@doctorwho43 It's an amazing song, that much is obvious. But the reason people keep covering it, is because it was a major song that affected the Genre "Alternative Rock". If this song didn't exist, Nirvana only with many other bands such as KoL wouldn't exist. With that, I'm really happy that The Pixies made this masterpiece.

As far as I'm concerned it's not about who's better than who. It's them tipping their hat to one of the most inspirational bands of my generation, and kudos to them. Cover versions of classics, especially live covers, aren't intended, or are rarely better than the original. Grow up and stop all this "My dad's better than your dad shit", and just enjoy music.

As much as I love Kings of Leon, the Pixies obviously did it better. But also, it's kind of hard to compare the two, although they are the same song, because the Pixies' version is a lot more creepy and it sounds like Frank Black is actually losing his mind, which is awesome. But the way Caleb sings it makes it sound kind of like he's vulnerable and begging for help. I don't know, just my opinion.
