No it is right the way they said it.

The lower the "ratio" the better considering the performance of the car.

Example:

Bugatti Veyron 1000 hp and 2000 kg; ratio= 2000:1000= 2 kg per hp

BMW M3 420 hp and 1600 kg; ratio= 1600:420= 3.8 kg per hp.

Conclusion: Veyron has a "lower power to weight ratio" so it has a better performance ;)

Of course this is an impressive car of german engeneering and precise manufacturing - NO DOUBT TO THAT.

But I think that Porsche have misunderstand the sense of a hybrid car! Hybrids should have *real low* energy consumption, not *a bit less* consumption than the other model wich haves 200hp less (but still enough) then this new hybrid.

Imo. a hybrid should weigh max.500kg, have about 50HP and be as comfortable as possible. THEN it follows the sense of "saveing energy".

The Porsche 918 Spyder has three electric motors. Two powers the front wheels while the third is coupled with the transmission to run the rear wheels. Together with a 3.4 L V-8 engine, the 918 Spyder produces over 480 horsepower and gets an amazing 78 mpg. That is twice as much as a regular gasoline car!!!

nice to see their slow minds finally moving a little bit but it's far from what it should be. an intelligent super sport hybrid has no dumbass V8, no moronic V6, no archaic 4 cylinder. no it is primarily battery electric drive and 1000 electric ponies is easy to do. as for range extension you do that with a small light 2 cylinder with less than 100 ponies which is plenty for the average cruise power while still being able to do dramatic acceleration with the batteries. mark my words.
