  • Today's Epiphones at least for the past 3 years are geared more towards the professional guitarist. Today there the very best in top quality there only down fall today there very under priced for the quality they deliver today.

  • I almost forgot the 2010 model epiphone g400 62 sg also has a snap release wire harnest. To all you gibson standard sg players you have no chance going up against this epiphone sg. And you can take that to tbe bank!

  • I would put the 2010 model g400 standard 62 sg up against any gibson standard sg. And i would take this epiphone sg over any gibson standard sg. To me and many other pro guitarist the 2010 epiphone g400 standard 62 sg is much better than the gibson.

    400

  • With a haritage cherry finish. The neck is a 60's slim tapper 22 frets with a rose wood finger board with rose wood neck binding. 2 volume and 2 tone with heavy duty one inch pots. And top hat nobs.

  • The specks on the 2010 model g400 standard 62 sg is. Grover 14:1 machines. Epiphone usa designed and made classic and classic plus alnico v humbuckers double vacum waxed and wound with enamel wire. The bridge pu is over wound. The body is solid mahogany

  • and the reason why he had his named removed was not only because he did not like the design, but also because he separated with his wife and didn't want her to get anything in the future from their separation

  • Sounds like a generic toy guitar. Get an agile instead.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 are u fucking around or being serious about that? cause im thinkin of gettin one over this guitar

  • @manny45629

Definitely not fucking around. If you want a better guitar for the same price get an agile valkyrie or a dauntless. The valykyrie is the SG style of agiles but the dauntless is more of a les paul style. YOu can find them at rondo music, guitar page 8-11

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 the 2010 modal's epiphone g400 1962 sg have been compared to

the Gibson standard sg. GIBSON USA have also authorized the 62 and 66 modals.

that means they are both true SG's. so the valkyrie is most certainly not! better than the

    epiphone's.

  • @stratdem

I can without any doubt or hesitation say that agile guitars are on par with low end gibsons. And way better than epiphone.

  • @brainboob so why are you here on the epiphone page?

GIBSON USA owns and operates EPIPHONE has since 1957.

the 2010 modal epiphone g400 62 sg and the 66 sg are on

pare with the gibson standard sg and some pro guitarist like

the neck and pickups on the 2010 epiphone 62 and 66 sg's better than

the gibson standard sg's. so i dont know were you come up with

the agile guitars are better? the 2010 epiphone 62 and 66 sg's are

gibson authorized they are real sg's. agile ARE NOT!

  • @stratdem lol the 490r and the 498t destroy those little humbuckers. The humbuckers are so dry sounding. And yes, I own an epiphone g-400 AND I just got an SG standard.

  • the G-400 SG back some years ago would have cost you $700

today the prices have been droped but the funny thing is the G-400 SG

is crafted much better today than its was back when it cost $700.

Gibson/EPIPHONE have crafted a A+ SG this is why more and more

pro guitarist are playing Epiphone G-400 SG'S fore the simple fact the craftmanship is sooo close to the Gibson SG's. simply Brilliant!

  • Nice, You go very fast indeed, the guitar you have is also one of the guitars I wan't. So how did you get so fast at playing? Forced yourselfed? Metronome Exsercises or what?

  • holy crap man

    nice playin dude

i got that exact same guitar and love it

  • I have a question: how do you like your Rocktron Big Crush Comprssor? Would you recommend it? By the way nice playing

  • you faked it....you had the insane rif app

  • what kind of strings use your guitar? o.o

  • yea... that does it, i'm saving up and getting one of these monsters! haha

  • @DarthBiggles same here dude that guitar kicks ass

  • i'm settling on the 310 I think it has comparable sound and it's a hundred less. I mean maybe I can alter the pickups later on but for now its good sounding

  • i wouldn't...trust me on that ..the g-400 feels solid..the 310..feels kinda cheap...you're definitely getting alot more out of the 400..and it's really not that bad.. you can get a white g400 for 299 on guitar center...and the silver burst for 400 and the cherry for 350...so..just check up on all your options first dude..i think i'm gonna get it in white or ebony.. haven't decided.

