The one thing I notice is that the wings are very close to the ground.

This must mean you have to take off and land nice and flat or a wing will clip the ground.

Is that a danger?

That was a flight???

The thing never got out of ground effect and according to the snow I see scattered on the ground, the air temperature had to be quite low adding to a favorable density altitude.

For crying out loud, a Cessna 172 displays better flight characteristics at 40 mph than this contraption traveling at whatever speed with every factor in its favor.

I want to see this thing REALLY fly!

Weak Rotax 912 is overweight vs 120HP Jabiru and  hypercomplex (mucho mandatory maintenance+laborious preflight) BUT impractical to operate ground configuration aircooled(Tucker notwithstanding). Did it ever get out of ground effect=SpruceGooseJr?

Sport Pilot Encyclopedia says fly SPall day>land &drive long into the night if required. Wings look nifty. Enough useful load for a BRS just in case?
