It can actually b solved using only 3 straight lines. Draw a long line, straight.. that goes thru the right edge of the bottom right dot.. the middle of the middle right dot, then exits thru the left edge of the upper right dot. Continue the line straight out, then go down with the 2nd straight line.. thru the right edge of the top middle dot.. the middle of the middle dot, and the left edge of the bottom middle dot. Continue the line as before to go up thru the last 3.

I have a high IQ but couldn't find the correct solution to this puzzle, because one would assume you aren't permitted to actually draw outside of the box, as it was never specified. Stating that one could start from 'any point they like' is vague and unhelpful, unless already aware that drawing outside the area of dots is allowed. Only after several attempts and an analysis of the puzzle does one come to the realization that it cannot be solved inside the area of dots. Afterward, it's simple.

That is because the Arrow shape that apparently solves this problem also crosses over 1 line too. My capital E shape / answer has 4 lines and connects all the dots, but you have to retrace over atleast one line, but I know that arrow shape is most likley the best answer. If this IQ test was a contract for money, I'd fight for my capital E answer.

@dizzo95 Yes but by that logic this could be done all in one line since you'd just be bending the line over and over. You are severely bending the obvious purpose of the test. Lines are straight in the way that they cannot change directions (they can be wobbly because people just can't draw perfectly straight line). This test is made to determine whether or not you have the spatial reasoning to see past a boundary that has not been specified.

Its easy, you go from the top right, to the bottom right, but you go a little bit below the very bottom right dot so that you can form a straight line through the bottom middle dot that goes to to the left of the top left dot, then from the spot beside the top left dot, you go across to the spot where you started which is the top right dot, then diagonal so get to the bottom left dot, If you don't get it, you obvoulsy don't think "outside the box" and you should try harder.