  • what is so much better about the g400 beside the pickups?

  • i've played both and the g400 seems to be built better.. doesn't feel as cheap

  • i saw a silverburst version of g400 on ebay for like 240$ and so so so wanted it but grabbed a dean custom zone instead.

  • what made you change your mind?

  • Pricing mainly but the dean custom zone has decent pickups and clean sound for its price. I grabbed one off ebay for 160$ but I would like to still purchase a sg in the not so distant future.

  • oh okay..that's cool..i've never played a custom zone..seen em but only online i'm thinking about getting a schecter hellraiser soon...what color did you get? jw

  • the bright green one, it is an amazing guitar for the price. but right now i'm looking at all sorts of weird guitars on ebay with unique tones to them. I am obsessed with unique tones now. Anything from a silverburst les paul to a old soviet stereo guitar, to a ovation UKII intrigue me.

  • 1 thing wrong with ur comment, the cherry is 300 also, trust me. i got it from them for 300 =D

  • @akguitar94 lol sweet dude... good deal then

  • opinions are like assholes everyone has one. i would play 2008 OR 09 Epiphone G-400 SG 62 just as fast as a Gibson SG.

THE G-400 SG 62 is loaded with highend hardware and its Gibson USA Authorized theres my take. the highend hardware on the G-400 SG 62 is for a limited time i so glad i have one.

  • i would also place the 2008 AND 09 Epiphone G-400 SG 62 in the top 15 best crafted guitars.

  • you forgot to mention the '66 is Gibson authorized too :P

  • your right the 66 is Gibson Authorized also

  • Gibson only has done this for a limted time puting highend hard ware on these SG's Gibson did this back in 2007 so its coming to a end. so if you have a 2008 or 2009 Epiphone G-400 62 OR 66 SG hold on to it if you dont i suggest you get one. the Epiphone G-400 62 OR 66 SG is right now the real Deal! heres a little history. Gibson bought Epiphone back in 1957 they started building factories and in 1959 Gibson started crafting Epiphone Guitars.

and been doing so ever since.

  • the 2008 and 2009 Epiphone G-400 62 SG FIRST OFF IS GIBSON USA AUTHORIZED. this means if its a 62 or 66

its a real reissue. the 2008's and 2009's are crafted with Highend hardware.

Grover 12 to 1 ratio machine heads.

locking tune o matic bridge and stop tail bar its the same one use on the Gibson SG's.

Heavy duty tone and volume pots (500's)

also the same ones used in the Gibson SG's.

Gibson designed humbucker PU's with Alnico 5 magnets.

    hand crafted also.

this SG is the real deal !

  • will they have the high end hardware in 2010?

even if they don't ill probably still end up buying one because of old stock.

  • i cant answer that all Gibson told me was the Epiphone G-400 62 SG HAS BEEN CRAFTING THESE SG WITH HIGH END HARDWARE SINCE 2007 AND THEY ARE LIMITED EDITIONS. HE SAID GIBSON WILL STOP CRAFTING THIS GUITAR G-400 62 SG BUT HE DOESNT KNOW WHEN

  • Too bad they are plywood.

  • Mahogany actually... don't know what guitar you're thinkin' of.

  • when the camera blurs your fingers, you know your playing fast lol!

  • yawn

  • r sg's light

  • can you play deathcore or death metal whit this guitar ?

  • the wood of the guitar can do that, but the Pus are maybe not heavy enough.... but replacing the bridge Pickup doesnt cost that much and youll get a very very good guitar, i think

  • Yeah man, an SG is one of those guitars that can be used for several different types of music

  • thanks dude i but the guitar but in white color

  • The sg was once named les paul and les paul does not play heavy music and the sg was originally made for girls.

  • Stop smoking crack.

    Thanks.

  • ignorant!!!

  • The SG was a Les Paul, but it was designed without his input and he thought it was ugly and did not want his name on it. It had nothing to do with Les Paul not playing heavy music, and it was not designed for girls.

