I have to agree that most people base their decisions on emotion rather than logic which is why we need some form of law. I would rather the law be based on the majority rather than the minority. It's clear that most laws that have passed was not based on what The People wanted (or knew about). What do you think would be the best and fair way to handle the predicament our country is in? Ron Paul for president may be a good start though he has said some things he shouldn't have.
You people have no idea what you're talking about. The American government is not a democracy and its NOT a republic, it is a nuanced mix. Called representative democracy constrained by the constitution.
@GnomesAmok : please read article 4, section 4 of the constitution. The Framers guaranteed a republican form of government to every state. The United States is a republic of republics.
@GnomesAmok Dude that's like saying "That's not a german shepherd. It's a German Shepherd - Dog". Any representative democracy is by definition a Republic so why you crying? Amazingly you're using the definition of the word against the word itself in an attempt to prove it doesn't mean what the word means. That's like saying "A german shepherd isn't a dog. It's a nuanced mix between a dog and a german shepherd...with a collar around its neck"
America was initially a REPUBLIC, the word democracy never appeared in the constitution or the declaration of independents, this is because the founders new democracy fails and never lasts. They formed a Republic, which is the most fair and stable form of government.
However things have changed, America right now is under the rule of an Oligarchy, a faceless group of powerful elite who control and regulate the country from behind the scenes. NOT a republic OR a democracy.
It's my opinion, sure i can get how that's easily dismissed. But i think all you need to do is look at the state of your country, think about how much say you actually have. Just the other day a Indefinite Detention Bill was Passed in the Senate, which i bet you didn't even know about, but it undermines your liberty in every way. Did you have any say over that? NO. Your government is much too big and has way too much power. Many would agree with me.
Its your OPINION? Its your "opinion" that the government is an oligarchy? So your basically admitting that its not based on fact or information of any kind, its just your bullshit opinion. Your fucking opinion is worthless. How many people agree with you is worthless. What matters is fact and evidence and information. People like you, who go around thinking they know what they're talking about when they have no fucking clue, are the problem.
Alright Mr Grumpy... Well why aren't I allowed an opinion? I'm not saying it's fact or anything i'm just commenting my thoughts.

@skullcrushernz You stated "they formed a republic, which is the most fair and stable..." It seems to be that the "Republic" that was formed has failed and didn't last. Instead of focusing on the so-called failure of democracy which was not the form of the US government (as u pointed out), you should instead acknowledge the failure and fall of the republic. The Republic is NOT and has never been a fair form of government which is why it didn't last.PERIOD.
Very true, but the republic is what made America such a prosperous nation in the first place, but slowly it has been eroded by corruption.
I study Rome, and the exact same thing happened to them. They created a Republic and became one of the most powerful nations, but soon power hungry politicians began dismantling their constitution for their own interests, it soon became a "Democracy" and eventually an Oligarchy under the progression of the Caesars. Then Rome collapsed.. See the paradox?
@skullcrushernz Our system has operated as a democracy. Not a majoritarian democracy and not a egalitarian democracy but a liberal democracy which promote majority rules but combines it with civil liberties and protection for our rights under the constitution. I do agree tat we now resemble an oligachy.
But in a democracy can you really trust that the majority will make well thought out logical, rational decisions, where they have considered different options and sources. I personally don't think they can cause the general public aren't the most critically thinking.. They're basically spoon fed info from tv and mainstream media without actually thinking about it themselves, in other words the public are very easy to persuade. That's personally why I don't agree with Democracy

In it's narrowest definition, a republic is a system of government from which it's authority comes from the people. This means not a monarch. A democracy means people can vote on issues. So, you can have non-republican democracies, like the UK, or non-democratic republics, like Hong Kong. The United States is a democratic republic. Add on to that mixed economy, liberal (as in it grants liberties) and constitutional. This whole idea of republic vs democracy is a joke in the US.
@retartedmorron I agree that everyone should know about their government. But the political system cannot be defined using one word. There is a highly complex system of interrelated institutions that are both democratic and republican. The only term that can be used to summarize the American political system is "The American Political System". Words like democracy and republic are way to ambiguous to expect people on the street to quickly categorize their government into one of them.
@kasraman our government is a constitutional republic where our rights are protected by the constitution and we elect representatives who hopefully run the government the way we want them to. the way we pick representatives is the only thing that is democratic and isn't even fully democratic because it isn't 50%+1 to win an election and the congress doesn't fully make decisions in a democratic way for the same reason. we also use representatives which isn't democratic either.
