the new Rachel Berry. Also, the setting of The Glee Project was competitive. By showing that she was serious about being part of the cast is what detached her from the others. (I'm not saying that the others weren't serious, Lindsay was just more open about it.)

As for Damian, just because they are not having sing Top 40 doesn't mean he sucks. His character is still being developed. Ryan Murphy extended Damian's stay on Glee to give his character more depth. Don't judge if you don't know. (3/3)
