Everyone says that this is the worst of the Indiana Jones movies, but to me the worst was Temple of Doom because the woman and the Chinese kid were annoying characters and sidekicks and I didn't like the voodoo magic and sorcery.

I think the Alien angle could have worked if they didn't actually show them to us. The most we should have seen of them should have been the hand at the beginning during the warehouse scene and that's it. There are clever ways to do it, and Lucas opted for the bad. They should have kept the Aliens mysterious kinda like how the first X-Files movie did it, and then linked it somehow to why the Aztec civilization suddenly vanished.

I love Indiana Jones, but this one (not trailer, but the movie itself) was complete disappointmant. Children (and adults who never grew up) should have a movie in which they can imagine themselfs as Indiana Jones, and in this one everything is to unreal and senseless which makes it hard to take it seriously.

@biggman18, I think many people over time forgot what the old Indy movies were inspired by, and then had a very "sacred ground" type of attitude towards the the old films, the fridge scene is just as upsurd as Indy using a plastic boat to survive a plane crash, People forgot that the whole point of indy movies is that they were meant to be fun movies that didn't take themselves to seriously, I think over time like "Temple", people will accept "Kingdom" as a worthy Indy movie.

This movie was the biggest dissapointment of my movie going life to date. Tryign to rehash past glories with too much CGI, Shia Letransformers on a motorcyle and some ropey looking (takes deep breath)... aliens *sigh*. Me and my boyfriend watched Raiders, Temple and Last Crusade leading up to this the next night and when sitting directly next to them, it shows itself to be the atrocious money making pile of crap that it truly is. GOD DAMN AWFUL.
Many people disliked this movie before it even came out, and that is because they had already decided the KOTCS could not be as good as the originals. If this was some movie not affiliated with the Indy Franchise, many of the "haters" would've loved this movie. People reacted the same way with the prequel Star Wars moviees...

proud to say i saw this movie 13 times in the cinema! It doesn't suck. it was freaking amazing, best movie of 08. once indy put that hat on, its INDY. who cares about cgi, that stuff is virtually in EVERY movie these days, stop complaining and accept it. its not just lucas and spielberg doing it. Ford did awesome, as always and im a big shia fan, seeing those two together was pretty much EPIC for me.

Indiana jones survives a nuclear bomb by closing himself in a "lead lined" fridge, where he is blown hundreds of feet away, then gets out of the fridge perfectly fine and brushes himself off.
he then survives like 7 waterfalls, each larger in succession, and doesnt even lose his hat.

i agree! The Alien ending makes perfect sense. In the 50s Aliens were a popular topic, the government were apparentally hiding Aliens from the public, not to mention the Roswell incident. Of Course the ending would be Alien because what creature has a skull like that?

i think this was a movie where u just hav to hav an open mind. of course it wasnt a good as the old ones, but still it was just a fun movie. i personaly didnt hav a problem with the alien concept. i thought harrison ford and shia labouff (or however u spell it) worked terrific together on screen. and overall it was just good to see indy again.
I really liked this film, i don't bash anyone like a fanboy who doesn't like Indy 4, true there were really cheesy moments like the truck off the cliff on a tree drive over a tree safely into the water but it was a funfilled entertaining movie, i hope if they really are making 5 and 6 do something religous in Asia or somewhere else, I just hope they don't make Shia/Henry Jones the 3rd the main character as George Lucas said.

I find the bashing of this movie sometimes a bit righteous and over the top. I'm a fan of Indiana Jones and really enjoyed this movie even if it isn't as good as Raiders or Crusade. As for the 'alien' storyline I personally give the writers/Lucas kudos for being brave enough to try something quite different to the religious themes, even if the storyline did get a bit jumpy in places.

I can buy a lot of impossible stunts (falling out of a plane and down a snowly slope on a raft into rapids), but in the 4th film they just recycled it, it was the same scene! As was the jungle chase scene, looked very familiar to the chase scene in Last Crusade. To me the 4th one doesn't count as an Indiana Jones film, it counts as a total ass rape of the franchise.

proud to say i saw this movie 13 times in the cinema! It doesn't suck. it was freaking amazing, best movie of 08. once indy put that hat on, its INDY. who cares about cgi, that stuff is virtually in EVERY movie these days, stop complaining and accept it. its not just lucas and spielberg doing it. Ford did awesome, as always and im a big shia fan, seeing those two together was pretty much EPIC for me.

okay, to clarify.
Indiana jones survives a nuclear bomb by closing himself in a "lead lined" fridge, where he is blown hundreds of feet away, then gets out of the fridge perfectly fine and brushes himself off.
he then survives like 7 waterfalls, each larger in succession, and doesnt even lose his hat.
then a mountain turns into a fucking UFO and flies away?
this movie has really lost the plot compared to the other ones.

