Before my mom died, we had an argument in which I fell from grace (maybe we both did) and never fully reconciled before she passed away. It's a mistake that can never be made right until I get to the other side. I was made stronger because I didn't die from it. I'm just as happy as I've ever been, except for that one spot of sadness which keeps coming back now and again. It will leave for good only when I get to talk to her again.
I listened to District Line for the first time today and this song caught my attention, by the third time through it brought tears to my eyes. A moving piece of work that is far from a "sad attempt at poetry." Thanks Bob-- I'm OK, I've been OK, I'll stay OK.
Hey there, always been a huge fan of Bob, Hüsker Dü and Sugar as well. But do you guys know what kind of guitar tuning does Bob use? is it open G? thanks anyway :)
well i saw bobs acoustic tour here in dc and have listened to him for years also and was totaly skeptical of hearing his stuff solo and unplugged and was best damn rock showof my life i was blessed to see it so strangle to each hos own.. love this vid Hail Satan!!!
Been a great fan of bob mould and his bands for years.Fantastic albums from husker du, sugar and his solo stuff, but live it's a different story. It's total Shite. How can anyone who's so great one minute,be so unutterably crap the next? One of lifes great mysteries.
Because it is.I keep going to see him, and have for years, hoping he may one day be good. He never is. He doesn't give a fuck on stage, he rushes through classics, ruining 'em as he goes along. Like you say,it's just my opinion.
@strangled68 The only trouble I have had with any performance was one time at a venue in Lawrence Ks 1999. The sound was so LOUD n crappy it was like having an ice pick stabbing at my ears. That....and I had to get my ticket from Ticket Master.
Don't know if you can call it a shit live performance but his later live performances are definitely more mellow than his Husker Du days. As a huge fan of HD and Mould and Hart in general I'd pay good money to see Mould play "crap" live. My biggest musical hero and would just like the priviledge of seeing him perform.
He's coming to Spain AT LAST!!! One of the best songs from the new album but...what a about Who needs to dream? Or Very Temporary? Or Stupid Now? Or The Silence Between Us? Or Return To Dust?
You are in for a huge treat! The only problem with the show in San Francisco was he only played 2 songs off District Line. I was very bummed he didn't play again and Again. Not sure if he ends every show with the same song. But I was blown away! You will be also.
On one hand, I understand it...Bob's songbook is so huge, there's no way he could play all my favourite Hüsker, Sugar or Solo songs in just one show. That's the problem when you love all his material -even some Modulate songs- ;) BUT...The last and only time he came to Spain was in 94 and I missed it. So, as long as he comes next May, I'll be glad. Even if he plays with an 2 string ukelele.
I love Bob live. This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

as far as i know (well, sugar and husker day) he always used standard tuning. Sometimes using a capo.

Comes off looking like Billy Bragg.

Like Lebowski said, 'Well.. it's just your opinion, maaan...'
And this one from me: How could the one who claims to be a "great fan of Bob Mould" possibly call his live stuff "shite"?

obviously you have never seen Bob live, or the place you saw him had a shitty sound system. I have seen him many times and he's always incredible.

Yeah, folky. Reminds me, in a way, of Richard Tompson with distortion. Always a fan.

i agree but this album is too folk, BODY OF SONG is better

i'd call it less rock, but not folk, really. Still a very good album, although BOS is my favorite, too.

I gotta go with this one as my fave. very consistant.

after listening to body of song a few times a day for the last week I would say it is very good. I might have to agree with you.
