  • Everything after 1:22:00 in your video is simply amazing. I appreciate the energy you give during the entire performance, but after 1:22:00, you begin to play more as one; the song beings to pull at you, instead of you pushing it along. I absolutely love this song. Thank you, so much, for this time you have shared.

  • warms the soul

  • Two inexperienced heroes can't move the stone.

  • Many thx fellow Heroes Quest fan. I shall study this and learn to play this. Many thx *bows*

  • The quest continues at TheSchoolForHeroes!!! You must test yourselves!!

  • i got the guitar version of this peace with strings arrangements! but this one is nice t also!

  • Quest for glory... How long has it been since it came out? 20 years? Makes me feel old. :P

    Great song.

  • Huge QFG fan. Absolutely love this. Thanks so much for posting!

  • @Mogman12

NRGFORCE's doesn't sound live. It was written on the computer so that it's perfectly timed and each note was accurate. Also, NRGFORCE's lyrics were taken from another video. Plus, this version of mine was just something I put up in a few minutes after messing around with the song. I always wished I did more with it. I could have done much much more.

  • @Mogman12 PERISH!!!! *Firebolt* >.<

  • Damn! It's like you originally wrote that. Nice work, probably my favorite game of all time and favorite tune from the game.

  • Simply lovely. I remember my dad introduced me to the first game when I was about 11. This piece stayed in my head for hours after I'd finished playing.

    Beautiful rendition.

  • Wow! That sounds good! Great job. One of my favorite peices on the game.

  • very very lovely =]

  • I like this a lot. Most people who did not like it don't realize music is always open to interpretation. Very good.

to kailkay: a true music lover/muscian would never limit themselves to always doing something the same way every time. There is only ignorance your statement.

  • i dont like it.

this version seems drawn out and diluted.

  • I like your interpretation. Thank you for the performance and the sweet memories! :)

  • Learn to play it right or don't play it at all. If you tried to do that with any classical music, like beethoven or mozart, changing it as you pleased and then still calling it by the original title, every scholar in the world would call you an idiot.

  • Let people be people. Find something better than being a critic on youtube idiot.

  • go home! lets here your interpretation prik

  • sorry wrong person

  • Does anyone have notes for this?

    i also want qfg4 erana's garden notes.

  • Very well done ! :)

  • Wow, breathtaking. Excellent rendition of one of my favorite songs.

  • I love it, learning to play it, though I still need tons of practice to play like you.

  • looks like John Carmack

  • give us the notes

  • Stop being so lazy, just Google for the notes!

  • Good on ya mate

  • You feel a sense of tranquility overcome you. Well done!

  • Video is missing :(

  • This really soothing and it is really well played on the piano THANKS

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU this brings peace to my heart!

  • I second the midi file idea. I also recommend you submit the midi (and mp3) to the QuestStudios web site. They contain the entire archive of Sierra music and have a special section for arrangements like this one. While YouTubers might not recognize this song, all the folks over there will know it and love your submission.

  • Wonderful! I love this song. If you don't have sheet music, I would love a midi file of your performance. (I can decipher midi as well as sheet music.)

  • great job! brings back good memories !

  • Absolutely brilliant!, one of my favorite pieces of music from the first game in the Quest For Glory series. An easy 10/10.

    Thanks.

  • Nice job! I used to just hang out in Erana's Peace for three or so minutes until the music looped. 'Erny the 'Ermit also had some nice music. Doubt it's piano playable though.

  • 'Enry the 'Ermit might be really interesting if it was embellished for a piano. I would certainly like to hear that. As it stands, 'Enry the 'Ermit is only 3 tracks so you could easily play 2 of the 3 on a piano.

  • This is one of my favourite parts just cause of the music, i love the music in old sierra games <3 Well Done.

  • Superb!

  • Any chance you have the sheet music written for this? I would bloody love to get my hands on it

  • yea, i'd love to get sheet music for that!

  • Very nice use of rubato to give the tune an excellent portrayal.

