Erm, no, not rust. Anything that could potentially give one the disease tetanus. Including a bite from an animal, including an animal which could potentially have rabies. It is often misunderstood that a shot for rabies is a tetanus shot because of the similar amount of pain you experience from both, and they are administered in the same spot. An object with rust on it only induces tetanus because of the properties of rust, and it would have to be a deep incision.
