Dear Mike, I extend great sympathy to your friend. Tell her to talk to God as a close friend, to ask for miracles & strength to comfort her & help her carry the burdens that rest upon her.Tell her to surround herself w/ messages of hope.I don't remember what heaven is like.We all lived w/ God as spirit children before we were born & when we die we can return to live w/ Him again.I've seen glimpses of heaven in light, virtue, peace, hope, forgiveness, joy, being w/ loved ones, etc.

Did anyone read thru the entire bible before becoming a Christian or did you make an emotional commitment? Just wondering how people get hooked into something where there is no empirical evidence support a Christ rising from the death.

I am sure some did read the entire Bible before becoming a Christian. Many read it after their conversion.

In short the empirical evidence you are looking for comes through reading the scriptures and receiving a witness from their author of all truth.

For believers, a testimony of the truth is empirical evidence enough.

Please let me know how I can share more with you. If you are searching for truth I can help you find it. You will have to decide whether to accept or reject the truth.

This is why Faith is so important. Not blind faith, but the kind that searches the scriptures and then asks Heavenly Father if it is true. If you sincerely ask, you will receive a witness of the Spirit which will give you the evidence you seek. Without faith, Christ's Atonement which by the way the resurrection is part of, would have no meaning since we didn't have to do anything to receive it. Anything worth having requires our best effort!

"Hope" IS one of the worlds' most precious commodities. It's also one oof the most inexpensive, uplifting things we can obtain. If you have hope you can make it through the most despaaraging times. even though you may hurt, hope never lets you give up, this life is a gift, though it can sometimes feel like a curse, it is hope that lets' us see the difference between having a marvelous gift or a unrelenting burden. And hope is usually found through helping and being with others.
