Do you guys know who they are? The gentleman is Bryan Watson and the lady is Karen Hardy...they were World Champions in Latin (multiple times). Their dancing is beautiful. Very clean, elegant and sexy Latin.

Lo que pasa es que estás imponiendo tu machismo cultural. Hay una gran diferencia entre el cha cha de la CALLE que se bailaba en Latinoamérica y el cha cha internacional.

Whether straight or not, from a technical point of view the male dancer is doing an excellent job. We shouldn't judge international ballroom dancing on the basis of our own cultural biases. THE DANCE STYLE IS PERFORMED THE WAY DEPICTED IN THE VIDEO. I agree with georgewu5 about the style of this dance. I'm completely taken aback by ignorant comments questioning masculinity. International ballroom is NOT about sexual orientation. It's about ARTISTRY!!!

Actually Brian + Karen was world champions at that time.

This is basic cha, intentionally with out too mach show, learning tape. In addition, dancing change with time, and that is an old tape.

In the technique book it's named as "time step", which is also the name that everyone at my studio calls it by. It's possible that it varies based on the edition of the technique book, I'm not sure about that.

And they're world champions, I'm pretty sure they know what the name of the step is.

Since I am sure about myself being 100% male, therefore I always dance the way I wanted to. Hmmm... can you please define what is "better"?  What qualifications do you have? Had you ever compete? what is "quality" in dancing? Being able to spin 3 times per bar is always better than 2?

My standard is irrelevant. The point stands though that as you get better your eye improves. Quality is not being able to spin 3 times; dance is not about speed nor flash. It's using a body (a couple in the case of latin) to express music. Spinning once with control, grace and timing is more impressive that a triple spin off balance that has no relation to the music.
