  • XANADU!!!!!!!!

  • 7 people have no musical taste

  • goofing off? i wanna see them trying

  • 0:18 the best :)

  • They're Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart and Geddy Lee, they can do whatever the F--k they like on stage and still be great.

  • He wasn't allowed to do anything until that drummer did his. There are rules to recorded tunes.

  • Howard underglider farts lazer beams /watch?v=fRxtokE4HFE&feature=related

    like bob lazar

  • Alex: Are you ready, Neil?

Neil: Almost. Geez, I wish I still had the real tubular bells, crotales, temple bells, agogo bells, wind chimes, etc. of my youth. Waiting for me, Alex? Btw, are you every going to play all the necks on that guitar they way you used to? Really. Why break the damn thing out then?

  • That fucking double neck.

  • What you have just seen are to GODS (in the music world) playing and laughing with each other...Ha ha ha now please get back to the music please ( says the peons who listen and adore!!!!)

  • Math Rock

  • @fcweddington Too much for ya? Maybe you like the Ramones? Two chords, two minutes. Done and done.

  • @Mozart1220 What the hell are you talking about? By math rock, I mean extremely complicated, rare, and talented.

  • @fcweddington Sorry, you sounded like one of those idiots one always meets that says Rush is all technical with no "soul". Your comment was a bit vague.

  • I think mount olympiad was probably this way with the gods laughing at each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have so much love for Rush and their extremely long songs like Xanadu, 2112, La Villa Strangiato, Hemispheres, and Cygnus!!!

  • maaaan i love these dudes there the greatest

  • @livemytwisteddream

Sorry I meant the Snakes and Arrows tour.

  • Rushh!!

  • @Drewish2727 I will find you, and burn you..

  • Seeing Neil smile makes me smile. :)

  • @Kroy5312 Watch "Rush - The Spirit Of Radio (From "Snakes and Arrows")"..then you got another proof of it ;)

  • @SchmiddiJR Boo.. Wrong album

  • ahahahahahahahaaa

  • this is like my favourite video lol

  • Its great to see that after all these years a band can still have that much fun performing.

  • I didn't know Meatloaf was in Rush ;)

  • @jrsc288 thats mean lol

  • hahah press 6 for insta peart the elf

  • That is the only proof I have ever seen that Peart is not a robot!

  • @Kroy5312 no robot could drum like neil

  • @Kroy5312 No shit sherlock, he's an alien

  • I love this because it is funny, but it also shows that they are more then just band members, they're friends.

  • i love how all they do is make funny faces and you people think it's hilarious because they are good musicians.

  • @MrSlimshady2014 I think it's hilarious, mainly because every time I see Neil drumming, he is so in the zone, that when he breaks the tension, it's completely unexpected.

  • too funny, i like it.

  • It just amazes me that, despite being gods of progressive rock, they are just genuine good guys. They are so high above the R+R hall of fame, it would degrade them to group them in with such lesser bands.

  • @billblue58 AMEN!

  • LOL!!!

Even somebody as serious as Neil gets his funny face in somewhere!!

  • It's nice to see Peart take off his care-face once in a while! ;)

  • hahaha what!! brilliant

  • I'd strongly urge ANY true Rush fan to see "Beyond The Lighted Stage"! It's an amazing documentery that gives exceptional insight to the band, their humor and a complete history of their career from their humble beginnings.

  • @justentime77 It is great! I've watched it probably a 100 times xD

  • April 8th at the Giant Center is the home of the Hershey Chocolate company (of course Hersey, Pennsylvania, United States)

  • I will shit on anyone's face that disliked this piece of music history.

  • heh heh heh... thats awesome. they look like a fun gang. all three are my heroes...

i think what i like best about RUSH is the amazing poetry in the Lyrics combined with a beautiful composition of note scores... i figure the gods on Olympus listen to this when they get tired of minstrels... anyone care to share an opinion?

  • Neil is my hero... Imagine him with a cape playing drums. That's how I see him lol

  • See now that alone is indication of neil's musicianship (as if we needed anything else!), can make a funny face IN TIME! The man is a god amongst us...

  • 30+ years together, and they still know how to have fun onstage.

    Now that's a REAL band :)

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who better than rush?

  • it's funny how he is makin funny faces and in the next second he's beating the shit out of those drums!

  • lol

    btw i love xanadu!