There is a democracy... It's just a incorporated realm, that functions with limited liability under the constitution. You have a LL entity, your legal person, that the 'State' has legal title to. Therefore they control it and its under mob rule so to speak. Now your rights do not originate from the constitution, it merely enumerates them. You cant step into a court as your legal person and claim rights pursuant to the constitution. Would you claim that your corporation has unalienable rights?
@retartedmorron Socialism, Fascism, Communism, Democracy are all the same it's a flavour of Liberalism and is Financial Oligarchy. Oligarchy is Empire and Globalization is a nice word for Empire. The economic system of Liberalism is Monetarism as opposed to the credit system of the American system. Free trade is king and instead of building up an area creating more wealth the area is stripped of resources as it has no sovereignty.
@lemdixon01 Only one of those falls under liberalism the other three are actually in opposition to liberalism. Maybe you should take a political science class.
@Fuctmentality You saw from the video that people don't know the US is a Republic because of what media, politics and state education has told them. So you propose I should take up a political science course that will tell me that the US is a democracy and not a Republic? The global Liberal political and economic system is a corrupt ideology. Karl Marx believed in the teachings of Adam Smith who believed in Free Trade and was a Liberal. So I hope I have given you something to research further.
@lemdixon01 Actually the ones who said democracy got it right. As we are a representative democracy the fact they didn't also say republic is ridiculous, as democracies are republics. As you seem to capitalize random words you should probably take an English class as well. & What would you prefer to limited representative government & capitalism? Or are you just complaining that Liberalism is corrupt w/o any solution?
@Fuctmentality Way to go bro. Good pointing these things out. I was thinking the very same things. What's more, is simply that the right wing propaganda machine needs to create strawmen to bash in order to get what it wants - this is quite telling about what they are really all about and it's high time that people know the score. Intellectual dishonesty is a poor method to get loyal, intelligent people people on their side - they keep doing this, and they will implode for sure.
@Fuctmentality A democracy makes policies and decisions based on the majority vote and public opinion. A Republic is based upon the rule of law, rules which are made by the leaders who the public vote in. Rome was at first a Republic, then a democracy then an oligarchy with an emperor. The general public don't really know what is best for a countries development as they are not qualified. I refer you to the video /watch?v=KFXuGIpsdE0 Republic vs Democracy
@FuctmentalityThe word democracy isnt mentioned once in the Declaration of Independence or Bill of Rights. Hamilton said "We are a Republican government. Real liberty is never found in extremes of despotism and extremes of democracy" Samuel Adams said "Democracy never lasts long it soon waists and murders itself" Maybe you think these men capitalised on random words and they should have taken an English class. Capitalism is British Free Trade & not Hamiltonian protectionism or American system
@lemdixon01 Yeah, I'e heard this all before, do me a favor, get a dictionary the look up democracy & representative democracy, if you believe the definition doesn't fit the USA, then hit yourself in the head with it. While your at it look up capitalism & republic, as you don't seem to know what they mean either. & No those men don't capitalize words randomly. Seriously take a damned English & a Polysci class. If you don't like that we have a democracy, then don't take part in it.
@Fuctmentality I've read dictionaries and encyclopaedia giving the definition of democracy (the opinion of the masses) and republicanism (rule of law). You're right USA is acting like a democracy right now so it is a democracy and not so much sovereign republic. But it's constitution states it is a republic so the constitution is being ignored. With globalization the world liberal system is controlling nations and is governance above government. We can see this globalized system is dying.
@lemdixon01 No you haven't conservatpedia is NOT a dictionary or an encyclopedia & neither are videos found on youtube.
Democracy= rule of the people,
Republic=the public thing.
The USA is a democracy & has been for over 90 years, in accordance with the laws in the Constitution & Again democracies are republics, Take a damned polysci & English class will you. & For fucks sake learn to use a dictionary.
@Fuctmentality You seem very aggressive. I agree Democracy= rule of the people, Republic=the public thing. In a democracy the public opinion of the masses matters. So your mediocre ideas that you share with the masses would have a voice. In a republic it is the ideas of exceptional individuals take more of a dominance. Try to be more Socratic asking questions and don't believe what is in wikipedia or dictionaries to find the truth as there is a lot of ideology and propaganda bullshit out there.
