  • He will use the cheat-sheets to remember and to follow the word lyrics occasionally as well for his own songs from his Musical scores - where he also wrote the lyrics himself. Hey, if it helps him to play the piano so incredibly, it wouldn't matter to me if he used a karaoke machine to read them. :)

  • OMG!!!! LOOK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO WHEN IT CLOSEUPS ON THE PIANO, he has the words for the song sitting on the piano, but then again he doesnt right his songs, he just sang them.Bernie Taupin did. but still, you would think he would have memorized them by now, right? also you can tell hes reading them because he looks down that way majority of the song

  • @DarkstarPiano That's close :)....all of the piano writing is Elton's, so technically he didn't just sing this song but is also playing a song on piano that he wrote the melody for, which is "usually" how they work, since Bernie does not ever write the Piano part, most of the time just the words :)

  • @DarkstarPiano .....so basically the way the piano is played (and) ...the way the melody is finally decided upon to be sung, is 100% Elton.....no offense to the lyricists, et cetera. Like your post though, funny about that.

  • So? Lots of bands have monitors near them with the words on...

Just in case you have a brainfart onstage and forget the lyrics it's good to have them around.

  • The Best !!!

  • My song!

  • His music gets better and his voice gets more emotional and powerful every year. Sir Elton is brilliant.

  • have a listen to an original called "In your mind by andrew gerbasi" He's a big Elton John fan. See if you like it.

You could always send away for the single on Amazon or buy the album songs from the West Coast.

  • @JareBear07 "Songs From The West Coast"

  • To grab this mp3 click to everymp3rip doht cohm.

  • I love Elton John because he's timeless but it says something about our music scene today when young kids fortunately recognize this as good music.

  • @stanfan27 I do.

  • where can i get the sheet music for this song at?

  • @777christianboy Internation Music Publications do the whole album for piano, with chords boxes.

  • Fine wine indeed! Elton's new album The Union, with Leon Russell is a classic

  • Elton !! Cheers and I'll enjoy a spliff in yer honor my friend !

  • @mocus1 That makes 2 of us.

  • Elton is like a fine wine that only gets better with age, truly one of the all time greats.

  • @tennis12456 - It's true, he's wonderful!

  • great!

  • That's how Top Of The Pop should be... LIVE!!!!No play-back shit like others.....

  • GREAT performance of a truly great song.

  • God Bless U.P.S. Rose & Maryann

  • his voice has always had a beautiful melancholy tone to it. He really shines on this song.

  • That easy talent is so seductive ... hey, I'm straight but, what the hell :) Live and let live.

  • Dat bad bum bandit! Feels SO GOOD ... upside right ... don't stop ... me want more ...

  • Does anyone know where I can find the music video with Justin Timberlake in it?

  • @Josh471776 watch?v=BKswJVBi8n8

  • @Josh471776 why the hell would you want it with Justin Timberlake ?!??!?!?!! THIS is all you could ever need !

  • @piip91 Because I wanted to see the actual music video.

  • i love elton john

  • I love Elton John, but playing with Lady Gaga was so degrading to him, ya' know? An amazing artist of his caliber shouldn't associate himself with such a talentless freak like her.

  • mto linda essa musica, pena q naum tem legenda!!!

  • amazing voice~

  • you cant compare elton, freddie or any other. they are all different in a unique way

  • Linda demais essa musica.

  • Boy, Elton came back in a big, bad way with this great tune, didn't he?

  • its gets better everytime u listen to it too

  • @shiftywayner

his best song for 25 years..

  • I used to be the main express

All steam and whistles heading west

Picking up my pain from door to door

    Riding on the storyline

    Furnace burning overtime

    But this train don't stop,

    This train don't stop,

This train don't stop there anymore

  • Elton John is better than Freddy Mercury, hands down. Elton's piano skills are amazing! I've studied some of his piano parts

  • @pieguy130 yeah, i mean it doesnt really NEED studing... although, elton has improved seince he was younger. BUT freddy is a MUCH more powerfull singer than Elton

  • You may not believe it

But I dont believe in miracles anymore

And when I think about it

I dont believe I ever did for sure

All the things Ive said in songs

All the purple prose you bought from me

    Realitys just black and white

    The sentimental things Id write

Never meant that much to me

  • The drummers are Nigel Olsen and Roger Pope.

  • Not quite, it's the usual line-up of Nigel Olsson and John Mahon.

  • Elton John Song is So Good.

  • wonderful song! simple melody, great modulations, another work of a true genius.

    Go, Reg, go!

  • plus the lyrics are great too

  • what would do without Sir Elton?! i think is he one of, if not, one ot the best exports of the uk. He knows how to touch your heart and makes your spine tingle! top tune as well

  • The live version really sounds a little lack of energy and sort of tiredness. However, the studio version really touches me.

