  • must...download...all....RIFFTRAX.

  • Well this certainly brightened my day. Thank you Willy Wonka.

  • Marilyn Manson does a great cover/reenactment of this scene on his first album.

    /watch?v=Zf_TGmAkXOw

  • @Evilatem

    Not thanks....

  • Classic scene, one that scared the crap out of me when I was younger.

  • At 0:05 elf voice

  • I'd love to be on an airline where they sang this.

  • @SuperChibz I'd love to be the one singing this into the intercom!

  • Opining lines FTW!

  • I can't believe I gave away my copy of the movie before this rifftrax came out.

  • whats funny is that they're looks of terror were genuine

  • So THAT'S where Pendulum got their voice sample for Through The Loop! Wow... great job on that!

  • my favorite one :D

  • "...and they all die"

  • "I imagine this is what it must be like to be around Tim Burton."

  • "It would be funny to get on an airplane intercom and do that exact same thing."

that would be so horrible. lol

  • I am so doing that! XD

  • "I imagine this is what it's like spending time with Tim Burton"

  • best riff ever!

  • LOL I can't breath plus when he said there they died at the end that was funny the whole thing was funny

  • Thats how I felt after watching 10 minutes of the Rachel Ray show. No foolin!

    Hysterical!

  • Cinematic Titanic

  • THIS. IS. AWESOME.

  • $3-4 for what is essentially and episode of MST3K seems pretty reasonable.

  • my thoughts exactly ^^ besides, they should get paid for their time to make these awesome commentaries :D

  • So that scene tramatized me as a kid, seriously *what* were those people on when they wrote/directed that?!?

    Thanks Mike.

And what is this about NPH??

  • "Imagine this what it must be like to spend time with TIm Burton."

"Quite right sir, stop the boat!...And they all die."

    LOL!

  • The air pilot intercom suggestion isn't a bad idea at all. I'd probably take flight academy courses just to do that.

  • I'd pay extra for a flight where the pilot did that during turbulence.

  • OMG! Neil Patrick Harris! i'm totally buying this episode!

  • Neil Patrick Harris is the bomb! I <3 him.

  • "...And they all die."

    HAPPY END

  • That's how the movie should've ended.

  • I want to become a pilot just so I can do that on the Intercom

  • lol what does that girl know about a "freak out"

  • I'd love to see more of this.

  • Shit! I just spat coke all over my laptop, fucking funny!!!

  • this would make a kick ass disney ride. animal slaughter, epilepsy , A.D.D and psycho driven tour guide,...and they all die and become an attrection at the hunted house!

  • "This is exactly how I started to get after watching ten minutes of the Rachel Ray show."

  • NPH!!!

  • OMG! That's Niel Patrick Harris!

  • Oh man, I love this movie. And I'm suer happy that they riffed it! \.D./ lol, this part of the movie was crazy. And scary. Yet awesome. Hahaha~

If an airline pilot ever did say that monologue, I'd die from laughing. XD

  • "and the umpa loompas hearts have all exploded"

    LOL

  • "I imagine this is what its like to spend time with Tim Burton"

  • haha i would love to spend time with tim burton he's amazing

  • @Adamgontierfan19 yeah except that Tim Burton remade this movie and even HE wouldn't touch this part.

  • i wish they still had crow t robot riffing. that would be great

  • I personally enjoyed the movie alot.

Now I can enjoy it more with Mike and Neil!

  • and if you're ready Mike, may I offer you a wide-awake nightmare? lol....totally what I thought of when I saw this!

  • I remember seeing this as a 4 year old in the movie theater back in 1971, and thought it was the creepiest, coolest, greatest movie ever.

  • yeah, it is great isn't it? what a wonderful twisted kids movie this was! shows what kind of weird kid I was!LOL! great job riffing it too guys!

  • And they all died.

  • "and they all died" LOL

  • Makes me want to be a pilot.

  • This scene scared the ever loving crap out of me when I was little. Come to think of it, it still does.