@lemdixon01 Again democracies are republics. & you just described the united states as a democracy, unless you define exceptional as wealthy businesses. & We aren't talking about truth, we are talking about the meaning of common words. Seriously use a damned dictionary, take some English & Poliscy classes. You can state the USA isn't a democracy, but only if you ignore the common meaning of the word & make up your own, which you can do, but it completely destroys the very purpose of language.
The United States is, indeed, a republic, not a democracy. Accurately defined, a democracy is a form of government in which the people decide policy matters through town hall meetings or by voting referendums. A republic, on the other hand, is a system in which the people choose representatives who, in turn, make policy decisions on their behalf. The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy. Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies.
By popular usage, the word "democracy" come to mean a form of government which the government derives power from the people and is accountable to them for the use of that power. In this sense the US might accurately be called a democracy. There are examples of "pure democracy" at work in the US today that would probably trouble the Framers of the Constitution if they were still alive. Many states allow for policy to be decided directly by the people by voting on ballot initiatives or referendums
If I took any political or economics class I would be like the brainwashed masses who believe in Adam Smith Free Trade and Keynesian Economics. The globalization world dictatorship of the monetarist empire is collapsing before our eyes and you still believe that anything this public opinion society is any approximation of the truth. Science, economics, politics, history is all full of bullshit. Global warming, particle physics, capitalism, communism, free trade all bullshit ideologies.
@lemdixon01 Adam Smith opposed free trade. Take econ & Polysci for gods' sake. Again the USA is a democracy, you can deny that fact all you want but it does meet the requirements to be called a representative democracy since the passage of the 17th amendment. If you don't like that fine, but again when you redefine words for no reason, you muddy the channels of communication. Which I might actually accuse those who keep passing this meme of doing intentionally, if not for they seem too retarded
Saying "democratic Republic" is correct because democratic is a process whereby we vote in our officials. Saying "Democracy" is a form of government which is the issue this video is really dealing with. Many countries claim to be a "Republic" and use it in their title such as Iran, the USSR, China, etc... but it's just a lie while they try to sound like one. In those countries you don't have inalienable rights and local control is nonexistent. In the U.S. local control should be supreme.
@oakn3 Yeah, a Democratic Republic is also called a Constitutional Democracy - though this video never really gives the 'interviewees' that option - they also seem to pick out people that aren't educated enough to realize this. This is right wing propaganda and is intellectually dishonest. James Madison was referring to PURE DEMOCRACY as being vile, and he was right - though the founding fathers championed Representative Democracy.
America is a democratic constitutional republic because the people elect a government (democratic) whose powers are limited by a constitution (constitutional) which outlines the laws and inalienable rights that the government cannot infringe upon (republic). The constitution and the judiciary it affords you (judgement by your peers) is where the laws come from.
A democracy is a type of government where all free people get one vote = Mob rule as anything the group agrees to becomes indoctrinated
Are they trying to change something to make it more republic like? But how?
Are there any country in the world that ideal republic is working? If so, why western world is not spreading the word of Republic instead of Democracy?
There is no copy and paste. When you assume things that are not true then you become a fool.
The US was fine until we converted to a democracy. When the US was a republic, one dollar was equal to the value of GOLD.
The US had no massive debt as a republic. In fact, debt was an extremely rare thing.
It's easier than you think to return to a republican form of government. All it will take is a majority of like-minded people in Congress to vote on that.
A republic is the rule of law. Not by man or special interest groups. The United States was a constitutional republic. People voted in their representatives and president - that was it. Senators were voted in by the representatives - not the people.
In the 1900s when the Federal Reserve, income tax, and change to Senator appointments was established, that was when the Republic died.
We operate like a Democracy today. We vote on people who will spend their money on our pet projects rather than people who are interested in moving the country forward.
Today you have special interest groups using taxpayer money for their own agenda. For example, Obama's "bailout" bill is funded by taxpayer money.
Social security, medicare, etc. is funded by taxpayer money.
Such things are unconstitutional and would not be allowed if people still followed the republican form of government.
As you know, the republican form of government was intended to protect the minority group from the majority group.
It doesn't matter if the minority is the rich or the poor.
In a democracy, which is essentially mob rule and more like what we operate today, we take money from a group of people and distribute it to another group of people without thinking much about it.
The failures of democracy will soon be evident to you.
