  • WHOA,someone asked 'why is that Brit such a twat?' Er,excuse me,don't tar all Brits with the same brush. It would be like me saying all Americans are smug, arrogant loud-mouths.There's good and bad all around the globe! Oh,great song by the way, lol.

  • my mum loved this... miss her

  • THIS WAS A GREAT MOVIE AND AN EVEN BETTER TUNE. WHAT'S IRONIC 'BOUT THIS TUNE/MOVIE IS THAT I WAS DATING THIS GIRL AND SHE WANTED TO SEE ONE MOVIE AND I WANTED TO SEE "THE JAZZ SINGER". WE SAW THE JS BUT AFTER THE MOVIE NOT EACH OTHER...LMAO.

  • Siempre seras el mejor...Thanks Neil

    Saludos desde Madrid Spain

  • Why is that Brit such a twat? Oh wait a minute they are all twats.

  • @1998disco72 And for all of you Brits I have several friends from the UK and they can be the biggest douche bags ever met!

  • @1998disco72 They have big chips on their shoulders and I am not talking about french fries!!

  • @1998disco72 Pssst!! It's only a film..really it is..it's made up, in the same way that MOST of hollywood is made up; and Steven Seagal really isn't a one man world policeman..make believe...honestly.

  • Great song and movie. Reminds me of my youth, on yes 8 track..

  • How can you comment on PERFECTION

  • the 9 dislikes are "cotton headed ninny muggins"...says ELF...lol and they are stupid of course

  • The Jazz Singer is my favorite movie and this is one of my favorite songs. <3 Neil

  • This song is so passionate. You hear that first line of notes emanate from the synth and you know you're in for a good song.

  • This album is great. I like the movie too.

  • This was one of Neil Diamond's greatest hits. It came out on the radio around 1980 or '81 when I was in high school,a sophmore. I saw the movie in one of my classes as a senior in high school, around 1982 or '83. That guy at the end was just flatout rude to Neil after he sang that song! I thought he did a splendid job. But thank God it was just a movie!

  • Love the movie, and this song.

  • The "Jazz Singer" was the first full-length LP I bought with my own piggy bank money as a seven-year-old. It resonated with me then, as is still does now, all these years later. Amazing...

  • Ahhhh... one of my favorite scenes from "The Jazz Singer". This is my favorite version of "Love on the Rocks."

  • The Jazz Singer was the movie me and my future husband saw on our 1st date We went to dinner afterwards and as he was talking this thought popped into

my mind out of nowhere..I'm gonna wind up married to this guy! I was so

shocked by my own thought that he noticed the change in my expression

and asked in a concerned manner, are you OK? I said, Oh yes..I just thought

of something..it's no big deal...I lied! Now we have 2 Shepherds, Jazz and

Journey...29 years and counting! ESP perhaps!

  • @kathykay2010 That is awesome, love it, kind of like me and my husband!

  • @kathykay2010 I so love and identify with this song.

But, when I told my wife, She, my heart, She who I exist for, the Mother of Our Children, she asked this troubled question.

"What is", Love on the rocks'?,

I so liked this song, that I played it when I had a skinful of booze. She was worried.

    I told her.

of t's about the Singer, singing to the audience',telling them, in this case, the highs and lows, the 'acceptance'

    Of them, by them..

  • @kathykay2010 love on the rocks , what a powerful song great film can see were you r coming from ,wish u and ur husband all the best

  • @kathykay2010

BUT...TO QUOTE THE LATE RUTH GRAHAM, "I'VE NEVER EVER

CONSIDERED DIVORCE...BUT MURDER HAS CROSSED MY MIND

ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION." BUT TRULY...WE ARE BLESSED!

THANKS...CHRIS...I GOT A LAUGH OUT OF YOUR COMMENT!

  • When I was a kid I used to go to the movie-theatre from my neighborhood because I was crazy for kung-fu movies. Once they played the trailer of "The Jazz Singer" for almost half year. Obviously I could´t see that movie on time, however after that I never forgot this song. Across the age I´ve listened it many, many times and always bring to my mind the memories of my sweet childhood. Almost ten years ago I got the best N.D Cd collection and almost eight I found the movie at one rent store.

  • Wish you where still here daddy!!! x

  • I've watched this movie at least 100 times....and the best part is still when he taps the microphone in the studio.

  • yes my hart and sool ! Desiree nobody els !Desiree !

  • fantastic vid and gives a real insight as to how a song is 'born' in that the writer has the initial inspiration and then it kind of takes shape with some of the lyrics and then humming in the 'gaps' over a couple of days..the best songs kind of write themselves..if you allow them to..this is no exception!

  • One of the greatest songs by Neil. May need to watch the movie now!!

  • una balada realmente hermosa describe las circunstancias que a veces las personas nos vemos envueltas..

  • Will always love his voice, his music...

  • Super great video!!

  • One of the greatest songs and storytellers of all friggin time

  • El amor en las rocas, un sentimiento cada vez mas común, des afortunadamente, pero una canción que la describe a la perfección.

  • To my good friends Ed and Mia....may you two find

some way to reconcile your differences.

  • LEGENDARY - ENOUGH SAID

  • SUCH an under-rated movie. It's wonderful and so well done.

  • excelent

  • A couple of years ago Neil did "An Audience with..." for ITV and Paul Nicholas (AKA Kieth Lennox) was sitting in the audience. I was waiting for a bit of banter between them about the infamous "why don't you piss off and take those 4 clowns with you" but alas it didn't happen

  • estas son las que te calan hondo, profundo cuando la relaciòn con tu pareja ha dejado de lado el amor que se tenìan mutuamnete. Saludos.

