I played the demo, the thing that so far bothered the most is that the guys you talk to for the side missions follow you around. If they have to make it THAT easy for players that you don't even have to walk over to someone to start a side-mission I might hate this game.

Ok no objection to trying out new game engine and battle system, hell they cant stay at square 1 forever they need to move forward, iv play'd all FF and i still say i liked the XII best, was something new,it still felt like a FF game. BUT...when final fatasy goes from a hughe world with unlimited of fun, extrodinary plot, something that realy pushes YOUR own fantasy to its limit etc.... when it goes from that to... "narrow paths. "ride fetish"....to time travels.. i dont know if its a FF anymore

@neo1234251 well not really. One of the things square has tried to fix is how linear FFXIII was. There are multiple paths to every location in FFXIII-2 and there is almost never only a straight path to your objective. The battle system for XIII felt really fluid and everything just seemed to kinda stream together nicely. My only complaint was how linear XIII was and now that they fixed that and improved on what they did right I'm sure that XIII-2 will be a better. I doubt only XIII fans will en

sadly, from gameinformer, they give the "the end?" ending for this. Square really needs to move on from this(wasnt that great originally). as for the battle system...they need to give us more control(changing jobs aint enough, have us control EVERYONE) perhaps gambits would be a good idea. another thing is make characters we like...i thought about strangling all the characters(besides snow). Other than that I think its not worth the $60. more like a rental game.

@syswhocares I didnt particularly care for the battle system in XIII. It felt restricting, and seemed like I wasnt controlling the characters actions. I also didnt like the concept that when you lost a battle, it gave you an option to retry the battle, rather than starting from the last save. Thats just personal preference though

Other than that, I just dont like how linear FFXIII was, but FF has been linear since FFX, when they removed the world map

XIII fans will like XIII-2, but thats it.

FF 13-2: Same engine as FF13, team more familiar with engine, learning off mistakes, more time to work on the game.

I don't understand why so many people hated FF13. I thought the story was magnificent, the characters were great (though I wanted to kick Snow in the nuts and I wished Hope would grow a pair himself), it was a bit linear through half of the game and the graphics were absolutely amazing. But, all in all, it was a very good and solid, beautifully made game which gave me many months of fun.

@Ohnoezhumenz well the main thing is this "bit linear" with the exception of the one Area on the other Planet the WHOLE GAME was linear from the start to the end just not this one area that aside there were no sidequets/sidestorys at all just these stupid cie'th stones which were only kill this kill that... then there was the brutal battle system where you die in an instant if you dont pay attention the overprized stuff which most of that was completely useless. there was nothing really to do
