  • thanks for sharing Mr. Friedman - somehow i missed this one, i've seen your other live video w/ the trio...enjoying listening to your playing: two questions - do you have an album for sale, and are you using your roland fp4 w/ this gig? thanks again

  • Thanks for your comment.

My trio CD is being mixed right now and should be mastered and ready for release within the next couple of months. I will be posting some videos filmed during the studio session here on YouTube once the CD becomes available to announce the release.

  • wow...looking forward to videos from a studio session! my dad and i operate a studio here near harrisburg pa...were you involved at all w/ the engineering of your project? i know nothing can replace a great sounding acoustic grand w/ proper miking and space, but we sometimes use native instruments' akoustik piano, to my ear the best sounding digital piano available (software or hardware)...what kind of piano did you use for your session? forgive me for the relentless chatter :)

  • So much big fat talent in one place and one big time. Masters of their craft.

  • Thanks Don, much appreciated. ;-)

  • Eddie sounds fantastic! What a great band, too! Pleasure to hear you all... smokin!!!

  • Thanks much for the comment.

  • ten thumbs up if i had that many.

what is eddie henderson working on lately?

  • Playing in New York and Europe. Teaches at Julliard.

  • This tune, "Portrait of Jenny" (1948), uses the same chords as Misty (1954) on its verse. I bet that on some level it influenced Garner's verse . Although the chords for the bridge are not the same.

  • Nice one Roger, great playing and a great vibe.

You must love playing with those guys!

  • Thanks Dave. Yes, it's a fun group.

  • Hey, cirtinly sounding great Dave!! Good to SEE you playing ... and in Jersey too. Always liked the acoustic bass the best! Stay in touch> My best,

    BC still in Indiana...(boooo, hiss...)

  • Surprisingly good quality for an open stage setting like that!

    Great playing as always =D

  • Thanks. The nice audio quality results from a combination of direct recording through the soundboard for the PA and an excellent sound technician running the board.

  • Roger this is great. Your playing is always a treat and now I am hearing another very very good fluglehorn player. Man what a way to start the morning. (Yep, I check Youtube first thing in am's) :-)

  • Thanks for the nice comment Bruce. ;-)

  • I love the clarity in the playing, and the superb engineering just lets it shine. The drummer's entrance setting up the bridge is arresting.

  • rather than the digital piano, i think you lot2learn sound very beautiful, thanks for this ballad

  • Thanks for the nice comment.

  • Amazing sounding digital piano too, they seem to be getting better.

  • Hi Roger, great superb work, I enjoyed it very much. Strange that the link stereo, here in Germany is still mono, even if I put &fmt=18.Despite this the sound mono is also ok, because of the great mixing.

  • hmm weird, i hear it in stereo

  • dang if i knew u were going to be playing in princeton i would have gone

  • Superb

  • that was simply brilliant Roger.... i really mean it!!!! i've watched all your videos...and your really have a gift. please take care,

    nate

  • You looked like you were wiping your brow a lot. So how hot was it? Beautiful ballad beautifully played. The audio mix it particularly good.
