@brandxdog7 thee shells are in a cluster, in a brass shell covered in plastec, with gun pouter and primer in the back, primer at the back. the fireing pin egnites the primer, wich ignites the powder, wich flings the shells and gets rid of teh plastic at front. thats how i understand it to be.
Kinda cool how the op-rod on the side kicks the spent brass of the previous shot out by tapping gas off the current shot... just neat how these things work ^^
@siesonekmk Then it was the later models that didn't have the cylinder winding key. I heard that part was absent from Striker variants.
Thanks for the info, but after I first saw this video, I realized that it was the Protecta, seeing as how it has the auto eject capability, I just wasn't sure about the winding key.
@siesonekmk I could say we shoould have bought them before the bans but reality is that when gun broke it's a doorstop. My old Mossberg 12 ga with the adjustable stock/handguard conversion is far more reliable.
@peterann1 It's not really even relevant anymore. My AA-12 with 30 round drum would put the "street sweeper" to shame. The Protecta was ground breaking when it came out but now, it's just a old and klunky way to do a semi-auto shotgun.
@lalaraeray777 Early examples had problems overcome over time. I have seen the demonstrations. Shotguns with removable magazines are 'afeared' as 'assault weapons' and face bans in many places. New design firearms no matter how innovative in design always present a problem when they break...and they do...with commensurate problem to find parts immediately. Cherish the old and preserve your rights for firearms ownership. 9 rounds in a pump shotgun gets 'winks'.
@keospin2legit First of all, yeah, I see the darn title, it's called a Protecta shotgun. But from a technical standpoint, a true Protecta does not have that large winding-key on the front of the cylinder. The original design had the winding key, that's what differentiates a Striker (the original) between the Protecta (the update).
Furthermore, that comment is roughly two years old, silly. =P
@Kylef7735 If you mean a single-action revolver, you're right, this loading design is very similar. It's really cool to see the same concept applied to a combat shotgun. I would assume this design isn't used more because, despite how simple it is, it's not the most convenient thing to load. =/ At least when you compare to shotguns like the SPAS-15 or the Valtro PM-5 that have detachable box mags.
@VolcanosGoBoom i mean like a revolver with a loading gate, where you flip the little slot open and put in one round, then rotate it one click, then do another round, and so on.
@VolcanosGoBoom actually this is a striker 12 gauge which is semi auto with a 12 round mag, the protecta is a twist/pump version for the public to own also with a 12 round load!
@VolcanosGoBoom to reload it you basically put the shells in where they are coming out in this video, then you turn the key on the front of the drum to roll up the next slot
make engl. subtitles pls.

Geez, would it kill them to show the reloading process! I'm really curious to know the whole reloading process.
Is this a Protecta or a Striker? Because I noticed it has the cylinder-winding key.
VolcanosGoBoom 3 years ago 15
@VolcanosGoBoom It's the Protecta model. Notice the auto eject of the spent rounds and the ejector rod located along the barrel.

@peterann1 the aa-12 is the most reliable and accurate shotgun in the world it has 7 different stainless steel parts and lubricates and cleans itself

@VolcanosGoBoom
There are alot of shotguns with a cylinder winding key. you reload it by stuffing the shells into the hole on that ejects the spent shells.

@VolcanosGoBoom yes, yes it would

@VolcanosGoBoom yup its a striker kinda like in mw2 but with a stock
xXBladeXx4141 7 months ago
@VolcanosGoBoom Go watch a video of a revolver with a loading gate, not one where the cylinder swings out, its the same thing.
Insert shell, wind to next chamber, insert shell, wind to next chamber, and so on.
Its really really simple, i dont know why it isnt used more.

@MrHoltzman777 no, the protecta is just the version that auto ejects spent shells.

@VolcanosGoBoom Striker is older model. Protecta is slightly newer which auto-ejects spent shells.
This is the Protecta model.