Soon, our deficit will balloon beyond recovery because it is impossible to maintain a welfare state. Voices of protest will grow louder as one group continues taxing another group and pursuing special interests, and eventually violence will erupt.
A democratic government will eventually collapse with a weakening currency and a dictatorship will be created.
There are many republican forms of government that still work today but they are drastically different than the US because their constitution is far different than ours.
An example is China. China is a communist republic.
Once again, you are not understanding what a republic is.
Read over what I stated: A republic is the rule of law. A republic requires a constitution to be followed.
For instance, the Chinese republic's constitution mandates that it be a socialist government with only one party in power. And yes, the Chinese republic is highly successful.
Our constitution is 100% different than the Chinese constitution. It requires the election of representatives and the president.
Unlike the Chinese Constitution, our Constitution does not dictate which party should be in power.
Rather, our constitution allows anyone to be in the government, but severely limits the power of our government to promote a free market and individual liberty - government independence.
Liberty does not fall in the same line as a dictatorship.
Like I said - we have ignored the U.S. constitution and our rights are being trampled upon. You have government interference in our lives daily.
A constitutional republic that follows the U.S. constitution has more freedom than a pure democracy.
The keyword for the US constitution is liberty - government independence. No, you will not get a helping hand from the government that follows the US constitution. You must help yourself, and so must everyone else, including companies.
The US constitution explicitly bars so-called "handouts" for people and companies. But our politicians ignore it and pursue special interests instead.
And you are really stupid. The US constitutional republic is the oldest republic in the modern world.
Pure democratic governments have never been successful because democracy is simply mob rule. A pure democracy, as evidenced in history always ends in a dictatorship and eventually kills itself.
Your comments only further prove that you have no idea how a pure democracy or even how a republic works.
In a pure democracy, the majority party could easily set up a dictatorship and order everyone to be killed. They have no constitution.
A republic can offer the merits of democracy (i.e. voting for representatives and the president) but also severely restrict the activities of the government to PROTECT the people, such as setting term limits for elected representatives, the president, etc.
The U.S. Constitution was created to protect private property and guarantee a free market.
However since the 1900s, we have ignored the U.S. Constitution and created the Fed, Social Security, and Medicare.
Those three creations are a direct violation of the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which states that what is not granted to the U.S. government in the Constitution is reserved to the states or people.
Social Security and Medicare could be legalized in the United States by creating an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that allows for it.
When you create an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, 75% of the states must approve it before it is ratified.
However FDR and LBJ knew that the States would not approve of Social Security or Medicare so they ram rodded it through Congress instead. Much easier that way to ignore the Constitution.
Look at that! Soc. Sec and Medicare are going bankrupt.
The bottom line is that we operate like a democracy rather than a republic these days.
The public funds are being used for special interest groups of the majority party, ignoring the fact that it is unconstitutional, much like social security.
Remember, George Bush wanted to privatize Social Security and the Democrats didn't let him?
There was just a report out recently. Social Security is projected to run a deficit for at least the next TWO YEARS.
The founding fathers of the U.S. knew that public debt is the biggest enemy.
They also knew that a democracy was not sustainable because it is mob rule and public funds are simply used for the special interests of the majority party.
That is why they created a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC to protect the United States from the errors of democracy. The people could vote for their representatives and president, but they were not allowed to use public funds for private purposes.
Would you rather have a constitutional republic that guarantees some democracy (election of representatives and the president) but protects the people from the errors of pure democracy (mob rule, public funds used for the majority party, etc)?
A democracy is rule by man, as simple as that. The majority party will always have the say.
A republic is rule by law. A republic is meaningless if there is no constitution to dictate how the republic is to be governed. A republic is also meaningless if people don't follow the constitution created for the republic.
No two republics are the same-Each republic has their own constitution, their own set of laws.
Our republic was founded on the basis of liberty, that is, GOVERNMENT INDEPENDENCE.
The U.S. constitutional republic has all the good things of a democracy (election of representatives and the president for example) while keeping the bad things of a pure democracy out by putting severe limits on what a government can do.
Have you wondered why we have retained our freedom of speech for so long? Our right to own and bear firearms? It is because of the constitution.
In a pure democracy, the majority party could take away your freedom of speech and your firearms easily.
Although the United States today is more of a democracy than a republic.
We no longer follow the constitution. For example, Social Security, Medicare, and so-called government handouts and "bailouts" would be considered unconstitutional and illegal back then, because that violates liberty and causes people to be dependent on government.