  • Oh man! Takes me back to playing the Quest for Glory series for hours on end! I really felt I was in that magical world and really was the hero doing all those deeds. Defeating Baba Yaga, the elementals, Tarna and Mordavia. They don't make games like they used to.

  • You're right about that. Those were the days. :)

  • Theres only 1 tree where you can feel save eh guys :) Sierra owns!

  • Was that incredible or what?

  • great stuff man. anything from 'Dragon Fire' you can play?

  • Dosbox is my savior. Remember those words, any who have not discovered how to run dos games on a modern system. Awesome job with the theme, btw.

  • Wow... Absolutely breathtaking! I love being a geek!

  • Can you upload an MP3? YouTube' sound quality isn't the best.

  • still bringing back memories of the good ol days.

  • =D =D =D =D =D

  • I remember 4 and 5 well. 4 because I played it endlessly, 5 came with the soundtrack. Once a geek I guess. "Many stinky people"

  • Gives me chills. Good stuff.

    I miss Sierra.

  • Brings back some great memories. I miss old school sierra.

  • i miss this game

  • This is fantastic!

(though a little bit different from the original in the synchronisation of the melody with the left hand)

    I like it a lot

  • Amazing...

  • This brought tears to my eyes. I remember playing the game and lingering at Erana's Peace just so I could listen to the music. Very beautiful.

  • @melymbrosia I did the same!

  • People sooo underestimate game music... I mean, just look at you! That's an expression of passion; the relationship between a man, an instrument, and the music that comes out.

Erana's peace is more than just a gem for video game music, however, since its just... That beautiful.

  • excellent. I would lit it in mp3 to listen while I go to work :)

  • I concur. Is an audio recording possible, Ravanous?

  • Hearing it agian, I must say that even if it is NOT possible, you still need to make an MP3 of this. Even though the original was a midi, it just does NOT do this peace (pun!) justice.

  • when I first played Quest for glory 1 the special VGA version. I was so entranced by the sounds and the music of the game. Most importantly the garden. I remember gathering the flowers there in the field and selling it to the apothecary for silvers LOL. Made about couple hundred gold pieces. Those were the days.

  • Hear, hear!! ^_^

  • I always enjoy listening to you play this great tune.

  • Awesome rendition!! got goosebumps after so many years since I have played the game , this tune is amazing and deliciously played by you!!

  • wow, amazing, beautiful

  • nice =]

  • Not a bad rendition :D

  • Fantastic. Makes me wish I could learn piano again

  • "So you want to be a hero?" THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got goosebumps when I heard the first few seconds of Erana's Peace music. This was almost 16-17 years ago. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time flies. I love you guys!!

  • Darn it all!!! LOL We need a new QFG game this song is so awesome!

  • I love that game. And I still refer to it as "Hero's Quest".

  • Absolutely beautiful! That was the way it was meant to sound. Thanks for bringing the spirit of Quest for Glory back for all of us.

  • yo fenrus!

    long time no see!

    how are you?

    how's erasmus?

    cheers!/cheese!

    :)

  • Every time I would play Hero's Quest (Yes, I'm that old and I have the *original*) I would sit and listen to this song for a few minutes whenever I went to Erana's Peace.

    Well done!

  • Fantastic. Very well done.

  • really good job! brings back memories

  • I'm sitting here with a silly grin on my face and am swaying slightly to the music. Haven't played this game for years... thanks for this!!

  • Truly beauftiful ;-;

  • i have been looking for this for a long time. thank you!

  • brings back memories of the good ol days.

  • That is amazing, where did you get the score?

  • I think he was going for a more dynamic interpretation r-tard.

  • Very beautiful. Quest for Glory Series forever, I say!

  • A shiver down my spine. A walk through memory lane, the QFG series was the best I grew up on, and the musical score was one of the most enchanting I've known in games. Truly a marvelous piece.

  • is this the place where that magical fruit tree was?

  • Yep, exactly right.