  • It was better than that crappy 2005 version

  • Hell I didn't even bother.

  • Does anybody know what is up with the tunnel scene? Its not in the book nor does it add anything.

  • Actually that poem he recites is in the book. That book has been edited down and revised so much... try to track the original. Since the poem Wonka recites is in the book. I was very surprised when it wasn't in Tim Burton's adaptation. 'So this is what it must be like to hang around Tim Burton.' Hehe.

  • That whole speech is from the book.

  • Never mind about Emilio

  • I guess thats Emilio Estevez and Neil Patrick Harris on there with him.

  • Quite right there, stop the boat!

    "and they all die."

  • MY response to "Quite right sir, stop the boat!" would've been the sound of breaks screeching.

  • I had a good deal of hope for this rifftrax, but this was one that I felt left me feeling a bit disappointed. One scene that freaked me out as a youngster was Violet Beauregarde's transformation into a blueberry, and they didn't even touch on that much when that scene came up.

  • @uruseiranma Maybe. I'm left with the feeling there wasn't much to add, perhaps.

  • I might buy the track just to have an excuse to go out and find a copy of the DVD, this is the greatest movie of all time.

  • And if you're ready, Mike, may I offer you a wide awake nightmare?

Salvador Dali took a look at the scene and said 'Hey guys, this is too weird for me!'

I imagine that this is what it must be like to spend time with Tim Burton.

    XD

  • And they all died.

  • lol, "imagine if you were an airline pilot and you did this exact same thing."

  • I would burst out laughing if my pilot did that. :-P

  • Me too!!!

  • "I imagine that this is what it must be like to spend time with Tim Burton."

This part always did freak me out. I think it was why I didn't want to watch this movie when I was little.

  • Tim Burton's version didn't even come close!

  • And they all died! XD

  • Mike, is that you writing the 'About This Video' blurbs? They certainly read like all of your books, which is to say, makes me smile and laugh ever time. Never stop doing that voodoo that you do so well...

  • I'd forgotten how bizarre and freaky this movie was. Maybe that's why I watched only once in my life!

  • I'm the only person I know who DOESN'T like this movie. Looks like the Rifftrax would be great, though.

  • That was awesome!

  • Salvador Dali took one look at this scene, and said, "hey man this is too weird for me." ROFL

  • "You know, it'd be funny if Wonka was an airline pilot and sung this very song."

LOL! That is a funny thought!

  • I wana do it over a Wal-Mart intercom and see how many people either freak out or start laughing.

  • I'll do it, but I need to know what he says, can anyone help?

  • When I saw this as a kid, I distinctly remember a quick shot of a worm crawling across Slugworths face during the crazy flickering tunnel scene. Did they edit that out? that shot alone was the one thing I recalled most and now its missing. I know it was there, I don't care what anybody says. It definitely wasnt my imagination.

  • Look at 1:01.

  • i don't think it was slugworth...

  • It was the actor Wonka paid to be Slugworth.

  • That's what I meant

  • If you're reading this and you're an airline pilot, PLEASE sing Wonka's little song while flying at least ONCE!!! *lmao*

  • You're hillarious!

  • "This exactly how I started to get after 10 minutes of the Rachel Ray Show"

  • I think Dali followed up his comment with "why didn't I think of that!?"

This should be the final line for anything:

    "And they all died."

  • I think I would laugh my ass off if an air pilot started doing Wonka's bit in this scene LOL! In fact, I dare any pilot out there to do it, just for the hell of it!

  • AMEN! I'd definitely get an extra kick out of watching the faces of the people on the plane who didn't get it! lol

  • I forgot how funny these guys are.

  • XD!! fuckin insane .....lol i would of pushed hes ass off

  • Because commenting over parts of the movie is the whole point of Rifftrax, perhaps? The option to watch the tunnel bit with no commentary has been available for decades.

  • 01:21, so true!

  • That would be awesome. People would freak out so much!

  • I LOVE NEIL PATRICK HARRIS!!<33

and i just bought this Riff!! great.

