  • can anyone help me translate this into english, i want to understand deepest what him saying about! because i very like this, so where can i find this movie?

  • @tieulongdl Hi, I have attempted to translate the lyrics for you. It might not be 100% accurate or poetic as the actual lyrics. But hope you can catch the meaning of the lyrics. In the cold spring water I wash my clothes, As I sat and washed my clothes I missed my caring mother In river banks full cranes The bushes and trees sway As the bushes and trees swayed I thought of my blessed mother In the bitter spring water I wash my hands As I washed my hands I thought of my mother who gave me life
  • расскажите о чём песня? пожалуйста, а то я ничего не понимаю, я казашка, а песня нравится очень

  • @ainuragabriel

  • thank you so much HanUndur i will have so much fun singing this beautiful song! Best wishes :)

  • Hanundur,

bayarlaa for posting for urdunchimeg, I only have the words in cyrillic mgl and the english translation

  • This song makes me emotional, don't know why.

    it's so beautiful!

  • When I looked for the complete first strophe, I found this:

    Киитн булгин уснас

    Киилгян угадж суулав

    Киилгян угагад суухларн

    Килмжтя ээжм сангдна

Why this is so different from the words I hear and Drejo wrote down? Annother langue?

  • Oh for this case, First, Mongolians add "aa, aanai, ee, etc." to indicate that it belongs to you or either you care about it. Second, it gives more harmony when you sing. For example: "уснас" (ус or ousou-water)is "Ousou*(n)aca*ban" or in the speaking language "Usanaasai", which implies that you drank the water more than 100 times for example. But for "сангдна" the extra "aa" you hear at the end just gives more harmony

  • chi haanah ve?

  • Sorry - there are always only the beginnings of the songs

  • cannot stop listening to it :-)))

  • Such a great song, such a great video!!! I like it so much that there are no words to tell how.

Many thanks also for the text, Drejo2008! This I would like to have for more songs, which are not in my mothertongue.

  • Sorry one more thing. Kalmykia means "The people who are left". Simply they are Oirat Mongols. Solongo Artist aa, OKNA TSAHAN ZAM bolgoj uurchilvul hvmvvs ilvv medne bkhaa.

  • Thanks for this info!

  • i fully support this interpretation because we call kalmyks as halimag, which means some people who left. since kalmyks left west mongolia in the 17th century, they are people who left their home country.

  • it simply means dirt, could be dirt of clothes or body.

  • kiilingeen ugagad suulaw gej tsamtsaa ugagad suulaa bi gsn ug bn

  • Also this song has its own historical background related to Oirat Mongols. It is somewhat about the time when Kalmycs tried to escape from the Russian Queen Ekaterina. Unfortunately 2/3 of their people were killed by Russians, Cosacks and Kyrgiz soldiers under the Queen's rule.

  • I think, You should say, that Oirat tribes originally came from Xinjiang area. Some tribes, I think in any case the Torgut, emigrated in 17th century into Wolga region. I think, this escape You mentioned, affected only a part of the "Wolga-Oirat". Many of them died ... but the survivors, I think, came back to their original homeland(?)But there was still another group, which couldn't cross the Wolgariver. It was spring and maybe flood. They were left. This were the later called Kalmyc.

  • Hello, thank you for your interest. 1. Well, by that time today's Xinjiang was part of Mongolia. That's why there are the Bortala and Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous prefectures still exist in that area. 2. Okna is his father's name. And about "Tsahan Zam", in the Oirat Dialect or "Tsagaan Zam" in the Khalkha, you are right. They tranlate it as "White Road" but in Mongolian language "Path" and "Road" mean the same thing. And for historical and special terms, Mongolians always choose the higher

  • I'm not sure, if it comes from a Turkish language ... but in Turkish "to be left" is "geri kalmak". Only yesterday a friend told me about the name "Tsahan Zam". After the II.World War it was reproached to the Kalmyc, that they collaborated with the Germans. For this lots were banished to Siberia. When they returned to their home to Kalmyc ASSR, "White Path" became a fixed name for this way of return. This friend told me, Okna was born on this way - for this this name.

  • kalmak - to stay on

  • cannot tell which one is correct.

    3. Yes, the Kalmyk is the Russian version I guess, but they call themselves "Khalmag". But, just to let you know, Turkish language cannot be viewed as the language that is used in "Turkey." Same thing for Mongolian, it has almost 10 main and dozens of sub dialects. So in order to let your audience understand what you are singing, the singer may alter the accent. However, all I've wrote is just my opinion. Pleased to discuss more...

  • P.S: sorry for the grammatical mistake and other errors, 'cause I didn't have the time to go over and return to the video again. I hope you could understand.

  • :-) this are no English lessons. All understood - thanks a lot!

  • There is a more or less similar word in different Turkish languages ... for example in Kazakh "to stay" is "khaliv", in Uzbek already more similar: "qolmoq". Wouldn't it be probably, that it came from Tatar?

  • higher or the spiritual meaning, that is "Path." Ubashi taij decided to take his people back to Mongolia (Zungarian State probably, not the northern Khalkha nor the other states). But a group could not pass the river and left (the western Wolga Oirats.) From here come the first theory that these people later called "khalmag". But some prove that by the time of the Ayuk Khan, the people were already known as the "Khalmag Khaganate." So without looking at the documents from 17th century, we

  • White Path not White Road. But thank you for the video upload. Best song ever. I believe that, one day all Mongolians will unite.

  • Does anyone know who's singing this song?

  • Kalmyk's throat-singer OKNA TSAHAN ZAM.

  • Cool. Thanks.

  • Tsagaan Zam

  • Best song on earth.

Everytime I see this video I must think on the time when I lived in Mongolia. It was the best in my life.