Therefore, I asked you to stop smoking crack. So, please, for those that love you, stop taking drugs - or at least saying stupid things.

  • Thanks for setting the record straight (Trucky..)

  • @TruckyNiggets nope ur wrong, les paul didnt thought it was ugly, les paul didnt want the devil horns,he kind of believe in satan or something

  • @hangen1 Yes, you got it. Because the SG is THE guitar, in fact the official, guitar of Satan and the hosts of Hell. Les Paul was originally a Templar sworn to the fight against the forces of evil. When he saw the SG and the devil horns he at once knew that thrash and stoner rock was an inevitable result. He asked Gibson to abandon it because of Old Scratch, but they refused. He petitioned the last Grand Master of the Templars to destroy Gibson entirely, but they refused.

  • @TruckyNiggets Lmao dude. That, was funny.

  • Comment removed

  • the sg was originally made for shorter people becouse the body is smaller it fits better. i mean. angus young, you dont see him wth a les paul:P

  • actually it was build to succeed the les paul because they wanted a more futuristic looking guitar

  • @trousien I could have sworn I read that the sg was made because they wanted a guitar to compete with the telecaster.

  • holy crap u good

  • dude, you're good

  • what amp is he using

  • hey is that sg a 66 with the full pickguard or a regular with half

  • nice one!! i have the g400 custom. nice piece of kit!!

  • is that the white one with the gold hardware

  • yeah.

  • dude wat amp do u use??? i am going to buy this guitar...wud anyone recommend a good amp for it?? THANX

  • Depends on what you gonna use it for - performimg or exercises. If you are into metal and want a small training amp, I recommend Roland Cube 20x. It kicks some major ass. If you like blues or similar - try Vox AD15VT. As far as bigger amps, well, there's a whole bunch of good gear. In any case- go to a guitar shop and test every amp you can afford.

  • Heh Heh Mein Gitarren Kollege, das ist wirklich nice was du da ablieferst Compliment on you !!! In der nächsten Zeit wirst du mal was von mir hören!!! xD

  • omg dude ur like the only kid on youtube with the same guitar as me dude dose the finish have like crazy stripes in the wood grain?

  • good job. nice guitar too.. sg is the way to go

  • An SG for Metal? that's hmmm to me. People look at these youtube videos and don't realize the amp makes a huge difference. I could get a pino guitar and run it through a Recto and have it sound like this. Not to mention running high gain throws your technique down the drain

  • i use an SG for metal(Core). pretty good for lead, its a prophecy , came with emg's. good guitar, i'd recommend it, about 650 american

  • is this guitar good

cause i was gonna buy it off ebay

  • wow dude you can shred!!

  • i just came

  • Nice dude!!

  • ok thanks

  • Ive got the epiphone SG g-400 and its very good guitar it has a warm clean sound and really rusty distortion...But the neck of SG is the same as Les Paul... Ive try this two guitar in music shop...They r both good guitar... ROCK ON!!

  • Actually it depends most of thetime the sg neck is thiner but most of the time people eye it when cuting the neck to speed up production in china and other places. Really your sg should be smaller, or the les paul is too small neck.

  • i want to ask you if the SG epiphnone has the neck more thicker than let's say Les Paul epiphnone??

  • wow

  • This is gonna sound like a really dumb question, but I'm thinking about getting anew guitar and right now I'm in a band who's sound is kinda like part Foo Fighters and part U2. I do rhythm and lead for the band, would this be a good guitar to go for?

  • to play foo fighters and u2, it would be better a les paul. foo fighters needs some good distortion. u2 is clean. sg´s are not good at all for cleans songs.

  • What kind of music is the SG best suited for?

  • hard rock and metal

  • ur an idiot, sg's sound awesome clean... ask robby krieger

  • @totoctba Rap and pop :)

  • Metal! rock and Hard.

