Deshi - U are right and then some- Nick Sempai is an example and those who train with him or who just hang out with him are in for an mind/heat opening experience.
Nick Scoggin is an absolutely phenomenal master in his own right and the most senior Sensei formerly under Segal. He teaches at City Aikido under Robert Nadeau Shihan and brings experience from Segals lineage and Japan together with that of Nadeau Sensei to give his students extraordinarily valuable teaching. A true master who embodies the principles of Aikido to the highest degree. A shining example to his students. Deserves recognition
@Ardent321 On the other hand, if you happen to be a real Aikido student, you'll always try to avoid getting into that kind of trouble. Nothing good ever comes out of violence, but pain and suffering.
@Ardent321 Please! You can go against Sensei Seagal in a real fight and we will find out who is a joke! The man was the first non japanese to open his own dojo in Japan and you say his a joke... I feel sorry for you!
@Swededude74 LoL I think you agree WWE is real too. Have you been to a fight before?? You sure these kind of stuffs are real?? good for you but not me. I will feel sorry for you when you beaten up in a fight.
But the Japanese Riot Police "Kidotai" train Aikido as well Indonesia Air Force Police etc etc.Anyway what to say when you was never in the matt doing Aikido .All styles have good and weak points all....of them man.
one of my Students was victim of a robber that pointed him with a knife,my dare devil student applied Ikkajo or Ikkyo technique and followed with knee on elbow joint.Resulting in the bad fellow getting is elbow cracked after that he just went is way.Maybe one good fighter of MMA or Thai Boxing could not do the same. For the record that student of mine never learned free sparring with me so...

O'sensei Seagal. It's about time he was awarded the credential. Forget anyone else. Seagal was the true Aikido master.

@papalegua6 My point is in real fight you cant catch punches as shown in video, maybe in a clinch position provided the opponent is not a fighter.
