Like I said Mj was half the bball bible and Kobe is the rest and it will continue on and on with each generation. Get Ova ya selves and respect folks from the past and present homie real talk dummies!
Man Kobe jumps his fullest and still he gets the shot in. If I jump too high my shot goes off -.-. Also, Kobe shots the ball sometimes while hes jumping back a bit.
@melbies think about wat u just said.. "the better team..."now that i think about it KOBE IS the better fit with the lakers.. idont see lebron working in the triangle offense.
When I say 'great' I mean consistently great, automatic every night. Kobe was inconsistent for his first 3-4 years in the league, and was not trusted to be the automatic 'go-to' guy until he improved his jump shot range, ball handling and his defense. It all came together for Kobe during that third championship season.
Even after the Lakers couldnt get a ring with Payton, Malone & Shaq, Kobe had a team as godo as Lebrons and couldnt take them as deep as Lebron has taken the Cavs in the playoffs. Kobe still makes a lot of mistakes. Like the last game, in the first 4 possessions, Kobe had 2 turnovers & missed 2 shots. When Kobe's great, he is amazing, but Kobe still makes mistakes in games like his head isnt in the game the whole time.
Wow you're a fucking idiot. Lebron is in the fucking EAST what dont you understand? In the EAST you play easier teams more often so your record is going to be inflated. And the only reason the Lakers didn't win that year is because the Big Aristotle wouldn't give up the fucking reins! He wanted to be the number one player even when it was obvious Kobe had surpassed him. Why do you think they got rid of shaq? They were so pissed at him for causing problems when they should have easily won.
Jordan was 21 (1984) and Kobe was only decent at 21 with 3 years in the NBA. He didn't become 'great' until his third ring with Shaq at almost 24. But hey, better late than never.
jordan had 3 years of college to mature.he was 21 when he entered the league and the bone fide star and savior of that team so he got the ball whenever he wanted.kobe was a skinny 17 year old kid who had shaq in his team.
It's a pre-fadeaway postup move that Jordan absolutely mastered, he calls it the "windshield wiper"..
and for anyone who's delusional and actually thinks Kobe has a better fadeaway, you guys really need to watch the fadeaways MJ did after his 2nd retirement....NO ONE can ever match it, it had to be the most effective/efficient move in basketball history (alongside with skyhook)
seriously no one could stop it cause he always knew witch way to turn and it was so quick and on point once he backed you down it was gona be an auotamatic point
the only thing i dont understand is why he wasnt doing it when he was young becus i do that type of stuff all the time in highschool games and people sid he started doing it becuz he didnt have his young athleticism nemore to get to the whole as much
well MJ always had a fadeaway even when he first entered the league, it was never his go-to move in his earlier years, it was more like a situational thing, and yea he did'nt do it as much in his earlier years because his athleticism allowed him to drive in the paint easier, and then in his later years he had to rely on his jumpshots, and fadeaway was the best way for him to back up his defender and create space for himself
I have gained alot of respect for Kobe he's up there with the best who's ever played and this move is great I use it sometimes if you sale it the defender will BUY it!
I like KB, but I feel that he's a bit inefficient with how many fakes and jabs he makes to get off a shot. Jordan never need to do soo many moves to get enough space to make his shot. Like in this video, when kobe drives left and has the guy beat all he needed to do was spin-away-fade-away and drop a rainbow...
coz kobe has to face zone defense which draws a lot of defenders while jordan faces fewer. jab steps may help him 'fake' the help defense back to kobe's teammates so kobe could get space for a shot...my opinion only..
however your opinion is correct. in kobe's early days before defenses became really strong he could just drive through like jordan. as time moved on he also was not gettin calls when he would get creamed on drives. hes had to adjust to alot, and hes done a masterful job....and when everyone thinks hes done evolving hell do it again
Awesome video. I'm a bit of a KB hater, but I have to give him credit where credit is due. He has matured into a great player and a good leader, BUT will always be inferior to Michael Jordan. I always label KB as a poor man's Jordan. YT search for clips of MJ's turn around jumper, it's a thing of beauty. He had to use that shot because in his early yrs in the league defensive players were serious, unlike the puff cake rules that prevent players from locking down the D today. wiki da jordan rules
But let's not forget that Kobe the then youngest player ever in an all-star game put on quite a show in his own right. Kobe wasn't showing us rawness and creativity whereas Jordan was showing us mastery. Now Kobe's game is less flash and it's more fundamentally sound.Lebron and Wade have all the flashiness now but they have to master certain moves like the fadeaway and get better pull-up jumpers then maybe they can be on the level of Kobe and Mike!
He actually pissed off his teammates for playing for himself and outside of the 'team' although he made good plays. Oddly, Karl Malone was one of the pissed off ones.
That's actually a very fair and realistic statement (not like a KB cheerleader). If more were stated that way, there'd be far less 'KB bashing'.
Just a note, its amazing how fundamentally improved KB got after a VERY fundamentally sound Gasol arrived.
for all those trying to discredit kobe by saying it's jordan's move, get a fucking life. in case you didn't notice, michael jordan doesn't play anymore.
