  • Unfortunately, the no.1 seed Russia chick Aleksandra Kostenyuk did not even get qualified for the quarter final in the Chinese dominated 2010 women world chess championship. LoL.

  • "yea thank you very much" thinking in her head "anyway" lol...she is cold...chess now since ppl are playing more like computers cause they use chess programs more often and in the end become colder...interesting

  • She has a very ugly husband...wat a waste of beauty...has anyone seen the pic of her with her husband and her baby? god damn...marrying her father almost haha!

  • Aleksandra, you are a Russian pride! Congratulations! Now you must move on to take on Judit Polgar! You can do it... just be cautious with those modeling and acting ventures, as this is the wrong path to take - you don't want to become like Kournikova, who sold her talent for the glamour of public spotlight!

  • @skakunchik Kournikova was never great tennis...she was never the best...she was good but not near the best

  • She's the women's world champion but she's not the best woman chess player. She isn't even in the same league with Judit Polgar... not even close.

  • she is so cold.people say chess is like war.having her as an opponent its becoming a cold war.

  • Congratulations Aleksandra Kostenyuk!! Enjoy fame in intellectual circles that is well earned.

  • Fantastic, In England the media coverage for chess is almost zero.

  • The first question was nothing to do with chess! He may as well have asked about her thoughts on the Soviet ideology! Why did he keep bringing up the whole issue of the Soviet Union?

That said, Aleksandra fielded those questions well. Women aren't as good as men because there aren't as many players. Men have a bigger talent pool in that respect, so men are always more likely to dominate the top 100 in the world.

  • The English is quite good on this program. I wouldn't know about it at all but I'm a huge chess fan.