Today, it's okay to bypass the constitution for these kinds of programs "for the people." So yes, we have destroyed the republic and moved to a democracy.
Ron Paul for president may be a good start though he has said some things he shouldn't have.

lemdixon01 1 year ago
@lemdixon01 you mean the politically correct people of the "democratic" (actually socialist or communist) party?
retartedmorron 1 year ago
@retartedmorron Socialism, Fascism, Communism, Democracy are all the same it's a flavour of Liberalism and is Financial Oligarchy. Oligarchy is Empire and Globalization is a nice word for Empire. The economic system of Liberalism is Monetarism as opposed to the credit system of the American system. Free trade is king and instead of building up an area creating more wealth the area is stripped of resources as it has no sovereignty.
lemdixon01 1 year ago
@lemdixon01 Only one of those falls under liberalism the other three are actually in opposition to liberalism. Maybe you should take a political science class.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality You saw from the video that people don't know the US is a Republic because of what media, politics and state education has told them. So you propose I should take up a political science course that will tell me that the US is a democracy and not a Republic? The global Liberal political and economic system is a corrupt ideology. Karl Marx believed in the teachings of Adam Smith who believed in Free Trade and was a Liberal. So I hope I have given you something to research further.
lemdixon01 1 year ago
@lemdixon01 Actually the ones who said democracy got it right. As we are a representative democracy the fact they didn't also say republic is ridiculous, as democracies are republics. As you seem to capitalize random words you should probably take an English class as well. & What would you prefer to limited representative government & capitalism? Or are you just complaining that Liberalism is corrupt w/o any solution?
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality Way to go bro. Good pointing these things out. I was thinking the very same things. What's more, is simply that the right wing propaganda machine needs to create strawmen to bash in order to get what it wants - this is quite telling about what they are really all about and it's high time that people know the score. Intellectual dishonesty is a poor method to get loyal, intelligent people people on their side - they keep doing this, and they will implode for sure.
StephenWebb1980 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality A democracy makes policies and decisions based on the majority vote and public opinion. A Republic is based upon the rule of law, rules which are made by the leaders who the public vote in. Rome was at first a Republic, then a democracy then an oligarchy with an emperor. The general public don't really know what is best for a countries development as they are not qualified. I refer you to the video /watch?v=KFXuGIpsdE0 Republic vs Democracy
lemdixon01 1 year ago
@FuctmentalityThe word democracy isnt mentioned once in the Declaration of Independence or Bill of Rights. Hamilton said "We are a Republican government. Real liberty is never found in extremes of despotism and extremes of democracy" Samuel Adams said "Democracy never lasts long it soon waists and murders itself" Maybe you think these men capitalised on random words and they should have taken an English class. Capitalism is British Free Trade & not Hamiltonian protectionism or American system
lemdixon01 1 year ago
@lemdixon01 Yeah, I'e heard this all before, do me a favor, get a dictionary the look up democracy & representative democracy, if you believe the definition doesn't fit the USA, then hit yourself in the head with it. While your at it look up capitalism & republic, as you don't seem to know what they mean either. & No those men don't capitalize words randomly. Seriously take a damned English & a Polysci class. If you don't like that we have a democracy, then don't take part in it.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality I've read dictionaries and encyclopaedia giving the definition of democracy (the opinion of the masses) and republicanism (rule of law). You're right USA is acting like a democracy right now so it is a democracy and not so much sovereign republic. But it's constitution states it is a republic so the constitution is being ignored. With globalization the world liberal system is controlling nations and is governance above government. We can see this globalized system is dying.
lemdixon01 11 months ago
@lemdixon01 No you haven't conservatpedia is NOT a dictionary or an encyclopedia & neither are videos found on youtube.
Democracy= rule of the people,
Republic=the public thing.
The USA is a democracy & has been for over 90 years, in accordance with the laws in the Constitution & Again democracies are republics, Take a damned polysci & English class will you. & For fucks sake learn to use a dictionary.
