Uhh... the 35 lines of code for trippolette is only something like .5 KB of save space, and that was just unlocking a song that was already there. The average file size of a song is something like 3 MBs, and probably more for a song this long.

So, for one, how are you going to fit this only an 8MB memory card and for another, do you REALLY want to put in 400000 lines of code?

He has spent a LOT of time doing this. It involves ripping the game disc apart and creating his own custom 5 track midi sequences, then placing them into the disc. It's a LOT more complicated then that...

I'm not going to say he hasn't spent a lot of time on this (it's amazingly awesome, by the way), but I don't think he put 5 midis on there or anything. It sounds like he just converted the song to a format that the PS2 could read off of the memory card (I'm also assuming he used either Action Replay to load from the memory card OR he just placed it in an ISO). The reason I say that is because even parts he doesn't play are still heard. They're not muted.

I talk with him all the time while he is doing this. The game uses a MIDI track to handle the notes on all difficulties, plus event triggers and animations for the band members. The song audio is actually 2 files. One is the band background, and the other is the guitar track. Since he only has the one file, he had to use it for both.