  • I'd love to have 0:18 as a screensaver

  • neil won

  • thats good, because you know they are enjoying what they do

  • SAW THEM LAST NIGHT IN PALM BEACH, FL. BEST I HAVE SEEN THEM YET. AWSOME!

  • @PASTACHEF1 I saw them in Tampa the night before. They were excellent!!!!

  • Why spend time criticizing Neil? He has inspired thousands of drummers and he is a master. EVERY master of any art will admit to his own flaws because a master recognizes limitations; they are always trying to go beyond where they are. I'm 45 years old and I've been taking lessons for 2 months. I'm old, dudes, yet I'm starting out in a craft that takes years. Why? Because one night while listening to this man play drums, I was inspired to reach for something new. Thanks, Neil.

  • @Thanecue

    well said, well said :D

though I am only 23 and starting drums from neil, you and I are ageless in our love for the craft he brought us to.

  • @gitchigoomi If i was a priest and you confessed to me that you thought Neil Peart was overrated, I would make you get down on your knees and pray to the God of Drums-Neil himself- for forgiveness, as your reconciliation. Also, I'd like to see you do any better.

  • hahaa

  • Neil twirls a stick. Neil makes a face. You people are fucking delusional. He is an average drummer who has been uber marketed and you've bought it hook line and sinker. He does nothing that great, his solos are boring, and he has no charisma. I am a drummer who paid to see them the other night in Boston, and for the first time EVER in my life, I actually nodded off for a few seconds during the show. Watch some real drummers and then reevaluate your infatuation with this sham.

  • @gitchigoomi

Could you please state why you find him overrated? I find his drum lines are pretty diverse, withough "showing off" too much. It goes well with the music, and that's the most important in my eyes.

Sure, his drum solos are boring, but I generally find drum solos, no matter how great they wouldn't be, boring

  • @Kumagoro314 You expressed a very reasonable opinion of him: he is a competent drummer who fits with the band he's in. But that's all he is. It's the hype around him that I find bizarre, and I remember when it started in the seventies. Now tons of people have been told and believe that he is some kind of super drummer, best of all time, etc. It's absurd. BTW, drum solos can be incredibly exciting. Depends on the drummer. Peace.

  • @gitchigoomi He is one of the best in the world though

  • @gitchigoomi Your a drummer and think Neil Peart is average. Drugs my friend, you should do more drugs. Then you can explain to the world why your an Idiot. I can't even begin to respond to this. Your an Idiot. Falling asleep at a Rush concert. Like I said get off the drugs man.

  • @cappellifiore Falling asleep at a Rush concert is like a gay man getting off to lesbian porn.

  • @gitchigoomi Average Drummer. Your on something Dude. Just listen to his peers and you'll notice that all say great things about Mr. Peart. So Mike Portnoy is average as well then. Ask Mike who his inspiration was, his idol. Answer: Neil Peart, the professor, that's what real drummers refer to him as. In the end just listen to the music or listen to something else. Nobody forced you to type in Rush. Peace

  • @cappellifiore His peers praise him, and then they play twice as good as he does!!! Did you watch the Burning for Buddy DVDs? Peart played so poorly on the first one that by his own admission (it's on the DVD) he did the second one to redeem himself. All the other guys were praising him on that DVD as well, and he sucked. I just don't get it. BTW, nobody forced you to respond to me. Sharing opinions is what makes us civilized humans, even when we disagree.

  • @gitchigoomi

I agree with your assessment of Neil's performance in the Buddy Rich shows.

Neil is amazing as being Neil. Neil is amazing for what he contributed to Rush's music and to rock music. He was a trailblazer. An innovator.

But lets not pretend he's some versatile multi-style drummer who can play jazz well.

  • @LegendOfOldTrafford

I think you may be confused.

I'm talking about the Buddy Rich Memorial concert in 1991 where Neil Plays with Buddy's band. The song is called "Cotton Tail".

From the day I first viewed the performance, up to today, I still wince at his approach to swing. Stiff is the word.

I'm guessing you're a twenty year old fanboy who listens to very little besides rock.

Soon I'll click your profile and I bet money you were born after "Hold Your Fire" was released.

  • i was confused i didnt read the buddy rich comment in your first two lines of your comment that is exactly what i was talking about. And what are you a Fan Man? it shouldnt matter what age i am i know the best drummer in the world when i see him. Have you watched Rush:Beyond the lighted stage? he took time off to reinvent himself in terms of his style of drumming....so to say he is stiff when i heard he learned a new way to technically hit his drumset from his teacher and himself is ridiculous.