Spiderman is awesome too!! make many more.

  • I didn't really like the New animated Spider-man, nothing against Neil, I just felt it to be a little... I don't know... cold.

  • i was talking about the RiffTrax for the Spiderman movie.

  • Yeah, I figured that out as soon as I posted (oops)

  • "And they all die!" LOL!

  • I've allways thought they should Riff on Starship Troopers. I wonder if Harris would be up for that. That'd be a first for them.

  • And they all die. lol

  • Should have done this on the remake. Hey apart from the title, me and my friends got loads of sex references from this. "Snoz-wnager" "She needs to be squeezed before she explodes" and that machine that spews white foam at them with the woman saying "It's all over my hair and my face". Moneyshot!

  • How about the old lady saying: "You smell like peanuts. I like peanuts!"

That immediately got me thinking about Crow's line from The Touch of Satan: God, I hope she said "peanuts."

  • I have to respond to you UnclePhart, from the Touch of Satan one:

Tom Servo: "This is where the fish live."

  • Neil Patrick Harris is a bona fide find for Mike and the RiffTrax project. I'd love to hear him on more future RT projects.

  • Neil Patrick Harris Rocks!!!

"This is how I got after 10 minutes of the Rachel Ray show"

  • No, he was an icon. I think it is sadder that you DON'T know that. Man, lack of knowledge scares me.

  • How the hell old are you, SEVEN?

  • ya know, I Didn't Have An Airplane Flight Attendant Do That, But I Had A Jungle Cruise Skipper Sing That..

  • I wish I had been there! That would have been awesome!

  • This is the best one!

  • "The oompa loompa's hearts have all exploded!"

    hahahahahaha, omg!!!!

  • "And they all die." hahahaha.

I didn't even notice the chicken being decapitated until just now...holy crap!

  • yeah me too. I was like WTF?

  • "He's either insane or he pounded a couple of Rockstar energy drinks forgetting that he already had a bowl of chocolate-covered espresso beans for lunch."

Serious props for "You know I think it would be funny if he were an airline pilot to get on the intercom to do this exact thing." XD

  • Neil Patrick Harris rocked the riffs. Who knew?

  • I remember seeing the dismembered chicken as a kid. Glad they decided to take that out in the new one!

  • I love this movie, even more than the Burton version (and I LOVE his films), but that scene always bothered me. As a kid: it was FREAKY. As an adult: (ok so I'm 19, but still) WHY? I never understood why that scene was there in the first place. It would've been better without it. Oh well!

  • the strange thing is as a kid by the time I watched this, I had learned to tune out scary things and sing alongXD

I want to hear a Pilot sing this on a plane!

  • OMG that would be AMAZING!!!! I would crack up so hard if that happened!!!

  • I love the creepy poem, always have.

  • You noticed, you just blocked out the horror.

  • I noticed that there was a chicken, but I never noticed any slaughter, just a... chicken. XD

  • ...Getting its head cut off. A chicken getting its head cut off qualifies as slaughter.

  • Yes, I realize that. o_o I was pointing out that I never noticed the slaughter, just the chicken.

  • And I was replying in kind. So, uh... Yeah.

  • My least favorite scene in the movie, given a good riffing by Mike and Neil. And I prefer the Tim Burton version.

  • Yeah, I didn't notice it either, until I was about 18.

  • Love the comment about the airline pilot...so true.

  • That would be funny, unless you were on the plane LOL

  • Lol. I'd try that if I weren't fairly sure it was a federal offense. It'd be totally worth it, though. XD

  • Wow, sounds like Neil fit right in to this! Did he write his own riffs?

  • No, the original will always be the best.

  • Well,'Sucks'is kinda strong, but the Tim Burton version is my favorite.

  • one of the funniest videos yet! keep em' coming! can't wait for the next!

  • Who is the third guy, the one who mentioned the animal slaughter?

  • ...and they all die...best ending ever!

  • Great job! Sounds good! :)

  • Nice job, Doogie! Animal slaughter!
