I live in New Mexico also global warming carbon tax is a scam. I supported bill Richardson when he ran that was a huge mistake ask anyone in New Mexico he was a crook and completely broke our state. Please listen you have no idea
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson abandoned his nomination to become commerce secretary under pressure of a grand jury investigation into a state contract awarded to his political donors
Richardson raised taxes for the middle income and lowered taxes for the rich...just like Bush! He supports a health plan that protects insurance companies...shameful! He refuses to help the support staff at UNM hospital... 40% of those hard working employees qualify for medicaid. Nearly 50% are hispanic! More shameful behavior! They deserve better! They deserve a living wage! Do the right thing. It's not too late!
I just wish Richardson would have the balls to do something gutsy like Gravel is doing in the debates, raising his voice and trying to stand out and get heard. That's the only way I see him being able to get the recognition he deserves. If anyone but Hilary and Obama win the nomination, I'll be somewhat satisified going into the general election, at least. I'd be happiest if Richardson, Gravel or Kucinich won.
Please help the support staff employees at UNM hospital who deserve a living wage. The support staff employees deserve your attention Governor Richardson right here in New Mexico. Do the right thing today!
he is mexican and for mexican thats why he represent illegal alien ,NM illegal alein get license driver and universal healthcare, nohing different with billary lier
I'm 1/2 white 1/2 brown. My white side is sooo racist it's pathetic. From my uncle Rusty to my uncle Rex-very racist. La Raza is'nt a group, it's a people, A great kind hearted people. A people willing to mix with all races. So that 1 day we can be the Raza.
La Raza is not a RACIST HISPANIC GROUP! Geez it is comments like that - not thought out and and misinformed - that make the political process in America a big joke.
Bill Richardson is a card carrying member of La Raza, a RACIST HISPANIC GROUP that favors giving amnesty to the criminal element. Remember, criminals love Democrat. If you're not a criminal, why the hell would you vote for a racist guy like Bill Richardson?
don't give me that crap. He has shown no evidence that he's a racist. Besides, maybe he joined a long time ago when he was more extreme and just forgot to end his membership. Maybe he's in it for other reasons. You know, as extreme as La Raza may seem, it's a lot more complex than how you present it. Don't give me your bullshit knee-jerk talking points.
As much as Richardson has done for the this country. He can do whatever he wants. Combined both Hillary and Obama, they will never occomplish what Richardson has done.
Never fear, President Wetback is here! And his wife! And kids! And kids! And kids! And uncles! And aunts! And cousins! And chihuahuas! And gang members from back home! And more kids!
If those supporting Hillary Clinton say Experience is the most important factor, why are they not supporting Joe Biden or Bill Richardson, who are the most experienced candidates?
If sharing the same bed with a President is enough experience to be president, why are they not drafting Monica Lewinsky or Laura Bush?
mike gravel is the most experienced and the most accomplished of the lot....check out the video i made for him....it shows you why we owe so much to this man....
Hearing RICHARDSON speak makes me happy. I look forward to coming home after work just to see whats up with BILL on the polls...and I must say LOOKING GOOD!!! GO RICHARDSON!!!
No nonsense! Right on! How would you do this as President? What is your plan? Do you really think that as a Republican any candidate would have enough public support to win?
Think about it this way: if the candidates were all your uncles and aunts, which one would you feel most comfortable going to for wise, practical advice on difficult issues? I'd go to Richardson. This video has been added to apheta's playlist of more than 125 energy/climate related videos. Click on "apheta" above this comment.
I am one Republican talking about Bill Richardson. If we end up with a Democrat in the White House in 2008, he is the one I want. I see him as the only Democrat that has a reasonable chance of pulling the US out of Iraq without causing bigger problems in the process. If you pull out the military then diplomacy is the only tool you have left to deal with the Middle East and diplomacy is something Bill Richardson knows better than any other candidate.
I know everybody keeps talking about Hillary and Obama, particularly the Repugs. But it's still very early in the process. Keep your eye on Richardson. I think he can do it.