Fuctmentality 11 months ago
@Fuctmentality You seem very aggressive. I agree Democracy= rule of the people, Republic=the public thing. In a democracy the public opinion of the masses matters. So your mediocre ideas that you share with the masses would have a voice. In a republic it is the ideas of exceptional individuals take more of a dominance. Try to be more Socratic asking questions and don't believe what is in wikipedia or dictionaries to find the truth as there is a lot of ideology and propaganda bullshit out there.
lemdixon01 11 months ago
@lemdixon01 Again democracies are republics. & you just described the united states as a democracy, unless you define exceptional as wealthy businesses. & We aren't talking about truth, we are talking about the meaning of common words. Seriously use a damned dictionary, take some English & Poliscy classes. You can state the USA isn't a democracy, but only if you ignore the common meaning of the word & make up your own, which you can do, but it completely destroys the very purpose of language.
Fuctmentality 11 months ago
The United States is, indeed, a republic, not a democracy. Accurately defined, a democracy is a form of government in which the people decide policy matters through town hall meetings or by voting referendums. A republic, on the other hand, is a system in which the people choose representatives who, in turn, make policy decisions on their behalf. The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy. Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies.
lemdixon01 11 months ago
By popular usage, the word "democracy" come to mean a form of government which the government derives power from the people and is accountable to them for the use of that power. In this sense the US might accurately be called a democracy. There are examples of "pure democracy" at work in the US today that would probably trouble the Framers of the Constitution if they were still alive. Many states allow for policy to be decided directly by the people by voting on ballot initiatives or referendums
lemdixon01 11 months ago
If I took any political or economics class I would be like the brainwashed masses who believe in Adam Smith Free Trade and Keynesian Economics. The globalization world dictatorship of the monetarist empire is collapsing before our eyes and you still believe that anything this public opinion society is any approximation of the truth. Science, economics, politics, history is all full of bullshit. Global warming, particle physics, capitalism, communism, free trade all bullshit ideologies.
lemdixon01 11 months ago

In the U.S. local control should be supreme.
oakn3 2 years ago 3
Actually the correct term is Constitutional Republic. Thank you for this vox populi
Zamolxx 2 years ago
@oakn3 No, that is called a Representative Republic, which is what we have.
LouMazero 1 year ago
@oakn3 Yeah, a Democratic Republic is also called a Constitutional Democracy - though this video never really gives the 'interviewees' that option - they also seem to pick out people that aren't educated enough to realize this. This is right wing propaganda and is intellectually dishonest. James Madison was referring to PURE DEMOCRACY as being vile, and he was right - though the founding fathers championed Representative Democracy.

WTH...are we a republic or a democratic republic????? no where in teh constitution it saids the word democracy!
Omarkb24 2 years ago
If people are choosing the leaders in a Republic to lead them... Isn't that a democracy? Also who makes the laws for citizens to go by in a republic?
This is an honest question... I am trying to understand... Please send me your response.
jsmith5549 2 years ago
America is a democratic constitutional republic because the people elect a government (democratic) whose powers are limited by a constitution (constitutional) which outlines the laws and inalienable rights that the government cannot infringe upon (republic). The constitution and the judiciary it affords you (judgement by your peers) is where the laws come from.
A democracy is a type of government where all free people get one vote = Mob rule as anything the group agrees to becomes indoctrinated
zemo231 2 years ago
I don't get this Republic vs. Democracy argument.
Are they trying to change something to make it more republic like? But how?
Are there any country in the world that ideal republic is working? If so, why western world is not spreading the word of Republic instead of Democracy?
allgoo19 2 years ago
Republic is the rule of law, rule of constitution, etc.
Democracy is rule of man, rule of the majority, etc...
The founding fathers feared a democracy because the majority could take away the rights of the minority, their private property, etc...
They eventually decided to give us a Republic that guaranteed inalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The definition of liberty is government independence, aka freedom, capitalism, etc.

Nice copy and paste.
But how does it work by your own word?
Is there any country running what you call "Republic" and successfully?
allgoo19 2 years ago
There is no copy and paste. When you assume things that are not true then you become a fool.
The US was fine until we converted to a democracy. When the US was a republic, one dollar was equal to the value of GOLD.
The US had no massive debt as a republic. In fact, debt was an extremely rare thing.
It's easier than you think to return to a republican form of government. All it will take is a majority of like-minded people in Congress to vote on that.
Democracy eventually kills itself.

uberbcs:
You didn't even answer my questions. It's easy just telling what you know.
Additional question.: When and what incident turned republic into democracy?
I'm still waiting for your answers to 2 questions.
1)How does it work by your own? word?
2)Is there any country running what you call "Republic" and successfully?
allgoo19 2 years ago
Oh yes, I just told you how it works.