  • @larkydozer

You obviously didn't comprehend what my comments said.

That being said, your comments here are largely irrelevant.

  • @gitchigoomi LOL..Okay.

  • @gitchigoomi i was at the boston show as well as 3 others ...your entitled to your opinion...but...were u watching the same show...?

  • Comment removed

  • My god they're awesome! I can't believe I own Every album they made, including solo stuff. I own all their albums on vinyl, cassette, CD and even a few 8 track tapes and I still haven't seen them live! I suck!

  • kkkk

    neil fazendo careta !!

    wow

    isso é novidade uahuaha

  • Thats pretty funny.

  • How old are they--six? LOLLLLL!!!!!

  • @dirtydude22 For a young lad such as yourself, I am extremely jealous of you, dude! That must have been a special moment in your life. Awesome, man!

  • precious

  • @dirtydude22 well done fellow rush fan :) though i am very jelous cause i still havent seen them live yet :L oh well

  • one of the only bands that give the time of the day to the fans if u see geddy somewhere and ask for his autograph no prob he will do it unless he is like in a major hurry or somthin but like at a gas station etc

  • @dirtydude22 LUCKY SOB

  • That's all that Neil could do in that short time he can express what he's feeling in one face!

  • 5 people accidentally hit dislike! This is AWESOME.

  • It's awsome to see that after DECADES of touring together...they still have FUN touring!

  • I love Neil Peart he's so optmistic and he's such a nice person despite what's happened to him through his life! More rock stars need to look at Rush as influences, maybe not for musical taste, but because Rush has shown how to be great musicians and be famous without being complete jerks.

  • @Grunge00125 exactly. I just watched the Beyond the Lighted Stage documentary with Rush and its amazing to see everyone who was interviewed talking about how Rush influenced them even if they dont sound anything like them. They pick up more on their positive attitude great emotions. I cant imagine coming back to write and tour after what Neil has been through. I have a vast amount of respect for him.

  • @espChris93 And Rush was a great influence growing up, their lyrics made you think and their music was like thunder - and never once did a negative story come out about their personal lives - Alex Lifeson was 50 before we even heard of a single run in with the police or anything even close to that. - these guys should be looked up to for their spirit and their ethics.

  • @Dahgrostabphri

and his run in with the cops was him protecting his son so even that run in isn't a problem

  • @Dahgrostabphri well im sure the smoked pot but who dosent from canada lol

  • @zackjp They smoked pot in their early years, but Alex said it was the least of their addiction.

  • @splintercellfan2007 Could you elaborate on that? I always thought they still smoke pot.

  • @Ionizap Oh my bad. Well think about it, what's one thing that made every band in the early years creative? POT. I'm not hating on Rush's new stuff at all, in fact I love it, but marijuana really does wonders. Plus, a lot of old band members would stop, and it was just a early adult/teenage thing to a lot of them. Sorry if I'm confusing you, but this how best I could put it.

  • hillarious, good to see Neil smile.

Alex is forever the goofball, you have to experience at least one Rush concert in your life and hopefully more

  • L O L Just luv them !

  • Im eating a burrito right now!

  • I love to see who these gods aren't only great musicians. I love to see their friendship in the stage and how they enjoy playing together :)

  • oh my god.. neil's face!!!

can we get that in hq please? :D

  • @Ovningskora Bitly link code = 9CwS1L

    Cheers!

  • I'll never tell abuot Neil - Stone Face

  • HA HA love it ! Rush is the best band ever.

  • They are simply GREAT!

  • doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    neil did funny face!

  • XANADU!!!! and lol. roll the femurs... anyone else catch that? as in roll the bones.

  • Awesome! Neil is always so serious and focused...like a doctor performing brain surgery (it's probably about as hard), and that's part of what I love about him. But it's cool to see that he really is having fun up there.

  • seeing them this september for the second time. Been listening to these guys for years. Love fuckin Rush!!!!!

  • @punkisALIVEagain

and im sure they love fuckin you too

  • Thats just so awesome! Rush has great talent, along with great stage presence!

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST

  • Nice to see neil being able to laugh.

  • I think they do take them selfs seriously because they are serious guys playing some serious songs - they are better than any band ever formed :-)

  • And to think; At first Alex didn't like Neil. It took Geddy to get Alex to accept him. I love seeing them having fun while playing with such passion, precision and intensity. Thank you for putting this up. That made me smile.

