I never really understood why anyone would be ashamed of playing Yun or Yang in this game. Do you think Daigo gives a rat's ass about "player pride"? No.

In Guilty Gear XX, he played Sol because Sol was a great character.

Same with Ken in 3rd Strike and Ryu in Vanilla SF4. It's no different with Yun in AE.

If your misconceived notions of "honour" in fighting games prevents you from taking advantage of the best characters, then you're not going to go far.

Yeh, I was saying this on SRK the other day. I think Dudley is ok against Yun. Maybe not a Gief, Sagat matchup but the next best thing. Commentators said hes getting serious when he switched to Dud. If I was Daigo I wouldnt think Marn was getting serious. Serious at that moment wouldve been sticking with Yun and would have said to Daigo "I can do this" and got in Daigos head maybe. Picking Dud says "Youre the best Yun". Dud had buffs, Marn wins when maining Dud, he should use him

I'm not saying I don't like AE, it's just that it should have been more balanced than... well, this...

Once people have learned the match up I think Yang players will have to work much harder than Yuns. Yangs top tier but the gap between Yun and everyone else is massive. There will always be someone whose top tier, Yang at least requires coordination and relatively good execution to cause proper damage, he has very low health and stun. The only Yangs who win are good players anyway. But average Yuns can cause trouble for good players at times. I can respect a Yang player easily.

I think Fei is up there with Yang but not with Yun. Yun has too many safe options and, though Fei can be quick, Yun seems quicker and has everything Fei has as well as having the dive kicks and the options dive kick pressure brings too. Without listing every character, if I mark the defining gaps between the tiers with *'s I would say it went Yun *** Yang, Fei * The rest . Fei has good pokes but hes simple and easy to read, Yuns just got so much more for people to deal with.

If someone gave me a million dollars I can tell you right now I'd be pulling about a year's worth of all nighters to make sure there wasn't a character with a safe divekick, AND a safe lunge punch, AND a pseudo-safe uppercut, AND huge damage... The list goes on.