I think we should give Steven Spielberg some credit here... it is NEVER easy to do sequels , especially when expectations are that high!!
Under these circumstances and considering the long time between part 3 and 4, I think Steven did a great job!
I like the movie - it certainly upholds the Indy flair!!! even though one might argue about the esoteric ending ;-)

Actually I think it's a BIT better the 2nd time I watched it because I had high hopes. I just didn't like the extended use of CGI. also the Aliens was stupid :S DAMN YOU GEORGE LUCAS!!!! But in conclusion. I think it's a Kind of a Decent film :D Didn't like the Shia as much in this. He's basically the same character in everything he plays lmao

i agree! The Alien ending makes perfect sense. In the 50s Aliens were a popular topic, the government were apparentally hiding Aliens from the public, not to mention the Roswell incident. Of Course the ending would be Alien because what creature has a skull like that?

I still can't believe, everybody thinks aliens are more unrealistic than god. It is just logical und probable, that somewhere on the millions of planets all around the never ending space another species of life exists. God does not have any proofs and is as realistic as magic or fortune telling.

Indy 4 was a terrible movie.I wasn't much of a fan of Indy 3,but compared to THIS one it was brilliant. I think so many people WANTED to like it(much like SW Ep.1) that they have convinced themselves it was good. I'd really like to know what about it people actually enjoyed. Story? Acting? Visuals?

i think this was a movie where u just hav to hav an open mind. of course it wasnt a good as the old ones, but still it was just a fun movie. i personaly didnt hav a problem with the alien concept. i thought harrison ford and shia labouff (or however u spell it) worked terrific together on screen. and overall it was just good to see indy again.

I really liked this film, i don't bash anyone like a fanboy who doesn't like Indy 4, true there were really cheesy moments like the truck off the cliff on a tree drive over a tree safely into the water but it was a funfilled entertaining movie, i hope if they really are making 5 and 6 do something religous in Asia or somewhere else, I just hope they don't make Shia/Henry Jones the 3rd the main character as George Lucas said.

I find the bashing of this movie sometimes a bit righteous and over the top. I'm a fan of Indiana Jones and really enjoyed this movie even if it isn't as good as Raiders or Crusade. As for the 'alien' storyline I personally give the writers/Lucas kudos for being brave enough to try something quite different to the religious themes, even if the storyline did get a bit jumpy in places.

Did you even see the film? When they got out of the quicksand with the snake? What went through your mind as you watched that? The ants scene, which was ripped right out of the Mummy series, and Shila Ladouch swinging through the jungle on vines with monkeys! He was swinging on tree vines with monkeys! Kinda makes you wish that CG wasn't invented. Now that Lucas can do whatever he wants,it just sends the novelty of it straight down the toilet,taking all the talent in the movie down there with it

I can buy a lot of impossible stunts (falling out of a plane and down a snowly slope on a raft into rapids), but in the 4th film they just recycled it, it was the same scene! As was the jungle chase scene, looked very familiar to the chase scene in Last Crusade. To me the 4th one doesn't count as an Indiana Jones film, it counts as a total ass rape of the franchise.

Yall have to remember, Steven Spielburg did not like the idea of aliens, and Lucas kept assisitng to aliens on and on, and Ford didnt like the idea has well, so yall cant really blame Spielburg on this, and they werent trying to make another Raiders, Ford did his job to bring back Indiana Jones better than ever and he did, I personally enjoyed this flick and the alien aint really a big deal to me, althought i do hate Lucas for it that he begged for it

My favourite is Last Crusade, second is Raiders of the Lost Ark, third is Temple of Doom, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull does not measure upto any of the original 3.
I thought that Indy 4 would have been better if it centered around something like El Dorado instead of stupid Crystal Skulls
