genesis Sonic 2 FTW I don't play xbox 360 that much, forgot to add that last time
@TheKittiesKill I was born in 1997, but im a retro gamer. I have a Dreamcast, Genesis, NES, Game boy,and Ps1. My fav is the dreamcast and Genesis Sonic 2 FTW
90s ruled! Super mario, FIFA international soccer (94), Quake, hell, those were the days! For me, top of the tops is easily Half Life - Immersive graphics, music and sound, an incredibly rich storyline, tremendous playability and modding capabilities and, above all, huge fun! And that's what the 90s were all about!
There's a PC game that revolutionized strategy games but I can't think of the name through your "EXTREME" bullshit. What's it called um... oh yeah! STARCRAFT 1 AND STARCRAFT BROOD WAR!!!
@187lloyd Starcraft did not copy anything and if they did, it copied warcraft (even though their from the same company :D) but I havent played that but I basically know the story. Every game copies or references something like the marines armor in SC or in Fable you can get Master Chief from Halo's armor
Come on! What's up? Is it a video for a casuals players? 90s it's a GOLD ERA for computer games, it's starts with 16bit blast from legendary Amiga and Atari ST, by PC's Doom and Quake revolution to the Sony Playstation's games. Unfortunately nowdays games aren't fun like in 90s - lot's of gfx effects but they are short and has nothing new, so boring - im deleting them faster then instaling on my hdd... So, let's go back to 90s !
I think the 90s had it's peaks and valleys, the best time for gaming was during the golden era that started with NES around 87 and continued through the early 90s with the SNES and Genesis then slowed down and was revived again by the PS1. Nintendo wasn't doing so hot after the Snes due in part by the success of the PS1.
I'm surprised they didn't mention the FPS thing in the 90's - which marked it out as distinct from the 80's especially. I suppose it was part of the 'gaming for a more mature audience thing, kinda. Also - online gaming is surely a thing??
at least in the 90's you dident have some 8 year old telling you how hes prestige 10 and wasted all his time on a game. Nope, all you had back then was you, a buddy, a controller, and an epic adventure ahead of u
I truly do believe the 90's were the "golden era" of gaming...but then again, I'm probably biased! But damn, the Super Nintendo! Are you freakin' kidding me!? What an incredible masterpiece that thing was and is.
@manciuxl1 I know! And I own legit copies of those! Think of a DOS game I probably got it! Z X-Wing Tie fighter Dune! Dune 2000 Populous As to Half Life, I gave up at the same point a friend of mine did, when I found myself swimming through a nuclear reactor with a crossbow, Sorry, but I need some story that makes sense with my slaughter! :-)

Genesis's campaign line sounds like the PS3
"Genesis does, what nintendont"
"Ps3, it only does everything".....except Halo

best gaming things to come out of the 90's was the internet and 3d acceleration. Best things to come out of the 00's were xbox360/ps3 and HD gaming.
