Hey Guitarboogie you are listening to two of the greatest pickers we have ever had,,,and if you can't hear the then go to the tolit and flush withyour biug ass head in the bowl....
@guitarboogieboogie You are a idiot and showing the world how stupid you are. You have no idea what you are listening to. You are clue less. All idiots will show you they are idiots, just listen to the first word out of their mouth. Just as you did.
@redwashre At the time this was recorded, I'm not sure that Chet was the "best guitar picker on the planet", but he was the most recorded solo guitar picker in country music! Best on the planet takes in a lot of pickers, so who are you comparing him with to grant him that title? Just curious??
all u kids shut up. if you're under 60 yrs. old u can't play anyway.like slash said "u had crap for influences".if ya don't comment then u won't look like an A.grow up, u better do it quick. u got a lot of catching up to do.none of y'all leavin' comments are qualified to carry these guys guitar cases.they're passed on and they can still play better than any of you 80's fingerflappers.
That's crazy talk. You have no idea who influenced us under 60s. I gew up listening to my parents' records and would choose stuff from before I was born over 99.999% of contemporary music.
If you're going to make such sweeping generalisations, do it with some charm and class. In other words, act your age!
mystery train is a classic first cut in 1953 by little juniors blue flames @ sun studios in memphis then recorded by elvis. many many people have played this tune , i first heard this song played by the jerry garcia band. jerry and chet are just bubbin on this version. wicked !!!
it's just an electric guitar plugged into a phaser pedal. it's just a sound effect like distortion, echo, etc. You'll hear it all over records of the era, especially Waylon Jennings stuff, he loved it. Jerry used it on "Gator" and other swampy sounding songs that he played electric guitar on.
I recently did a remake of this video with better pictures. It took me a while after i started this thing to learn how to use movie maker..oh well, live and learn.
Who needs video with tracks like that! If your feet aren't tappin'and your heads not bobbin'...you might need a doctor. The Atkins/Reed duets are some of the finest ever. I hope people keep digging them up and sharing them with us.
by the way: WHO are these 5 musical no-counts disliking this ??? THIS IS GREAT!

James Burton would not know where to start on this one. This tune also appears on Me and Chet, an RCA record from 1972 . RCA/ Victor 751004.
Check it out! If you want the full copy of this record, please contact me.

Can someone tell me what instrument makes that signature 70's "wocka wocka" sound? Is it some kind of mouth harp?
youtubblows 2 years ago
It's called a wa-wa pedal
Flashback50s 2 years ago 2
Not talking about a wah pedal. The instrument I was talking about is called a Jews Harp. Found it.
youtubblows 2 years ago
It's not in the song though.
