We responded to a call for a workplace accident where the guy had nearly amputated his arm at the shoulder.

I remember watching this in my occupational first aid class before I moved onto becoming a certified paramedic. Half the people were thinking it was like a horror movie..

@Marty32 I have a friend who was burned so severely he can't feel pain in the burned areas and he can't regulate his temperature as well as he could before it happened. He also can't release fluid like he could before, and he wears something on his hand to facilitate fine motor control.

He worked at One World Trade Center and was trapped in the fire, which burned him over 80% of his upper body surface.

I didn't fully appreciate the extent of burn trauma until I met him.
