I am sticking with FM08, that is a much much better game. The 09 version was full, and I mean, FULL of bugs, plus it was very over-complicated. Stick with FM08, it is a lot better.

i bought this game and tried to play it straight away but it didnt work then a fm09 forum said i had to download from steam, i assume most of you know that anyway, so how come i cant play it from the disc and have to be connected to the internet everytime i wanna play it and when i do to play 1 match it takes 2 hours from loading up just 2 days before a game to the game ending am i the only 1 who thinks this is the worst of all there versions, they wont even let me get any patches

for all negative comment : this is not PES or EA FIFA type. The FM do not deal with the AI (artificial intelligence) of 3D dynamic. it is focusing more on AI of gameplay reaction based on player attributes, the whole pitch. can u imagine how much memory this game will consumed if it kept busy processing 3D

first the idea for a 3D match engine to be introduced into fm is a great idea and would vastly improve the game IF they get it right. but i belive that from playing the game they havent...it looks rushed with stupid player movements and undetailed stadiums. personally i think they should of waited another year and improved it as if such a big change like this did go down badly alot of fm fans would be lost and the games grip on the market loosend. also the idea to have steam involved was awful.

MAC USERS:

All tiger (10.4) users need to dowload 9.1.1 patch. Note, the 3D pitch won't work if you have a GMD 950 graphics card.

All leopard users (10.5) download 9.1.0 patch. Find the downloads on sports interactive website.

You can check your mac spec by clicking the apple logo in the very top left of the screen, then 'about this mac'.

The minimum spec on the back of the box is 10.5 (leopard), so anyone whos pissed off should have checked the spec first.

All I wanted from the new FM09 was for them to update the players and sort out the board confidence thing, which was ridiculous. Instead they bring a stupid 3d thing in which puts such a strain on the graphics card, processor that it crashes all the time.

I am guessing that you have onboard graphics. That 3D engine in game seems ancient and would probably runs on most modern graphics cards barring onboard graphics.

First of all its virtually impossible to install. The 3d pitch is useless, ends up crashing all the time, the game is so slow.

It overheats your computer. Theyve added the assistant manager feedback during the game, but you just dont have time to read it as the game is on-going. The have added a ridiculous "Sky plus" style rewinding live action, WHY!!! I thought it was meant to be realistic.

There is a 9.1.0 patch, but I don't think they've released the Mac version yet. In any case, I don't know if the patch helps with the 3D engine, or if it's for other issues.

yep the 3d match engine really helps. You rplaying the wrong game if your looking for graphics, go play FIFA , but this does what it needs to do really well.

3d match engine, when it matures will be amazing. The ability to actually see your teams flaws/weaknesses/strengths not just dots moving round a screen will revolutionise the level of interaction a player has with the match engine. For too long the match geeks have reigned supreme with their sliders and stats etc. Now normal people can get into the experience by using the visual senses not number crunching: a very big step forward.

I'll stick to 2d engine, I'm not fussed about 3d. I can't wait to get this game. I've already planned some signings. I'll be Man Utd. I know who I'll be selling and buying. I like a smallish 21-22 man squad. Plenty of youth. I always play reserves in LG cup matches, or lower league FA cup matches, and also easy champ lg games. And some irrelevant Premier lgs. Out- Foster, Brown, O'Shea, Carrick, Gibson, Manucho.

I'll spend a few hours scouting players when I get the game too. All over world.

it looks pretty cool, although it's not as charming as the regular 2D xD It's great that we have the choice.. that we can choose between 2d and 3d ;) I think I'm gonna try 3D at first, and see how it works out.

One definite advantage with 3D is the penalty-situations. that you can really see what happens, and then give your real comment to the media after the game ;)
