Adam Deitch is the best mother fucking drummer on the planet, just listen how he gives it away and makes it possible for the whole band to exellerate to a higher level!!!!
Beautiful performance! Alan Gorrie and Eliot Lewis have been performing on "Live from Daryl's House". A few of those videos led me here. It's really too bad that so many people feel they need to denigrate wonderful performers. Even if you think you can play better than they can, it's not their fault that they're internationally successful. Maybe their attitude is the difference between them and you.
As far as I know, these are mostly the founding members excluding the drummer, as already stated, Roger Ball, sax and keys and so the predecessor of Freddie V, and Molly Duncan who wailed the tenorsaxophone (one was missing in the comments earlier). Roger started a solo career, and released two albums, Malcolm works as a studio musician and founded another (no, not white) band. Its marvellous what quality these musicians are, in opposite to this fast burnt fuel for the todays tv shows.
A groovy guitar riff to kick things off, a funky ass beat, versatile keyboard finesse, some brilliant slap bass action and a mindblowin alto sax solo(pardon the pun). They even effectively used the Hammond B3 sound to up the hip. What's not to love about this?
Now imagine if they threw in a couple of bongos, congas and a half of the Dundee Horns for good measure, I'm telling you they gonna be a funk ensemble not to be trifled with.

The original drummer died of a drug overdose in the US, he was amazing!, I tell you the original line up were fantastic. I don't think they ever really recovered from it, they have had various talented guys over the years but.......................................
Eliot, I'd love to lick that sweaty neck... ;) Seriously, loved seeing you with H&O on Sept. 22 here in Washington. PLEASE come to this area with H&O, AWB or solo... I was the one holding the "L.F.D.H." bumper sticker in the 2nd row. Got great photos of you all-- thanks for posing pointing at me for some of them! :)
>>Odack>> This one is the best sound ever of AWB's Pick Up The Pieces posted on YouTube. I must acknowledge it. Thanks for sharing. Lets get funky, everyone!
Drummer is one of the finest I've ever seen, Brass sounds out this world, Bass sound awesome, excellent choppy guitar playing and even the harmonies are good....man these guys rock!!!!

Saw them at the Keswich in Pa. with TOP. They were great. I think new drummer was named Rocky. He did solo, kicked the hell out of it. Onnie and Alan, super. Hey good sound on my Altec speakers.

Funk......... not Latin, or junk. Listen to the vinyl, Steve Ferrone on drums. No room in funk for a a noisy snare, its got to be cool.

I could be way off cause I can't get a good look, but I think it's Pateria.. he's doing a lot of stuff with Wycleff (which is friggn' awesome).
It sounded and looked too me like it was the same style.