  • @jazzman2021 I'd also say it's pretty good for blues :P

  • @jazzman2021 ACDC! xD

  • That is not true. if you have a nice amp. you can get really good clean sound. But afkors you must know how to use your amp. Ive got my Behringer V-ampire LX 210 and its great. Lots of effects...clean and really nasty metal sound..how you wish... Keep on rockin bro

  • Not true, jazzy stuff is great on an sg.

  • Not true, SG is for hard rock, listen to AC/DC! :D

  • its not for jazzy shit!! its for HARD ASS ROCK!!!!!

  • Hard Rock 1st of course . . .but jazz, blues etc. all sound great on an sg as well.

  • everything is its just the pedal that really makes it wat it is

  • @totoctba

You have got to be joking (or retarded) I have an SG and it is AMAZING for playing clean. No guitar in the world is bad through a half decent amp played clean. It's all about the player and clearly you are shit.

  • @figaz555 ok smart guy. you're right: to play emocore the clean sound may do the job. but try to play something rough in that guitar then. play it like a man. try to equalize the sound of a stevie ray vaughan, who has a good stratocaster. good luck, and keep up the free and ridiculous hostility. ;)

  • @totoctba

Ok then obviously I went a bit far. But clearly if you knew what you were talking about you would know the rythym pickup is great for Jazz and some blues tones.

  • @figaz555 amigo, it's obviously playable in a SG. but my point is that a clean stratocaster or telecaster is, also "obviously", bether to do that kind of music. don't you agree, my friend? or do you think hendrix, srv, eric clapton and the most blues players don't play a SG for coincidence? SG is better for hard rock, like ac/dc, or metal, like system of a down. that's what i'm talking about.

  • @totoctba

No I think we will have to agree to disagree.

  • @totoctba i've been watching your conversation and i have too ask because i'm interested in this guitar..Can i play a Red hot chili peppers' or a jimi hendrix song decently??or it's strictly for metal and hard rock?

  • @TitoPaokG4 if you want that kind of song, you may like a stratocaster. see in my other videos my antique band playing "snow" from RHCP. i had this SG 3 years ago. now i have a stratocaster and the sound for RHCP and Jimi is a lot better. with the SG, it sounded like a "banjo" ou something weird. the clean sound is not that good. a stratocaster can do it much better. when i play with my band again, with my strato,, i will record and post it here.

  • @totoctba I prefer metal and hard rock. Although I want to play with clean sound also. Check out this video /watch?v=1N-UMbJyUvk&feature=related. Clean is fine.

  • does the epi g400 stay in tune or is it a pain in the ass?

  • I am buying a black one tommorow YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • same here dude, cant wait to take her home and bust out some SLAYAAAA ?!

  • i just bought one, in heratage cherry, and this guitar is fuckin tits

  • hummm wuts better epip g400 or gibson faded sg?

  • probably the gibson...because it's gibson. but id say the g400 is better for the price

  • Play them both and then decide. In *my* opinion, a higher-end Epi is better than a lower-end Gibson--more guitar for the money.

Try both out. Name and price do not necessarily mean anything.

  • I just bought an Epiph g400.

It's awesome, but a Gibson is a Gibson.

But i do loooooove my guitar.

  • the guitars are actully pretty good

i own own and i love it!!!!

  • did you use any distortion

  • ofcourse he did you idiot!!

  • DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what settings do u use on your Behringer GDI V-tone?

  • my epiphone SG Prophecy Ex sounds AMAZING on my behringer GDI-21

  • I just want to see someone play ACDC on this thing!

  • i agree i wanna buy one buyt i gottta no how it sounds with the best band in the world

  • If you mean ac dc i definitely agree

but im getting it next month

    YES!

  • hah thats exactly what i was talking about and cool man

  • NICE

  • yep thats it i have just reserved one to pick up on saturday anyone got any pointers for me

  • just technical...no heart!

  • yah thats why i hate this stuff, i know it takes skill but it can't move a person and has no feeling, and like that one guy says it's no heart.