Richardson has done a great job and is extremely popular in New Mexico (in 2006, he won re-election by the widest margin in the history of the state), and he's easily the most experienced candidate running. I really don't see where you're coming from in saying that he's "not ready".
Too young? He is 60 years old. Perfect. Easily the most electable candidate. Hillary's too calculating, polarizing and she's female. Obama's too untested, inexperienced and race will be a factor. Edwards is too single issue-oriented and inexperienced. It's got to be RICHARDSON. He's the one who can beat a Guiliani in the general.
Great video. I like the "unmeanness" against the other candidates ( Republicans and Democrats alike),
his sense of humor is uncanny. It makes you think and at the same time not feel threatened. Also increasing teachers' salaries is a great idea, and obtainable in the first 100 days. Leaving Irak without residual forces left behind makes a lot of sense. Richardson will be a great candidate for President or Vice-President!!
It's not a holistic concern to be attacking Richardson's response on education. He wants troops out of Iraq long before January 20, 2009. Both are important issues, and given that we have already heard his plan for Iraq (which is more fully fleshed out than other candidates), education is a very important issue - one that nobody else it talking about. Jumping on that statement only represents a premature & uninformed response, or a calculated political attack.
if i were a tree, i would want to be a redwood tree, because they are the biggest tree that i can think of, and they are so big, since i am a short person, i want to be big.
bill richardson will make a great sec of state when the Dems take over the white house in '08 (hope, hope) I just hope they don't nominate Hilary - I love her, but I'm really worried that she could win. The wingnuts would be coming out of the woodwork just to vote against her, in a year that they would otherwise stay home in disgust over their party's candidate (Rudy, if it's him, will make 30% of the electorate stay home) C'mon President Gore, right the wrongs of 2000 - get in the race.
You know, I love these ads, and was starting to lean towards Bill as my candidate of choice. But then I saw the debates. And his answer to what would he do in the first 100 days in office was to raise teachers' salaries, just like he did in New Mexico. And then I realized: Bill doesn't want to be President; he wants to be Governor of the U.S. Sorry, Bill......
By raising teachers salaries he....wait, by raising teachers salaries doesnt that nationalize the occupation, wait its already nationalized just with a bunch of crap between here and Washington...anyway, so he can be the Governor of the US, thats what the President is supposed to do - govern. Right?
With thousands of kids (U.S. and Iraqi) dying in Iraq; and two insane regimes on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons; the top priorities for the first hundred days in office should not be raising teachers' salaries! That that was the top thing that came to mind when he was asked the question shows that he's interested in just continuing his role as governor, but on a larger scale, rather than being president, for which national security should be the top priority.
You have a point. I know he has said something about Iraq...I think it was getting the troops out immediately. I could be wrong...but I'm pretty sure thats what he has said.
No doubt he has a POV on Iraq. But that that was his answer for what he would do in his fist 100 days is troubling. Thousands of Americans are dead and dying in a foreign land; we're on the verge of nuclear war; and the planet is melting. Who gives a bleep about teachers' salaries (except the teachers, of course). A president has to think globally, not provincially.
He's the only candidate who is calling for a complete withdrawal from Iraq before the end of the year. No residual forces in the country whatsoever; all the other candidates want residual forces.
That's fine. Still, "What would you do in your first 100 days in office?" "I'd raise teachers' salaries." Very disappointing. North Korea may get a nuclear weapon. But, gosh darn it, at least our teachers will be well-paid!
At least he looks into something that will help the education of the children in the United States. The people of the United States are the 1st priority which is something george bush completely overlooked, which is why the economy is slowly dwindling.
No doubt. But I wouldn't consider increasing teachers' pay as a top priority for the first 100 days -- not when there are two insane regimes on the verge of developing nuclear weapons, and not when thousands of Americans (not to mention Iraqis) are dying overseas.
No one doubts it's important. But anyone who thinks increasing teachers' pay is a top priority to be accomplished during the first 100 days in office doesn't see the more important issues confronting us right now.
I am impressed with the energy plan, and right now Richardson is my favorite candidate. However, his views on illegal immigration leave me scratching my head (against building a fence and against allowing state troopers to detain illegal immigrants).
