@Red1986GTStang ..The ' 96-'97 are basically the same. The '98 has a different fuel pump , computer , and of course the wheels are '95 Cobra R variations. The dash differs due to no clock pod in the middle of the dash top.

And the difference between the 99-04 GT and the 04-04 Cobra is SUBSTANTIAL. The 03-04 Cobra is an absolute animal. If you can get an 03-04 Cobra instead of a GT then DO IT. The 03-04 Cobra has 390hp/390 ft/lbs, while the GT only has 260hp/302 ft/lbs. If you can, absolutely go for the Cobra... unless you're 16 and it's your first car, in that case don't go beyond a GT.

BigRiggerJ, what year is your mustang? If it is more than 15 years old you can get special tags like antique (i think). With them tags you can have loud exhaust and the cops will leave you alone

They're called HISTORIC tags and your car has to be 20 years+ for them, it allows you to not have to goto state emissions too. My car is a 92' 5.0 foxbody and another rule with the historic tags is only weekend driving, Once my car is outta the shop it will be driven mainly just to work and back...

@linecook922 Why? The stock 98 cobra cams are about as good as you can get for his mods. It's not like a 5.0 that responds way better to different cams.
it seems fast and all but you say you pulled on a S/C mach 1? whats all done to your yours to make that? my 04 gt will take an all motor mach 1 and any non s/c'd cobra but with what you listed at the end i dont think it would pull a mach. a stock mach 1 for sure but not a boosted one.
@harvs04gt When my 98 was stock it was a driver's race when it came to machs. Is your GT supercharged? If not, you're full of BS if you think a regular 04 gt would beat a stock mach.
before the Mach 1 was supercharged i still pulled away from his car pretty good, that could also be driver skill lol. but no we both had full exhaust and 4.10's and mine seemed to pull alot harder above 4k rpm's by a car or two at the top of 4th.
Ah I see, thanka for the info. I've always heard people saying the Mach's feel the fastest out of all the N/A 32v 4.6's, always wondered why that was. Maybe the Shaker hood does make a difference at higher speeds haha. Enjoy the new setup dude.
haha not sure man, but they pull like there's no tomorrow even stock with some 4.10's they will throw you back real nice, my Mach was having fuel issues so its been at the shop for 3 weeks they finally found something was up with the fuel pump so she should be back on the road by this friday. more video's as soon as i get it back.

How fast will it run with the 4.10 gears? like how fast have you had it before hitting the rev limiter?

im assuming you mean in 5th gear? and we've never had this car topped out, My 04 Mach 1 has 4.10 gears and i hit 160 with 4.10's and still had room to spair.

nice sounding car..i just bought a 96 mystic cobra, previous 5.0 owner..and it came with flowmasters and i've had a ton of those set-ups...so i just installed this set-up...bassani longtubes, vrs o/r x-pipe and borla stingers..ill try and get videos up soon..sounds just like my buddys 04 cobra...

nos is a brand, say nitrous, and 03-04 cobras come stock with an eaton supercharger...

headers were around 900 i believe.. catted x is 300 or so.. and loudmouth 1 catback was around 560.. so around 1700.
