Well 904caller, ea has explained everything thats "new" in this yrs game through videos on youtube. They even went all out on advertising it. Its very clear that we can all expect to see by far the best looking madden so far. Definetly better graphics (lighting and shading)and details like very distinct uniforms. Other than that ea hasnt done much else except bring back past features. ANY company would do this if allowed an EXCLUSIVE license.

I like RTTS but I find the season / franchise mode of MLB The Show to be completely boring. Its the same as Madden for me... Play a few games and get bored with it and never play again ( besides RTTS ).

I just have much more fun with MLB 2K.. It isnt as polish as The Show ( yet ) but there is something about it that keeps me wanting to keep playing.

I also agree with the poster that brought up PYS.. It is the best gameplay wise of any baseball game out.

Im not an ea hater. But for the past 6yrs ea has only been "tweaking" the presentation which still doesnt come close to what we see on sunday or what other video games were capable of doing. My standards began with MLB 2k7, they already had things madden is just now putting in madden 12 they had a decent collision detection engine (for a sport that has little physical contact), grass textures (I mean, this was 2k7! Madden and NCAA is just now getting them?!), presentation was on point and the CAP options were somewhat deep for the time. So whenever I play a sports game and YES I play madden, I hold them to that standard. Great post TSS.

I once heard someone say that "real life" is the standard. I disagree. In regards to videogame fball, the standard should be the game or brand that's done the best at providing the most realistic football experience. In saying that, imo the 2K brand has done that. A CPU is going to do what the code tells it to do. It cannot match a human's ability to anticipate, adapt and think on the fly..so it compensates for it, by jamming you with a plunger, from time to time.

that's why whenever I play a football game against the CPU, I always control 1 player on the defensive line, and never, ever switch off of him.

@904Caller I haven not like madden since 05 because the game has gone backwards and regressed as a franchise just like the last good call of duty game was 4 and I haven't really played since. I prefer a more realistic simulation like 2k5 or BFBC2 despite both games having flaws both are still head and shoulders above the competition. 2k5 is arguably still the best football game on the market 7 years later and Dice cares about there games and make solid products.

EA doesn't capture the nuances of football, they do a good job at the general things but it's stuff we dont take notice of like team intro's and pre game etc, but what MLB the show does is combine everything about the given sport and display it as faithfully as possible. EA has not done that because they have no idea about football. The things EA fixed this year has already been in the game so don't accept this new stuff as improvements, it's all been done years previous.

What's up, BPhife?! The more I think of MLB the Show 11, the more I want to play it; the more I can forget about how much it hurts me to not buy a brand new football video game this year.

I know Madden 12 isn't going to be the "End all, be all" this year, but if it plays, feels, and looks like football this year, I'm on board. Otherwise, it stays at Gamestop. That's the standard we're talking about in our videos, fam. My football games need to give me that wow factor everytime I boot it up.

good stuff Bphife its all about capturing the essence of the game and hopefully with NHL and FIFA the ea devs can put those physics aspects into football and we can get solid gameplay along with those wow (in a good and unique way) rather than those wow ( in a bad way) because it will capture the uniqueness and greatness of sports people dont understand there is a standard for sports games unlike shooters and stuff who become marketing zombies keep up the good work man