  • 2 words..

    bad ass

  • Thank you for this wonderful piece. Erana's Peace for years has been one of my favorite tunes. And I always wondered about how it would have sounded on piano. Now I know. :) Thanks!

  • Where did you find tabs for that? could you send me a link? Thanks so much;)

  • Fantastic, the Quest for Glory series is very special to me (which I can't say about any other video game), so it's nice to hear someone playing the music.

  • You wouldn't happen to have tabs for this or perhaps the other Quest for Glory or Space Quest songs, would you? Or know a source? 5 stars

  • Hey dude can you do any other ones? like one of the combat tunes?

  • I wish I lived in Spielburg. FTW

  • Heheheh I wish I lived in Tarna. My favourite city!

I'd love to flirt more with Katrina in Modarvia.

  • Very Nice, makes me want to play and find this game again.

  • that was awesome! thanks man, you made me remember how much i loved this game, now i need to go and find an anthology thanks works with XP. i just got leisure suit larry 1-6 box set today! woot!

  • Wow, this made my day. Thanks for the trip down memory lane haha. I need to go find the game again now and play it.

  • I remember playing the QFG series, I had wonderful memories doing so. I always like the humor as well as the action and adventure. That song is awesome, and I am seriously impressed on how your able to play it. You did an outstanding job. By the way... for all those who are like me and enjoyed the music to the old DOS games... you can find them at Quest Studios online and you are able to download them and play them as long as you want.

  • Your performance may sound like a sensitive sample of virtuosism to those who haven't had the chance to play Quest for Glory I. On the other hand, let you've made a wonderful gift to everyone who's had the luck to run across this old videogame. I used to leave my character standing still at Erana's Peace as well, in order to listen to the music, while writing or, more likely, thinking. Thank you very much for your tribute, I couldn't avoid a melancholic, yet grateful smile.

    Best regards. ^^

  • PS: Whoops, I got carried away while writing. Ignore that "let" in the second line, please.

    Ciao. ^^

  • can I make your words mine? hehehe

    It's really a great song...

  • I used to sleep alot at Erana's peace. Not only do you get full health you also get full health there and the fruits there are magical. That was the safest place in Spielberg.

  • Yep, I used to exploit the fact that you could stay up until "just before dawn" and still get a full night's sleep at Erana's Peace.

  • This is amazing! brings back nostalgic memories :)

can you tab this? I cant find QfG music tabbed anywhere...and I would really like to play this :)

  • Thank you, for this performance. I remember, when i was younger, that i left my character still in Erana's Peace and let the music flow from the amiga through my day, while reading or studying or just, well, dreaming. Your tribute is a dear one, to my ears.

    Salute and happiness

    Ciao!

  • Love the game, didn't really care one way or the other about the song... but the way you play it is so beautiful! Thank you.

  • This is amazing man!! Absolutely amazing. Beautiful song. I never thought of it being actually played like this. The fact that you figured it out to play it, unbelievable!!!

  • Very nice!

  • its awesome! if you play it on a real piano it would sound even more fantastic! nice dynamics....

  • I agree, invest in a real piano.

  • This sounds oddly familiar are you sure it's just a video game? Great jog!

  • Yeah... Quest for Glory is such an old, old game, though. It's one of the ones where you type in the action you do.. that sort of thing. I don't think it was used anywhere else. It's a beautiful theme.. I thoroughly doubt any people besides my subscribers will watch it though, since the game is not popular enough to get views from people searching for music from it.

  • Disagree. :) Found this by searching for Quest for Glory.

  • I googled "Quest for Glory Piano Tabs" and got this video. =)

  • The music is from a game called Hero's Quest: So you want to be a hero? Or also known as Quest for Glory 1.

The game was release way back in 1989 so its almost 2 decades and people who posted here would have had goose bumps hearing it again I'm sure.

  • Honestly, I've only recently discovered the joy that is Sierra adventure games, but this song still gives me goosebumps.

  • I totally agree. I'm getting goosebumps as I listen to it again and read your comments regarding that. Its amazing. Childhood memories come back and it is just ..undescribable.
