  • I was at that show! amazing!

  • lol i never see this master using wooden sticks XD

  • @EvilN00ber Why not? That's his signature stick..... lol

  • Ohhhh shit, right in the double bass part, the video stops!!!!!!!!!

  • Korn and Disturbed in Lacrosse baby!!!! March 21.... its gonna be sick!!!!

  • cant wait to see Disturbed and KoRn at the Halifax Metro Centre!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • je

  • best drummer to play bass guitar with lol :)

  • Ok then

  • BEST..... GOTEE....EVAR!!

    thumbs up if you agree

  • Thats not a sound check! He's playing VOICES!!! Look up the drum cover!

  • @JeffreyDavid01 This footage was recorded at the band's soundcheck in Nashville, TN.

  • @PearlDrumCorp hell yeah nashville

  • yea if u look up above him, there in no crowd in the stands, they were probably doing sound and light checks at the same time. plus he isnt wearing his live clothing, and playing as hard and headbanging like he normally does

  • @JeffreyDavid01 I dont hear any crowd

  • @JeffreyDavid01 normally for a sound check a band will go through a song

  • @JeffreyDavid01 it is a soundcheck, bcause the frickin arena or whatever they are playing is empty...

  • Yeah what´s with the haters anyway? He´s not Tomas Haake or something but his playing is very clean. He´s not the fastest ever but he sounds very confident and what he does he does it easily. And when he plays the songs the timing between the double bass and the bass guitar is simply perfect. He gives the perfect background for the band to sound pro. I like his sound very much. Plus his style is different from others. Wrengen is one of the pioneers of the modern metal sound.

  • @meetaldrummer47 The song is voices

  • Song?

  • @metaldrummer47 the song is voices

  • hate to say it but hes the only really good part of the band

  • should have keep the video going it sounded sooo Sick

  • Comment removed

  • disturbed disturb my live!

  • esa cancion es voices xd

  • sexy snare sound quality

  • he is using a pearl snare with remo parchs

  • what snare drum is he using

  • Pearl Reference 14x6.5 steel

  • voices

  • Voices

  • hes playing voices

  • I wonder why he uses evans hydralics?

  • hard hitter?

  • they are really boxy sounding and great for close micing.... they probably sound great to his ear, he may like less overtones...

  • @quackbeef Man I love overtones. Jazz uses maple drums for those warm open smooth tones, metal usually uses steel for the "bite", and I have no category, but I like brass for those wet ringy overtones. They give so much attitude and I love em!

  • what snare is that?!?! :0

  • pearl reference

  • it depends on the drummer i know a lot of drummers that tube there own sets. therwise it wouldnt be a signiture sound.

  • the tech does most of the tuning you n00b. the artists basically comes in nd plays. the tuning. set up and care is all done by the drumtech while touring

  • To a point that is true. The drummer has their preference about the tuning (i am a drummer and have gigged with a roadie) and what happens is simple trial and error with the roadie meets the drummer showing them what they like. Then the roadie can just step up and tear down and do his job with ease.

  • Mike is awesome.

  • great set up though !!!!!

  • DISTURBED 4 EVER !!! Great set !

  • That wasn't a sound check that was a part from Voices his real sound check would be 6x better than this

  • Nope, this is the sound check. The musicians don't play as well as they can because a sound check is only to set levels for the mics and emps etc... And besides. So not alot of effort required. It just sucks i your the engineer, because you have all of those mics to set levels for lol

  • that deff was a sound check because drumers have to tune there drum and make sure it sounds good and that all the drums are intuned with eachother. trust me. im a drummer iknow.

  • if you're waiting until the sound check to make sure your drums are tuned correctly than you have some major problems.

  • its a soundcheck dude, they have to make sure drums are intune, and that the sound is ok and ready, i'm not an expert but, that deffently is a soundcheck

  • yeah my bad i looked at someone elses sound check and it was crazy because this other guy was showin of so yeah sorry about that

  • like shannon larkin

  • he is famous!!!

  • More famous than most. Best drummer ever famous. That's what I mean.

  • It would be hard. The reason why so many drummers don't get more famous then what they should is because of the music genre they are in. And the complexity of the music. I saw him live and his solos are awesome with nasty on double bass but people like Danny Carey will get more props because of the more complicating music and off time signatures.

  • You do have a point.. I guess that's just part of the business :/

  • check out my vids

  • yep,the solo was great, and from the start of it, i saw Down With The Sickness coming

  • mike wengren is soo underrated. He is so much better then people think.

    DISTURBED 4 LYF!!

  • i know right, people don't even realize how good mike really is!!!

  • @ndogg360 Only reason why you never see him pulling blazing fast kick patterns is that the music doesn't ever really call for it. He CAN do it, but it wouldn't fit the music.

    Agreed.

  • @ndogg360 its because he uses simple fills

  • @ndogg360 lol ...

  • nothin wrong with angled, i like my snare flat and my toms flat and even with the snare, easier to play for me.

  • what is the song he playing here?

  • Voices off of the album "The Sickness"

  • thats my freinds uncle an it was kewl when i got to see them live

  • they should put more Mike Wengren

  • mike wengren Rocks the Drums

  • no doubt

  • sound's good.

  • i don't get how he plays his snare like that

  • i know! angled way too much for my taste. he's sitting far backk too. but it's all about comfort.

  • With rock and metal drummers i being one of them as i am sure you. We like either of 2 ways. Either level or angled. With angled it is "how" angled do you like. Most of us angled dudes like it anged so that we can play the snare pretty effortless don't have to think about where you left hand is going when playing the snare. You notice he is just playing. With drums it is all about how you like it. I have been playing for a long time and i am in a weird place now where i change this and that

  • yea man, definitely agree with you. it's all about comfort. one thing eric singer said on his pearl video about every drummer that stuck with me is, "your setup, is your setup." i like my snare flat and my toms fairly flat because it helps me get more of the stick on the drum. but i've also played with angle toms and it did have an effortless feel to it. i think changing things around is good so you can find what you like.

  • i keep my set with my snare flat and toms angled is dat bad

  • he likes it thats all that matters if he is making sweet music im okay with it

  • ahhh!! my boo <3 lol

    i love mike!!

    he is sooo awesome!!!!!

  • Awesome. His new signature sticks look badass

  • great consistency with the feet

  • His drums are awesome. His snare sounds like a jackhammer.

  • perfect sounding drums.

  • his drums are so good sounding.

  • YEAHHHH MIKE!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!

  • there needs to be more vids of mike like this

  • Amazing Drummer!
