The main reason I consider this quite plausible, is that the gospels were written in the context of the Old Testament, which is basically, the collection of scriptures of the Jewish religion, and no religion in the Middle East by that time had such ideas about non-violence and love for the others, rather they were religions of violence. So, I think that a Buddhist and/or Hindu influence may very well explain the new face of the Bible, which may be a mix of religions from the West and the East.

The main reason I consider this quite plausible, is that the gospels were written in the context of the Old Testament, which is basically, the collection of scriptures of the Jewish religion, and no religion in the Middle East by that time had such ideas about non-violence and love for the others, rather they were religions of violence. So, I think that a Buddhist and/or Hindu influence may very well explain the new face of the Bible, which may be a mix of religions from the West and the East.

There are plenty of historical and other references in Bhuddist and Hindu literature that EXPLICITLY refer to the presence of Jesus in India. Further, the existence of tribes in Afghanistan and Iran whose religion refer to religious leader with a similar name that rose from the dead in Palestine is highly corroboraitve evidence of Jesus travelling to India and settling down in Kashmir.

If you claim that Jesus was in India, then in order for you to prove it, you MUST show me a manuscript that is OLDER than the New Testament Gospels that predate the Christian faith. Here's the punchline...you can't. The only manuscript that you are trying to quote from does not even exist anymore it was spoken about by a guy named Nicolas Notovitch (1894). So there is no way to varify your claim. So all you are doing is begging the Question. I know this.

The most important references to Jesus before the gospels are : The first is written in Brahmi Lipi of Chronicles found at the Student Gazette at the University of Nalanda.

We Christian know that Thomas (an apostle of Christ) sailed to India in 52AD to spread the gospel of Jesus. 100 years before Brahmi lipi. So theses stories are post Christianity.

And still live there today. Many with the name, "Yeshua". aka "Issa." This is why in the Book of Matthew (Matt 2:1-16)there were 3 Wisemen from the 'East' who came looking for the King of the Jews. The ancient Pali texts refer to a great scholar that describes Jesus, his parentage and lineage to a T that sojourned there for a few years and studied the Samkhya philosophy. Stay there and do some research yourself and arrive at these conclusions independently.

@blackhand1818 Your whole argument hinges on the theory that there was a 18 year gap of silence between when Christ was 12 years old, (Luke 2:41) that the Bible does not give an account for to when he was 30 years old when his ministry began. (Luke 3:21). But the problem with your theory is, the Bible DOES account for where Jesus was for this period of time. He was being raised up in Nazareth. (Luke 4:16) "Nazareth, where he had been brought up...". So you really do not have a leg to stand on.

Jesus went to India, Not Nazareth. There is a missing record that covers eighteen years in the life of Christ (from age 12 to 30. Other than the generic allusion that Jesus advanced in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52 the Bible gives nothing more about Jesus' life during this time span. Documented evidence by many Authors prove that during that time he traveled to the near and far east to learn from the Sages. There is hard evidence of These times in India, not Nazareth.

Luke 4:16 from the Bible says, "Nazareth, where he had been brought up...". And it tells us what he did when he grew up in Nazareth, "as was his ***custom***, he when to the symagogue on the Sabbath." The men of Nazareth also knew him, luke 4:22 "Is not this Joseph's son?" So we know were Jesus was.

Shama, is an Hebrew name, like your American 'Stanley, or Bruce or Steve. And this particular name means 'Obedient'. The "SHEMA" is recited each day before going to bed and upon Rising, "Shema Yisrael, Adoni Eluhenu, Adoni echad" "Baruch Shem Kavod Malchooto Le Olam Vaed". Jesus had no need to quote Hindu. Scheeze!

@miltona635 Yes you can translate it as "Shama" שׁמע, and it is the first word in the sentence of Deut 6:4 for "HEAR O Israel..." Shema translates as "hear". Since the Jews of the first century didn't have chapters and verses, they remembered scripture from quoting the first line of the verse. That is why Jews today quote the shema. And this had nothing to do with some girl named shema. So I really don't know what point that you were trying to make there.
