  • This may not be Trock, but can we call it...Trocoustic? :)

  • Did you deliberately put all your awesome stuff in one corner of your room or is that by coincidence?

  • @MrDoctornator My room is full of awesome stuff. I just shift it around sometimes to fit what I'm singing about in a particular video. (The Doctor Who picture is usually above the head of my bed.)

  • AND STEWIE!

  • I mean first Firefly/Serenity, then Doctor Who... outstanding.

  • The DeLorean crashing into the TARDIS seems to have caused some spatial distortions.

  • You're awesome!

  • Stewie doesn't look pleased with your singing. Don't worry though, I am.

  • You have the shirt I have wanted for a hot minute. So glad to see something new from you

  • You are so fun to hear and watch... thanks

  • Is your uke named after Anya from Buffy?

  • Yep. All of my ukes have Whedon-related names. Echo Lee Kaywinnet (Kaylee), Penelope (after Penny from Doctor Horrible), Anyanka Gwen (Anya), and Darlene Harmony (Joss Whedon worked on Roseanne, and one of my favorite books from my childhood had a character named Darlene Harmony). That is probably way more than you needed to know, but I love my ukulele names. When I get my next one at some point in the future, it will be named November Dawn.

  • Glad to see you survived the Big Apple!

Tell your parents congratulations on their anniversary. We hope they have MANY more!

But Kaylee is very disappointed that you don't love her any more.

  • @matismf NYC was fantastic, as always. I'll be posting more from that trip once WGNAmerica sends me some of the footage.

I still love Kaylee, but she's dreadfully out of tune with no hope of being in tune without new strings, which is a hassle.

  • @live2tivo

One must take care of one's kids, no matter how unruly they may be. And poor Penelope and Harmony feel thoroughly unloved as well...

  • @matismf Haha. Penelope has some tuning issues, too. Harmony is just super temperamental. Her tuning pegs are super sensitive, unlike Anya's. I haven't had to tune Anya in weeks. I check her tuning every couple of days, but it's always good.

  • @live2tivo If you're playing a concert, you ARE pretty much stuck with choosing one for the show. But for your individual videos, you DO have an opportunity to experiment. Are all your songs so similar that only Anya's character is the best fit? Or would some be better with Harmony's, Penelope's, or Kaylee's idiosyncrasies? Yes, it is a challenge to keep all 4 worthy of playing. But that does expand one's range. And isn't that what making music is all about?

  • @matismf Fixing up all of that stuff can get expensive (especially Harmony's tuning peg issues) and time consuming. I only have Anya with me at school, because she's sturdy and reliable. Honestly, Kaylee is a very low quality ukulele. I got her for $20 as a starter uke. I don't play her because Harmony is better. Penelope is a lower quality version of what I get by playing Anya. I could play Harmony now, but I have to tune her every ten minutes, which is frustrating.

  • @live2tivo And those may be valid reasons for not using the others. Some musicians pick a formula and build their entire career around it. If that's what you want, that's fine. Others choose to grow their range. You don't necessarily have to take up steel drums to do that. Each of your ukes has their own character. While Anya is most convenient, it would be good to challenge yourself to choose the one that best fits the song you are videoing. Yeah, it's a pain to retune (continued)...

  • @matismf I do this for fun, because I enjoy playing the ukulele and writing silly little songs about TV shows that could someday help me make connections in the TV industry (some already have), so I can get a job writing TV shows. I'm not saying I want to get in a rut, but I don't have time, for the most part, to get fancy. Anya is convenient and fast and it means I can write more songs. You're reading too much into the fact that I have a favorite ukulele.

  • @live2tivo Sorry! Enjoy your opportunities! And welcome back!

  • Its been TOO long girl! I've missed u.

  • "Of seeing Broadway shows with the original cast

And maybe get an autograph or two"

    Sing it!

  • I love your voice! Also, great song :)

  • You are just to freaking adorable for words