  • I agree with you...Ok they are very good, capable but it doesn't transmit me NOTHING...

you know what I mean ;)

  • omg im not alone lol im tired of hearing the same widdly widdly stuff great if u can do it but it doesnt appeal to me.

  • he says its him warming up, jackass

  • agreed 100%

  • I have an epi. sg400 off ebay fot 100 quid. Built as good as Gibo's but pickups are poor. Changed mine to GFS loudmouths. Now it rocks and looks cool

  • wow dude! i don't know what to say! you're just amazing guitarist!

  • I was thinking of buying this guitar, and now I'm convinced. Fav'd and 5 stars :D

  • How old are you, and awesome playing too. I'd love one of those guitars.

  • I need some advise on this pedal(V-toneGDI).. mine has my Drive on 2 o'clock. Treble on 10 o'clock. Bass on 11 o'clock.. And my AMP on BRIT, MOD on HOT, and MIC on CNTR.. what about you?

  • i have the same guitar but a Line6 spider III 15 watt amp

  • hows the sound? i have that amp also and im thinking of buying this guitar

  • dude-that thing sounds amazing!> I'm planning to buy an SG, is it worth it?

I'm more into metal, so i have to choose between this, and an Ibanez of the same price (they are both $299) I don't know what Ibanez I wil pick, but should i get this or an ibanez?

and have u put any EMG pickups in it or somethimg, or are these stock pickups

  • those are stock babyy

  • the SG has good sound, but if you play metal a Les Paul would have a heavier sound, although SG's are very light and thin, compared to the Les Paul's heavy, bulky body.

  • i have an sg it is my favorite guitar and you should realy consider buying one IbaneZ is a cheap brand dont let them fool you i own 6 guitars sg les paul fender strat fender mustang and two old jazz masters(they were my dads) and my favorite is either the sg or the strat ohh and NEVER buy a squire strat its made by fender but it Sucks

  • y es modelo les paul mi guitarra y en 15 dias tengo la gibson

  • speak english or die fool!

  • folse trucho no lo tas tokando yo tengo una epiphone gold y esa cancion no se tok asi tas confundido en las escalas y la proxima ves trata de empesar a tokar al mismo tiempo q empiesa la musica de tu pc gil!!!!!!

  • i got the epiphone sg g-4oo in black yesterday it rocks!

  • i got one for christmas too man

    its awesome

  • igot the same guitar

  • give this boy a gibson?

  • agreed dude... why does he play on some shitty ass guitar when he's way too good and should be playing on a gibson...

  • it could be possible he dosnt have the money

  • how the fuck is a g-400 a shitty guitar. don't reply

  • they aren't i bet hes never played/owned one before.

  • if he played that on a gibson i would slap him, thats a disgrace to a gibson sg, and even listen to that man, that epiphone sounds pretty sick, im not sure what hes got in ther, but some seymour duncans or emgs, thats guitar rips for an ep

  • how is that disgrace to a gibson sg? he can play whatever guitar he wants in any style he wants. it doesnt matter.

  • cause gibsons les paul or sgs arent ment metal type music, ment for classic rock, he should get an esp

  • Shit, dude...As skate4life said, you can do whatever you want with what you have. Look at Tony Iommi. Sure, he played rock, but it sure sounds like not-gay metal to me.

  • hes good to but jimmy page is a god

  • there is no point they sound virtully the same and epiphones are alot cheaper. just got one for christmas great guitar

  • Amen bro, amen. I could use a better one tho, i got a standard

  • The G400 is in no way, shape or form, a shitty guitar. These things rock almost as well as a gibson and with a bit of setup work they can be as good as a Gibson.

  • that's not true i mean you could do that and it could play well but these guitars all have dead wood, and no tone to it, i know because my friend has one and compared to my gibson it sucks

  • yeah i'd have to agree i own a g400 with a maestro and the sound isnt as nice as my friends sg. and the neck is not only super wide but the fretwork was like that of a starter guitar.

  • Great vid and im getting a SG after christmas

  • I have the blue metallic one:)