A republic is the rule of law. Not by man or special interest groups. The United States was a constitutional republic. People voted in their representatives and president - that was it. Senators were voted in by the representatives - not the people.
In the 1900s when the Federal Reserve, income tax, and change to Senator appointments was established, that was when the Republic died.
uberbcs 2 years ago
We operate like a Democracy today. We vote on people who will spend their money on our pet projects rather than people who are interested in moving the country forward.
Today you have special interest groups using taxpayer money for their own agenda. For example, Obama's "bailout" bill is funded by taxpayer money.
Social security, medicare, etc. is funded by taxpayer money.
Such things are unconstitutional and would not be allowed if people still followed the republican form of government.
uberbcs 2 years ago
As you know, the republican form of government was intended to protect the minority group from the majority group.
It doesn't matter if the minority is the rich or the poor.
In a democracy, which is essentially mob rule and more like what we operate today, we take money from a group of people and distribute it to another group of people without thinking much about it.
uberbcs 2 years ago
@uberbcs redistribution is more socialist than democratic
retartedmorron 1 year ago
@retartedmorron "redistribution is more socialist than democratic.."
I didn't know they were mut\aaully exclusive.
Don't you know any country having both at the same time?
allgoo19 1 year ago
The failures of democracy will soon be evident to you.
Soon, our deficit will balloon beyond recovery because it is impossible to maintain a welfare state. Voices of protest will grow louder as one group continues taxing another group and pursuing special interests, and eventually violence will erupt.
A democratic government will eventually collapse with a weakening currency and a dictatorship will be created.
uberbcs 2 years ago
There are many republican forms of government that still work today but they are drastically different than the US because their constitution is far different than ours.
An example is China. China is a communist republic.
uberbcs 2 years ago

You are in position to convince somebody how wonderful Republic is and you come up with China as the best example? Is this a joke?
There are people trying to get out that country by a boat load, no respect for human rights, oppress people by force, you didn't know that?
Here are other republic nations.
Islamic Republic of Iran
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
They are dictatorship in disguise.
You mean, Republic = Dictatorship?
allgoo19 2 years ago
First of all, you are the one who does not understand what a republic is.
A republic is the rule of law. Yes, the Chinese republic is a dictatorship but that is what their CONSTITUTION REQUIRES.
Article I of the Chinese Constitution: "... a socialist state under the people's democratic dictatorship ..."
uberbcs 2 years ago
uberbcs:
Don't waste your time explaining all the stuff which are not proven.
Answer my question I gave you before, "What country runs their government on republic system
*successfully*." Do you think Chinese case is a success?
Do you mean dictatorship and republic are not mutually exclusive but republic and democracy are? You know how ridiculous that argument sounds?
You want to US to be run as a dictatorship as long as it's a democratic dictatorship? How's that supposed to work?
allgoo19 2 years ago
Once again, you are not understanding what a republic is.
Read over what I stated: A republic is the rule of law. A republic requires a constitution to be followed.
For instance, the Chinese republic's constitution mandates that it be a socialist government with only one party in power. And yes, the Chinese republic is highly successful.
Our constitution is 100% different than the Chinese constitution. It requires the election of representatives and the president.
uberbcs 2 years ago
uberbcs:
"Chinese republic is highly successful"
Show me the link that anybody else but you says the same.
US constitution, article I, section 8:
"(Congress) to pay the Debts and provide for the common defense and general Welfare of the United States."
Quote me which part of 10th amendment contradict this.
allgoo19 2 years ago
Unlike the Chinese Constitution, our Constitution does not dictate which party should be in power.
Rather, our constitution allows anyone to be in the government, but severely limits the power of our government to promote a free market and individual liberty - government independence.
Liberty does not fall in the same line as a dictatorship.
Like I said - we have ignored the U.S. constitution and our rights are being trampled upon. You have government interference in our lives daily.
uberbcs 2 years ago
A constitutional republic that follows the U.S. constitution has more freedom than a pure democracy.
The keyword for the US constitution is liberty - government independence. No, you will not get a helping hand from the government that follows the US constitution. You must help yourself, and so must everyone else, including companies.
The US constitution explicitly bars so-called "handouts" for people and companies. But our politicians ignore it and pursue special interests instead.
uberbcs 2 years ago
And you are really stupid. The US constitutional republic is the oldest republic in the modern world.
