Independent record labels help put the south on the map which is good.But independent labels also allowed the guys who really were not good rappers put out music to sell. As a result songs such as "Crank Dat Soilder Boy" have came into existence, for the fact these independent labels were not subject to the criticsm as the larger record labels. Eightball & MJG were and still are the greatest.
