the military (mainly the army) have a VARY strong relationship with the boy scouts, as a matter of face many scouts have joined some branch of the military because scouting gives them lots of experience in that kind of life style. The army gave the boy scouts there first uniforms when the program was starting up and the military in general supports them openly. Its no surprise to see military and scouts working in concert with each other.
This isn't actually that rare, the BSA and ROTC have a healthy relationship and we often share facilities. Boy Scouts often are allowed to camp on Army or Marine Bases, and we return the favor. Many Rotc cadets are former Boy Scouts themselves, and are familiar with the camps.
the army and especially the national gaurd has always supported the boy scouts. as a boy scout i always was inspired when i saw one at a scouting event, knowing that we as kids were learning some of the core skills that soldiers who defend our country use. people may not understand it, but as a kid, knowing you're somehow, no matter how small, on the same turf as those men in uniform installs a sense of pride in any boy and young man. very good stuff!
you guys are a bunch of weirdos where eles is there a place they can train you wouldnt be mad if they where there an people where trying to kill you let them
if this is rotc training then they are boyscouts.most of them haven't even gone through basic training. a college student can take rotc as a phys ed credit. you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
Oath Keeper in SC, ..just reaching, teaching and inspiring :) Watching too :) . ROTC people usually coord close open areas for short training outings. Only schools real close to suitable military bases use them..coord is too difficult and security is too tight, then travel costs. Yep, they usually get at least one ranger and a SF guy to do the woodsie stuff at most campus programs. (Any woods will do :)
Back in the day when I was trucking all over USA, I noticed an empty "prison" just west of Columbus OH on I - 70, on the North side of the road. Anyone know more about this facility? This was more than 10 years ago.
