  • The video is 1997 and the DC2 is 2000cc and the EK9 1800cc they made even a name tou the engine B16C ahaha they have stroker kits from then and in greece we saw stroker kits for B-series engines after 2001 ahaha

  • @fg2stro if you are talking about the stock 4.4 don't worry about it I had a itr swap it was still great on gas the 4.7 is so so if compared to most v8's and v6's they are all pretty good

    When racing against the civic was it with inlet and air filter fitted ? cause there's a lot of sound difference :)

  • @KamikazeC1991 certain body characteristics can be dead giveaways of which model the civic is. You just have to do your homework to learn the visual differences. The numbers after the chassis code represent the model grade. Usually the higher the number the better the model ie. EG3/4=VTi (sohc vtec), EG6=SiR (dohc vtec), EK4 = SiR (b16a dohc vtec), EK9=CTR (b16b dohc vtec typoe-r engine + chassis has been reinforced in areas vs. lower models). Enthusiasts mostly like the higher grade models tho

  • you can shift any car quick and hard, each one just has its sweet spot on the rev range is all, find it and it will click just as quick no matter what drivetrain you are dealing with. its where torque and horsepower peak, which is always at different stages, the sweet spot is in the centre of the two. like a roller coaster just ready to tip over the edge.

    DC5 is the chassis code. chassis=shell. USDM and JDM shells are the same exept for the firewall. in US they call it rsx, in Japan they continue to call it integra. now is that so hard??

  • that whistling noise from the intake is ITB noise from the velocity stacks. listen to any good quality onboard of a honda with Individual Throttle Bodies and they sound that way. it is especially evident when he downshifts, the blip causes that whistle.

  • what a close and awsome race! I wonder what kind of final drives ( or gear sets ) are being used in either car? Ive driven in, ridden in, and seen many type R's, and i know the gears were close, but the gearing in these cars seemed to be even closer.

  • @mogul1265 eh not really...after a few hard races, the synchros start to go. I try to baby the gears so I don't have to spend a lot changing my synchros twice or thrice in a season of racing like the other drivers

  • damn. both are fast. depends on whoever's the faster driver. but itr was always the faster than the b16b.. oh well.. close race for both..

  • Specs for the ctr says b16c 1800cc.Thats wierd.

  • probably a stroker kit. but the b16b engine in the ctr does have the same block as the b18c in the integra so making it 1.8l is fairly easy, only need to swap out the crank and the rods.

  • Na its all motor, if it had even a low boost setup it would be much much faster.

  • That whistle top-end is common in the b18c's. My friend's poorman style b18 does it past 7k rpm. Sounds amazing IMO.

  • Don't get me wrong I have a DC2 but to say it has virtually no understeer. Are you watching the same video as me. Quite alot of understeer on corner entry!
