windows mobile 7 is trying to undo wht was going on with its older operating systems. All these OS had like too many options like every vendor had a different UI and they had completely different user experience and had extremes differences in performances like HTC HD2 and i used a phones with 64 ram and 200 Mhz processor.So to undo these mistakes they made a phone with the simplest UI THE TITLE BASED UI (be any simpler it would you would end up with CLI or text based ui ).
We don't need another Mobile OS. Google and Apple's OS' have innovated many new features and add features in each update. Wp7 is just giving less features and putting them in a different perspective. And windows sucks so...

I think you underestimate the fan following that MS has. While I also have not been impressed with Win Phone 7, MS devices do have a lot going for them. (Any OS with enough money behind it would). MS has always created the best development tools and software tech making it super easy to write for their devices and then add in integration with things like Media Center and XBox, and they'll be a player for sure. We'll just have to see where they stand as they won't topple the top players.

I doubt Windows Phone 7 will be a revolution in any sense. Simply stated, WinMobile shot it's users in the foot. Sure, I know... redesign of OS and looking for a sense of uniformity.. but seriously, almost nothing appealing in the way of productivity.. and MS, taking on Apple.. means making your devices accessible in MORE places than Apple; I'm guessing WinPhail7 will be US only... and will require a major update when you first turn it on... consider the flaws and short-comings of Win7...

In my opinion WP7 will be a great operating system. I have had my problems with the iPhone and with Android. Android i especially hate. When I first bought an Android phone it was a great alternative but little did I know that it would turn into one of the most annoying, unrealiable OS to date for me, just a little above windows mobile 6.5. Now my Zune Hd I love. Gorgeous interface, easy to use, and never fails me turn that into a phone (aka WP7 ) and I'm sold!

Android was around for 2 years and there was zero interest in it until past few months when there was heavy marketing for droid phone. Is android a good OS? yes Does it blow everything else out of the water ? hell no. Before you write MS off remember this. Xbox360 Vs Ps3, Netscape Vs Internet explorer Microsoft word Vs Word perfect or their first win MS vs IBM. Always they have been the underdog yet they have always won. So history shows that when Ms gets in a fight look out.
Android was the revolution, but I don't think WP7 is as bad as you say it is. It's meant to be a way to sorta get the stuff you do on your PC, Xbox, etc. in a mobilized form.
Will I get one? Probably not. Is it a huge fail? No, I see many apps already being developed for it and it is a big step for Microsoft.
Windows phone 7 phones (wha??) will be crap. But the quality of the phone does not matter, marketing does. Ergo, it will take a significant portion of the smartphone market.

I doubt Windows Phone 7 will be a revolution in any sense. Simply stated, WinMobile shot it's users in the foot. Sure, I know... redesign of OS and looking for a sense of uniformity.. but seriously, almost nothing appealing in the way of productivity.. and MS, taking on Apple.. means making your devices accessible in MORE places than Apple; I'm guessing WinPhail7 will be US only... and will require a major update when you first turn it on... consider the flaws and short-comings of Win7...

It doesnt have the app support that Android and IOS devices do plus many people dont know anything about it and wont have a clue what its about and stick to Android and IOS because they are familiar with those OS's

Nice show... funny. Well I think that there is no chance for Microsoft in the mobile market now. Its only going to be the war between Apple and Google now. But I personally love iPhone's, I think they are the best.

In my opinion WP7 will be a great operating system. I have had my problems with the iPhone and with Android. Android i especially hate. When I first bought an Android phone it was a great alternative but little did I know that it would turn into one of the most annoying, unrealiable OS to date for me, just a little above windows mobile 6.5. Now my Zune Hd I love. Gorgeous interface, easy to use, and never fails me turn that into a phone (aka WP7 ) and I'm sold!

@xDannyhouston I'm glad I'm not the only person hating Android. You say one thing about it's shortcomings and people get up in arms. I'll def. be getting a WP7 whenever it's out.

I just recently put up a post on Tmonews stating how i hope everyone who is in love with Android and all its shortcomings thus far stay that way and leave WP7 to those of us who want a perfectly working, more organized, gorgeous interface, and more of a "Grown UP Device" to the rest of us who don't buy into Apples hopplah either. Lets face it Android is kinda kidish, but that's just my opinion take it or leave it.

@xDannyhouston I don't think WP7 will be flawless, I mean, first gen phones never are. But I do think that it beats Android out because of 1, only one 3rd party app can run in the background (speed, battery), and 2, the apps have to be approved just like Apple's app store. Android has all these apps, but none of them work together. When you have to replace every stock app to make the phone useable, your OS has an issue. Then it's got so many apps that it is slowed horribly. Go WP7!

I am baffled of the ignorance of everybody commenting against WP7. Sorry to say, I'm disappointed in you Lamarr. If the only reasons you don't like the WP7 phones are because it lacks multitasking with 3rd party apps and c&p, you are very narrow minded. State real reasons why you don't like it, because everybody already knows those two reasons. Do not imput your opinions on others. This is a fun phone news channel, not an opinion channel.

I love everything about WP7. Do I think it will be revolutionary? No, but compared to past Microsoft mobile experience yes. WP7 has what I want, and have never owned a smart phone before.

I say Windows and Apple should just back off or join Android. It's inevitable Android will be the leading smart phone provider. Even without a flawed design of the 4th Iphone it will never even come close to Android. Windows I don't know what sparked them to try phones. I say go back to what they are good at, computers.

You do realize it's the OS they're really trying to sell in that commercial. Not the phone, the phone the images are simulated on is just the basic hardware configuration that the manufacturers have to stick to. Oh, there goes your chance to review it for tehkseven

Android was around for 2 years and there was zero interest in it until past few months when there was heavy marketing for droid phone. Is android a good OS? yes Does it blow everything else out of the water ? hell no. Before you write MS off remember this. Xbox360 Vs Ps3, Netscape Vs Internet explorer Microsoft word Vs Word perfect or their first win MS vs IBM. Always they have been the underdog yet they have always won. So history shows that when Ms gets in a fight look out.

Android was the revolution, but I don't think WP7 is as bad as you say it is. It's meant to be a way to sorta get the stuff you do on your PC, Xbox, etc. in a mobilized form.
Will I get one? Probably not. Is it a huge fail? No, I see many apps already being developed for it and it is a big step for Microsoft.

I will be tempted to get a windows phone 7 device. Some of it's features are pretty cool and stuff. And the basic hardware specs look alright, but we will have to see about price and all that

There can't be a revolution with Microsoft mentality, and that's it. A few technology bright spots here and there does not make their product change the market and they should know that by now. Android and Meego have more chance to be really revolutionary because of their open-sourceness, better yet, their openness.

windows needed a phone that had multi tasking,flash,web cam, basically everything android has but they didnt do it so it will fail..but i agree with some of yall that they could make good tablets but i think android goin to rule that with 3.0 will see i guess