Pure democratic governments have never been successful because democracy is simply mob rule. A pure democracy, as evidenced in history always ends in a dictatorship and eventually kills itself.
uberbcs 2 years ago
But that does not mean our politicians have followed the constitution.
For instance, social security, medicare, and yes, nationalized health care are currently OUTLAWED by the 10th Amendment.
But, no, politicians decided it'd be a good idea to get around the constitution "just this one time."
And what a bad idea it turned out to be. Those programs are running on a deficit and are going bankrupt, also adding to the US debt.
uberbcs 2 years ago
Your comments only further prove that you have no idea how a pure democracy or even how a republic works.
In a pure democracy, the majority party could easily set up a dictatorship and order everyone to be killed. They have no constitution.
A republic can offer the merits of democracy (i.e. voting for representatives and the president) but also severely restrict the activities of the government to PROTECT the people, such as setting term limits for elected representatives, the president, etc.
uberbcs 2 years ago
The U.S. Constitution was created to protect private property and guarantee a free market.
However since the 1900s, we have ignored the U.S. Constitution and created the Fed, Social Security, and Medicare.
Those three creations are a direct violation of the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which states that what is not granted to the U.S. government in the Constitution is reserved to the states or people.
uberbcs 2 years ago
Social Security and Medicare could be legalized in the United States by creating an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that allows for it.
When you create an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, 75% of the states must approve it before it is ratified.
However FDR and LBJ knew that the States would not approve of Social Security or Medicare so they ram rodded it through Congress instead. Much easier that way to ignore the Constitution.
Look at that! Soc. Sec and Medicare are going bankrupt.
uberbcs 2 years ago
The bottom line is that we operate like a democracy rather than a republic these days.
The public funds are being used for special interest groups of the majority party, ignoring the fact that it is unconstitutional, much like social security.
Remember, George Bush wanted to privatize Social Security and the Democrats didn't let him?
There was just a report out recently. Social Security is projected to run a deficit for at least the next TWO YEARS.
But no, Dems didn't want Bush to fix it.
uberbcs 2 years ago
The founding fathers of the U.S. knew that public debt is the biggest enemy.
They also knew that a democracy was not sustainable because it is mob rule and public funds are simply used for the special interests of the majority party.
That is why they created a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC to protect the United States from the errors of democracy. The people could vote for their representatives and president, but they were not allowed to use public funds for private purposes.
uberbcs 2 years ago
So, tell me,
Would you rather have a pure democracy...
or,
Would you rather have a constitutional republic that guarantees some democracy (election of representatives and the president) but protects the people from the errors of pure democracy (mob rule, public funds used for the majority party, etc)?
uberbcs 2 years ago
A democracy is rule by man, as simple as that. The majority party will always have the say.
A republic is rule by law. A republic is meaningless if there is no constitution to dictate how the republic is to be governed. A republic is also meaningless if people don't follow the constitution created for the republic.
No two republics are the same-Each republic has their own constitution, their own set of laws.
Our republic was founded on the basis of liberty, that is, GOVERNMENT INDEPENDENCE.
uberbcs 2 years ago
The founding fathers knew that we needed a government to protect our LIBERTY.
But, they also knew that a pure democracy was dangerous.
Therefore, they created the U.S. Constitution to put chains on the government to prevent them from interfering in our lives.
They wanted a government that would protect our liberty - not get involved in our lives.
We have strayed too far from the U.S. constitution and no longer follow it and have an extremely intrusive government now.
uberbcs 2 years ago
The U.S. constitutional republic has all the good things of a democracy (election of representatives and the president for example) while keeping the bad things of a pure democracy out by putting severe limits on what a government can do.
Have you wondered why we have retained our freedom of speech for so long? Our right to own and bear firearms? It is because of the constitution.
In a pure democracy, the majority party could take away your freedom of speech and your firearms easily.
uberbcs 2 years ago
@allgoo19 The United States of America did it as perfectly as possible from 1789 until 2008
retartedmorron 1 year ago
Although the United States today is more of a democracy than a republic.
We no longer follow the constitution. For example, Social Security, Medicare, and so-called government handouts and "bailouts" would be considered unconstitutional and illegal back then, because that violates liberty and causes people to be dependent on government.
Today, it's okay to bypass the constitution for these kinds of programs "for the people." So yes, we have destroyed the republic and moved to a democracy.
