  • I dont have any issues with my recalled machine, i never sent it in either, currently i am cleaning it with CLR, took it all apart, but there are 2 washers, the washer that goes on the heating tank is the rubber one, mine is the same exact one you show but i have a rubber washer and a pvc washer, cant remember if the rubber goes under the water resevoir or under the nut with the metel one....damn, i should pay more attention, but im sure the rubber one goes under the resivoir,

  • Wow, thanks dude! That saved me $120.

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing. I think mine has a different problem, but it is good to know what you did just in case the time comes that mine takes a dump at that same location!

  • I have had mine apart as well - leaks in the same damn spot! So I JB welded it and used new washers. Held fine for a year or so. Now its leaking again! I read a ton of complaints about the same thing. For such a high dollar unit, you think Bunn would of addressed this issue by now...

  • @hoofaarted just use silicone, thats what i used to fix my GR8

  • i have an 8 cup Bunn pour omatic in white it and has no plunger as it is an older model, i used silicone to fix the leak, this video helped a lot, thanks

  • I got a great tip for homemade espresso at coffeeloverstipandtricks (.) com

  • I wished I had viewed your video before I tossed mine into the trash can. Oh, well. Live and learn. Great do-it-yourself video you made here, Thanks.

  • I just got a Bunn Thermofresh back in early December. Best coffee maker I've ever used! But its nice to have tips like this just in case something should happen. I like the idea of just getting a larger rubber piece rather than using silicon. Thanks so much for the tip. BTW - I noticed a light white-ish residue in that plastic piece... is that the lime they talk about in the manual? Is that easily cleaned? I have yet to take mine apart.
