15 years ago, the Chacaltaya Glacier in Bolivia was the worlds' highest ski resort and a major source of drinking water for people in the Andes.

Iv'e been following this story since it broke and it only involves a small segment of the scientific community.

Al Gore and John Coleman are at opposite ends of the spectrum and neither one is correct on the issue. The truth is somewhere in the middle and nobody on the planet can say with absolute certainty that the industrialization of the planet has no effect at all on climate. The facts are that there is a whole in the ozone layer over Antarctica and there are ice layers disappearing fast.

As far as the data that you are referring to about increasing ice thickness, I don't know where the locations are but there is something not right there, given the obvious loss of ice cover through satellite images, for example.
