I am very interested in a gearing system that will give a human powered trike the speed to travel along city streets. Can you direct me to learn more of this type of gearing?
is not as much as gearing as the position the rider seats, normal biking position isn't very efficient as to get all the power the biker can get, if you can seat with your back supported and the legs pedaling at the front, similar of a car driving position you can produce much more pedaling force
Awesome video! Sean's working his butt off the whole way building up speed. But you can see him switch hand positions about 6:14 (just before a mile to go) pulling on the handlebars to really give it power the rest of the way.
he hit's the one mile to go marker at 6:18 and hits the finish at 7:17. For anyone who is not familiar with how this race is run, The racers start 5 miles away from the finish line and they build up their speed until they get timed going through a 200 meter trap. That is how they calculate their speed. If you look closely on the far right of the screen you can occasionally see the mile markers. 5, then 4.5, etc...
i wonder how sweaty and foggy that pod would get after an hour of hard pedalling.

Lindberg almost fell asleep while traversing the Atlantic. I'm sure you found that pointless as well.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. No one is putting a gun to your head, making you watch this vid.

Doesn't hold true for grades/going up hills. You'd be better off on a regular riding position.

@p4t0p3p3 Its the lack of wind drag thats the difference.

It's documentation, not cinematography. Tard.