  • Those guys are great friends, and it shows.

  • Hehe it was still cool :p. Check out my YYZ cover. Please and thank you. Dont forget to comment and rate, thank you. Tell your friends. This is not spam

  • One of the most appealing qualities of RUSH is that they've been friends for so long.

  • Rush are cool. They don't take themselves too seriously at all. They like to have fun and they put on a great show every time!!

  • I like um .. ...

    raison bran.

    yup

  • I am just wondering at some of these comments. do you people have nothing better to do then post negetive crap, some of us enjoy these little tidbits of odd video. as for some of these comments who cares?!?!?! This is why I dont post on forums anymore ...because of the flaming thread posts like this.. sheesh shut the hell up and just listen and enjoy the beautiful world of music we have... no one cares where you come from...

  • if you don't agree you're a FAG! it's so stupid

  • I know right?

  • I find the overpatriotic Americans who have to insult everyone else in the world depressing. I think I'll watch this video one more time without looking at the comments. That might cheer me up. Classic Rush humour. (:

  • @proudlyrushian i know what you mean when i saw them live there was lots of this banter going on long may rush continue.

  • Hoping for another tour this summer/fall!

  • some people like little things like that

  • LOL, haters gonna hate!

  • I like bran muffins.

  • Lerxst going off is always such a treat during their shows!! I'll love these guys for the rest of my life!!! <3 <3 <3

  • Canada's greatest export.

  • ummm. jim carrey?

    beer?

    toothless fighting?

    i beg to differ, sir.

  • MY army is the United States Army.

    go choke on a dick.

and i like how you failed to address the issues that were very valid, relevant and proving you wrong.

don't bother responding, i understand your ashamed.

  • @POLITICTRUTH are you kidding me? wtf is your malfunction?

im defending canada because its not that bad of a place, the land is gorgeous, and the beer is good!

yes my army is the US. did i fucking mis type somthing? i dont think so.

why are you hating on canada? you damn troll

  • interesting. Still Rush beats out all those fine exports.

  • it's good to see neil chillin' when he is alway very, very serious all the the time!!! hurrayy for the Professorr!!!!!

  • (Dianne who?)

I just freeze at :19 and laugh and laugh and laugh...and laugh some more

  • i was paraphrasing a Trailer Park Boys joke :)

  • Just play that stupid Dianne Sawyer song and shut up

  • easy kid

    just calm down

  • I'm a BIG Rush fan too :) PEACE

  • This is awesome. Enough said.

  • Classic old school Rush. Having fun while playing the most epic, underrated songs ever written. It's nice to finally see Neil get in on the action, it made me smile.

  • first time I saw Neil doing something not serious at all, THANK GOD, the men is always so serious, LET THE ANIMAL OUT!! =D

  • Alex is always the instigator...but it's nice to see Neil having fun years after what he went through......RUSH FOREVER!!!!

  • Yeah this proves that to the people who say that Neil always looks so serious, Neil Peart can be very funny and ridiculous at times, he just doesn't really show lol

  • For more than 30 years together and still having so much fun together each gig. They have given the world of music so much. Is there a Nobel Prize category to award them for that??

  • @zudzowne it sucks tho coz they're not in the rock and roll hall of fame... they should get inducted..

  • @zudzowne You my friend are a genius. I like the sound of that. Introducing the winner of the Nobel Prize, "RUSH"

  • LOL NEIL! Oh man that made me laugh.

  • I love how Rush's drum parts aren't the same thing over and over again.

  • Three great friends rocking out and having a good time. Thats what its all about.

  • these guys kill me - neil making faces at alex a nano second before he breaks into a fill that would take me 3 days to learn -

  • hahaha, excellent comment and so true.

  • @MrChiffy hahahahahh lol

  • @MrChiffy No offense, but you must not be a good drummer if it would take you three days to learn that fill of Neil's! There are much harder fills of his. Start practicing!

  • @EzrinJem2 Well at different levels of skill, that fill will take different times to learn. I'm sure he's trying x__x attempting to cover neil is a commitment on its own lol

  • @EzrinJem2 for sure there's harder - i was exaggerating to make the point that they make it look so ridiculously easy - that would take me no more than 2 days lol - and no - i'm not the second coming of neil peart - but i give it neil peart like effort - and that's the main thing brother !

  • @EzrinJem2 Lmfao anyone can do 16 noted on two toms. Thats as basic I can get