  • I haven't seen this movie, but why was that guy mad at him at the end of the clip??

  • true awesomeness personified! this song is so epic, the word epic can not describe how epic it is.

  • this will never age,and will rips lonely hearts apart in a 100 years time xxxxx

  • I always wanted to make love on the rocks and I did it. It was in El Calafate, Argentina, with my girlfriend, Silvia.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA, yeah! Screw Neil Young and his stupid love song! I'm glad Keith told him to piss off! He is my hero! This is why today's music is so good and rap and hip hop rules! Coz people like Kieth telling Neil Young and his ilk to piss off!!!

  • @AmericaRulesYouDrool ....ummmmm your a dumbass. His name is Neil Diamond

  • @KonniMechelle WHO CARES!!!!!!!

  • @AmericaRulesYouDrool Ever heard about respect?? something mostly rappers complain about!!!

Over the years I listened to all kinds of music; pop, rock, metal, grunge, rap,R&B,funk and it's a fact that Neil is class artist!! I don't like Bob Dylan's music but I respect the man's career and status in music.

    Maybe U got 99 problems but a......

  • @AmericaRulesYouDrool

if it sucks that bad why are you watching it?

oh yea you're just another inbred american dumb ass

  • @dlaps2000 Don't blame AmericaRulesYouDrool or the other 4 people who disliked this for doing so. Blame their PARENTS/RELATIVES for not taking the time/responsibility to expose them to the classics!!!!!!!!

  • Cindy and i loved this ... we were in Boise, ID. in the round at BSU, Front Row, stage level, it was great ! We were given the tickets by a very good frind, Thank you Gail !!!! Free tickets front row, OH YES... that's the best kind. we are both big Neil Diamond fans too.

  • me encanta esta cancion

  • years since I heard this, just brings me back to the first time and place, they just don't make them like this anymore.

  • if this song could impreginate men.. i would have its offspring.

  • I love the part where the Rock Singer guy wanted to make it into a Rock Song and that scene... ALl too often today we see "RAP SINGERS" murder good old Power ROCK ballads among other song genre's because they're too freakin stupid to write anything original.

  • the jazz singer what a film used to watch this with my grandad wen i was a nipper, ''love it''

  • I love this song and I also loved the film too!

  • Fabulous. So real. I weep with delicious feeling in my heart

  • Bit too close to the mic - but great to see this again !

  • Still get goosebumps when I watch this version!

  • All I want is a smile!

  • I like the sound of Neil it never gets old

  • I have just acquired this movie, and watched it for the first time. I think its great, and not just because I am a ND fan. I love the songs, Love on the Rocks being my favourite. It never dates and never will, and seems fresh everytime I listen to it. Is it co-incidence that the storyline of the film to a degree reflects Neils own early life. Maybe thats why he chose to play the part. It wasnt written for him, was it?

  • Oh, it's a great song and also a great movie, I watched it a long long time ago. Was America also played here?

  • btw an awesome movie,, awesome songs..... neil alwayss awesome

  • They don't write or sings songs like this anymore-a classic of all classics!

  • One of my favorite Neil Diamond songs.

  • It is so emotional..! I was 5 (in 1980). My father y mother love this song and me too.

  • Is it just me, or would you like to slap that record producer right up the lips. Just a thought.

  • im a Clash man but i'll never forget working as a yopper when i was young and found a neil diamond casette tape at the nurses home where i was working, took it home fixed it and then THIS man came out of this little stereo, fell in love that day n i havent fell out of it since, he's amazing

  • @STRUMMER772003 nice one , rock the casbah,!! great song though isn't it,

almost as good as whiteman in hammesrmith ;)

  • muy bueno neil¡¡

  • SING TO ME NEIL!!! Ahhhhhh!! I love this song, but its way to short. I want it to go on and on.

  • Espectacular.- Unos de mis preferidos.- Gracias

  • hes the man and u better believe it baby

  • On the recorded version he sings "I gave you my heart, I gave you my soul".

  • @JP5466

    Right.

He's singing about (to) his 'audience', his 'fans'.

    Not her.

  • does anyone know what Microphone he is using in the studio ? Thanks

  • @matrahat I bet it's a Neumann M49 or M50.

  • thanks! :)

  • My fav part of the movie! He is Epic!

  • what is the name of this movie? can you tell me please?

  • @mccastillo1 The name of the Movie is THE JAZZ SINGER

  • Thanks for posting. Love Neil and have never seen the movie!

  • By far my favorite scene from the movie. You really have to watch the movie to appreciate what a WOW moment this was. You keep waiting for him to get a break...then you think it happens when they decide to record his song except then the other dude is butchering the hell out of it....but THEN...it happens and he gets his opportunity. I'll watch this whenever it happens to be on the tube simply for this part. Honestly, aside from the part where his father disowns him, I can't remember any of it.

  • Remember my father playing that song from an old tape recorder. Neil's voice stick in my mind forever.

  • this is the best music ever..!

not like the shit we hear nowdays..!

this music was made with love..!

not with the ( shake that ass bitch ..!! ) lyrics...!

  • @TheChivo777 Yes, I'm 30 and starting to see music getting more and more processed, just to suit trends or fashion so people can make money. No one seems to make music for the sake of making music anymore, which is really sad. I mean they do, but its hard to find it nowadays, because it isn't in the charts.

  • Yeah, the singer did make it into a very fast rock and roll song w/ lots of screaming. Talk about horrible.

  • There are very few singers in the world that I truly LIKE and never tire of.....and Neil Diamond is one of the few.

  • Wow! I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid. I think I saw it 10 times in the theater.

  • LochRaven62 good upload keep them comeing :))