  • He still releases albums. He ain't touring for the money. He has enough money.

Madonna tours for money. Rolling Stones tour for the money. Paul McCartny tours for money.

  • Elton john only ever came second to freddie mercury, which means he is now the best living pianist and singer. Iron Maiden are not in Elton john's league, and the beatles come third behind Elton and Queen.

  • probably the most rediculous thing i've ever read. what exactly is the criteria that makes your point valid?

dont get me wrong i love this song. but this is the most narrow-minded comment i've heard in a long time.

  • freddie mercury wasn't a good pianist, and even though i love elton, he wasn't as good as the beatles

  • NIGEL O!! How great to see him back.

  • furnace burning overtime

  • Songs from the West Coast - what a great album that was. In an interview he said "that's the west coast of the USA, not Barnstaple" lol

  • in my opinion his best song. love it.

  • it's just great :}

  • Oh my goodness, this is impressive. I simply love Elton more than I love life it self. (;

  • El video orignal no se consigue no ?

  • WOW!!!

  • i love this song!

  • Gee whizz. This sounds perfect. I didnt realize it was live. I had the window closed. He is amazing.

  • Great tune by the one and only ! Elton , hes the best . Super post !

  • Fantastic Music: This Train Dont Stop There Anymore

  • fantastic!!!!!

  • I love Elton John!!! One of the greatest composer of our time!

  • Songs from the Westcoast, is (imo) the

only Elton album that even remotely compares

to his prime of the early to mid-70's. There

are good songs sprinkled through the 80's and

90's in his career, but most of his GREAT work is in his twenties.

  • i still dont understand how brits dont sing with accents

  • ummm, david bowie ?

  • ummmm, camilo sexto?

  • Elton John, the gratest singer and song writer of the world. maybe a living legend. Thenkas for all, Sir Elton John

  • @ThePhenomOfDarkness Actually credit must go to Bernie Taupin for the lyrics. Elton writes the music, Bernie writes the lyrics - great partnership! :0)

  • @cocobandit hay hay ;-),

yeahr, you re right !!!, really great partnership !!!,...... .

  • @ThePhenomOfDarkness Elton is great, but you need to give Bernie Taupin credit for writing most of the lyrics :)

  • @88KeysofFreedom yeahr your right !! Bernie.... has his great part on his side.... and yes,...:-) he write the most of the lyrics.... grat !!! ;-)

  • @ThePhenomOfDarkness Your comments about Elton being the greatest song writer of the world is only partly true. Elton only writes the music and his partner Bernie Taupin writes the lyrics. So I guess some credit should go to Bernie as well.

  • was it ever in your conscience that elton didnt write that song?

and perhaps its bernies words being sung through elton?

  • Songs aren't always meant to be taken literally. I am sure Elton still loves his old songs.

I mean, would you call "Rocket Man" fake because he isn't actually an astronaut?

  • This song isnt about rockets. Its about Elton's career. I just got the impression with this song that Elton was turning his back on everything that has made him famous.

  • Yeah i know this song isn't about rockets. I was making a comparison. If thats what the song means to you, super, no one can tell you thats wrong, since its your interpretation.

However, i don't think its wrong to suggest perhaps a different one, since Elton still tours almost all the time, and performs all his older stuff. If he didn't like his old career he could easily rest on his laurels

  • No... He's talking about how it can easily become too much. He's not turning his back on it, just saying how hard it is, and how it takes it's toll.

  • perfect...

  • John Mahon looks like he's laughing 1:40-1:43

  • yea lol

cuz did u see what elton did at 1:38-1:39 it kinda is haha

  • There must be video for every song he has ver recorded!! Superstar

  • Ahhh, perfect!!!!!!!!! :)

  • Pure Class

  • Yesssss!

  • More one beautiful music!

  • i love this song with a passion!

  • Happy 61st Birthday Elton

  • The Best Song Ever !!!!!!!!!!

  • Agreed.

  • this is such a sad look at life. Considering what he must have gone through as well.

    Simply a great "mid-life-crisis/looking-back" song!

  • Elton John and Bernie Taupin.. best duo ever!

  • this is the only elton john song i like.

  • If you like this song, you would probably like "I've Seen That Movie To" from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, they are quite the same.

  • Greatest songwriter in history.

  • bob dylan? deff better. elton john has got him is musical ability and singing though

  • Do you have the entire show ! Thats really good , the '' birds '' is so well plaied !! It was but it has been removed !! Thanks

  • When was this song released?

  • around 2000

  • 2001

  • skip to 1:38 what was thattt?!?!!? ahahaa

we love ya elton you are the greatest writer and performer in history.
