another stol idea that my dad had an his avid flyer was to put on the leading edge fals ribs a peace of aluminum the fist 20% ofhe wing about 0.012 " thick it makes a big diffrence but that would have to be the next time the wings ar striped
LOVE your plane we were looking into getting a kitfox but with the economy decided to wait....About how much does it cost to get a kitfox all fixed up and flying like yours these days?
Hay Thx, I'm looking to get a kitfox myself I live in a remote area of alaska, no roads around here. And am tired of dealing with local expensive air taxes. Will be in touch with questions, 1st one did you build this or was it already built. Any squations about flying in AK.
You might want to consider bald tires if you do not use wheel pants. If you do a lot of rough field work, a rock can get flung out of the tread...and go right through the wing. That is why you see bald tires on the market.
thought of that but the fields I fly out of are mostly grass - a few gravel - the tread on these tires isn't deep enough to really catch rocks - not so far anyway
yeah the plane is 1150 gross weight and the VG's are mounted at 10 percent of the total wing chord or about 5 inches from leading edge and they really do make quite a bit of difference - stall speed lowered by maybe 10 miles an hour?
Thanks for posting! I like seeing the the individual builds of these Kitfoxes and hope to build one of my own someday... I guess it will have to be the Series 7 though.
Very nice...

That is a really awesome Kitfox !! Lots of nice additions to the basic kit. The new paint job looks good. I hope mine turns out as well.

Good Video on the Kitfox, I would like to see some video of your flight testing with your VGs. how far back are they mounted?
What does your plane weigh? and have you ever considered a tiny tach? I find others highly un-reliable.
