Let´s be honest, fatalism is part of the essence of the alien franchise, on my point of view, it was great that they killed newt and hicks, if not that way, this could have become "adventures of ripley team in space against the aliens". Fatalism, that ANY character may die in this franchise is what makes it scary and desolate.

Ridley is making a prequel! and he has even talked to James about how to make it more like Aliens than Alien. From what i've heard it's going to be about the ship that crashed on LV426 and the big ass alien on the chair and others were collectors of speices, hence humans were on the ship too
I've always told colleagues of mine if you listen to some of these tracks closely they do sound rather analguous with several of the "Krull" scores at various points within the respective tracks. This film was a truly ass-kicking 80's action packed sci-fi coupled with the musical prowess of a musical genius!!
I think James Cameron needs to make a true alien movie after ressurection, have the clone of Ripley and the andriod chick, align with the marines to have an all out war.
I wish someone would put the scene this soundtrack belongs too on youtube...was the best bit of the film next to the battle with the alien queen at the end
@dusty686 T2 is good but Aliens will always have that gritty edge above it. Aliens STILL looks great and T2 is already kind of dated... the payoff of using computer animation over live props.
