Yes, we used a car for SAG. Not a problem. The car could drive ahead to the breakfast spot, 1/2 way, or the end and the driver also a rider would then pedal back on the route. Depending on the number of riders in a group, a person could take a turn on one of the days to SAG.
I really like the way you integrated still frame images with video. I noticed no gear on the bikes. Did you have a car follow with food, camping gear, etc.? Was it a hassle coordinating with the car?
The Pacific Coast is Heaven. Biking it gets your senses up close & personal, the best of life. Oregon is hard to beat for its awsome beauty, and you folks have conveyed a good taste of your experiece there. Your smiles & your views tell a great story. Thank you!
@2yung4u -- Travel light as you can, to the point of making sacrifices you can tolerate. You will always be able to get heavier if needed. You may want a liner in your tire to protect your tube. Also, carry a pump, not CO2. Enjoy the trip
Great video! I'm 16 and me and my 2 friends are doing an 8 day ride from Anacortes Ferry Dock to Jessie M. Honeyman State Park. We got all of the directions from the book Bicycling The Pacific Coast. It looks like you guys might have too because we are taking the same route as you guys did. Next summer when we're older we'll do it again to SF, Ca.
Im in tears... Such a wonderful trip you've shared. We rode the avenue of the giants last year. Your video inspires us to try the Oregon coast. Thank you so much.
Lovely...I have been down the Oregon coast on bicycle 4 times. 1981...l990...1997...2002 each time as part of a long tour 97 and 02 Quesnel, B. C. to Tijuana. Each time I get older and wonder if I can still cut it. Next year I will be 63 and hope to do it again Quesnel to Tijuana.
From where? The Oregon Coast Bike Route runs along the coast so you are pretty much right next to the coast the whole way.

370 miles. A rider can comfortably do the ride in 6-7 days. Search "oregon coast bike route" in google for a good map.

We are planning a Portland to Astoria to Crescent City ride, and would like to get your advice, particularly since we are based in So. Cal.
