  • its actually North Queensland Aust, see Townsville on the road sign? The reason we drive on the RHS of the truck/car dates back to the first cars, when the controls were out side the car, on the right hand side, but when cabs became enclosed, the controls went inside, and were located in the centre, to the drivers left. Uk, Aust Sth Africa Asia etc, just learned to use their left hand, all the others , switched seats.

  • @Rickybobby1340 It's South Africa!

  • I reckon he could save himself a lot of agro by missing out half the gears.

  • thank God for Auto's

  • lol get fuck fuck out of the road

  • /watch?v=3I2lkx2RVTY my dads International Eagle 9800i 550hp Cummins Signature Engine 18shift auto

  • didnt u read ur cdl handbook? u not suppose to use the jake brake when its wet and raining

  • @stack4321 its safer than using your brakes

  • @stack4321 thats only for the nubs that dont know how to drive

  • @cornbread10378

Depends whether its cheaper to replace transmission or brake pads,(possibly drums), when they wear out If you own it!

  • why is the steering wheel on ur right side? Is the video mirrored?

  • @poprzvn i don't think so because the gauges would have been inverted too

  • why are the most of the argosy's in AUS?

  • @379peterbilt530 The main exports for the Argosy are now Australia, South Africa (where this one is) and New Zealand - the Argosy is now a export only model!

  • sh1t Imagine having to put up with that drone for hours on end .

  • Just too many (distractions) dash guages for me. All that I need is a speedometer, tachometer, fuel, air pressure, temp, alternator, guages. Nice truck though.

  • How can cat, cummins or detroit use something like a jake brake and it messes up a engine? That's true engineering from the USA and been tested by Engine builders in detroit! An argosy are one of the most productive trucks in S.A(fuel, maintenance,no delays with deliveries and feel at home environment) In S.A you get the 440hp,500hp,530hp and 610hp and the best mountain pass climbers in the world

  • @MrThemaster1980 you the dumb ass because that is not Australia, it is South Africa

  • @MegaZsolti

It's not Australia it's South Africa

  • @jimsoro007 It's Australia dumb ass

  • there is nothing better then hearing the sounds of the jake and of the truck fucken great mate

  • Nice waste of fuel JakeAss

  • u are messing up your engine with the jake brake

  • I used to float gears, but I did not do it with jake on. I used to clutch on a cummins, but when I clutched on a cat with the jake on, the engine cut out. I don't why.

  • the sound of the turbo is amaizing...

  • Wish I can drive a right hand drive argosy :)

  • nice shifting ol mate, wicked sound too. look after it..........

  • where is this mate?

    nice big c-16 smart shift!

  • i bet most likley those people standing on the road were pesty indians, fuck they are a annoying race (indians)

  • muy bueno el video compa exelente argosy :D

  • What kind of transmission do you have?

  • Hey, pay attention to the road!!!

  • we got c15 motors in our trucks. and we have three freightliners. the c15s are great!! c16s would be just brilliant!

  • @spitoinkr:Your freightliner are automatic right?

  • @FlammeHead That has a AS2/AS3 series Eaton AutoShift - can you see the SmartShift paddle???

  • Man that is just some nice sound

  • this thing is barely moving

  • love that sound

  • it's just me or bykashka is a retarded?=))))))))) "wrong side of the road" ...it's australia goddamn it! PS idiot...a turbo (the size of a horse that's monted on that cat engine) can produce 20psi+ of boost...

  • higher rpms plz lol

  • I wanna drive one of those they seem so cool.

  • @Intelpentium54321 suck on first

  • @bykashka75 piss off.

  • Peoria Power overseas!

  • Still think cab over are ugly, but that is one nasty engine.

  • what trans is in it? zf meritor?..

  • ahhh, the " Agony ", hmmm, just looking over at the passenger side at all the leg room for the unashamed left hand drive, makes me flex my left leg in sympathy!!

Freightliner, please realise that there are other countries out there besides the good ol US of A !! some of us drive on the right side of thre road !!

  • that was just fucking sexy

  • nice truck jake brake lol

  • Sweet shifting....

  • thats cause its an auto.. =)

  • Did I here you shift 14 times?

  • grat

  • i love the video:)

  • the transmission skip gears sometimes when it shifts? like, will it go from 5 to 7?

  • 110 KM/h?

  • That is such a nice rig, I love COE's

  • Ah yes, you can see the shift paddle at one point in the video. I didn't watch the whole thing the first time.

  • Seems to me that you're the only idiot, DUH!

  • sounds like you the one who needs a big one

  • @spitoinkr i often wonder why the uk, australia, and a few others drive on teh left side of the road. vs the right?, wondered why this was done, i never seem to get the same answer twice lol. love this truck tho. btw, that guard in front, might i ask its use? and does it affect visibility any? kinda reminds me of a moose bar

  • Comment removed

  • @yamahonkawazuki Originally travelers during the middle ages would keep to the left so their sword arm was closest to any passerby's.

  • @jessehodder whic im assuming would be on the right?, left arm held reins or shield? ill be damned this makes perfect sense. and these countries said hell lets just keep on same side as motorists. why fix it if it isnt broken.

  • @yamahonkawazuki Its to stop stones easily cracking, chipping or smashing the windscreen

  • @bykashka75 idiot its australia

  • @MegaZsolti what, i thought its Africa

  • @bykashka75 wow dude in some countries people drive on the other side of the road

  • @jbrowne97 who came up with that, bs, they need to stop this stupidity

  • @bykashka75 umm idiot

    LOOK AT THE ARROWS NOOB

  • damn i could sleep like a baby in da sleeper that way she sounds that kitty just purrs

  • У него руль справа? %)))

  • can someone tell me how much boost the turbo makes roughly?

  • @454sskilla look mate ranges from a bout 200kPa t0 750 to 800kPa but thats full throttle on hills

  • Between 23-25Psi when running with full load.

  • @454sskilla don't listen to this fatso, its btw 3- 9 psi, depending on the weather conditionsand your sexual activity

  • @454sskilla I had a c16 in high rise and that would do 220kpa boost and it went hard real hard ate 99 % of other trucks out there even if i was 10 ton heavier 2.02 km per litre was average even from day one did just under 500,000 km in it.

  • Now, that is some great driving! Usin' the Jake and downgearing to save the service brakes, then progressive shifting--this guy (or lady) is a gearjammer!

  • dumb ass, it's an automatic

  • sounds pretty good there go.... love the caterpillars

  • who are those people standing in the road

  • Street hawkers, selling fruit.

  • thanks thought they were traffic cops guess i should wear my glasses

  • i'd like to see the looks on their faces when the jakes were on!

  • @spitoinkr - How rude >:/

  • @wiccianway Bitches.

  • my friends dad has a kenworth w 900l and im sure its a C 15 and it has 800hp

  • absolutely nothing sounds like a cat .its so beautiful .i want to get a big c-16 cat engine poster and put it up on my wall

  • You think a C16 is powerful? Dad knows a wood chipper that has an industrial C18that is set at 780 hp stock. That will kick the KTA's cummins ass. Sad, but true.

  • well yeah they have chippers diesel up to 1000 hp in the uk i think.but the only truck engine highway engine ive seen is a 700 hp kw on youtube .but i just love cats no matter what anyone says bad about them .they are powerful torque wise

  • Was that an automatic? It shifted pretty quick.

  • Yep you can see the Smart Shift lever on the right of the column above the steering wheel spoke.

  • Hartruck xDD

  • i counted like 110 gears

  • sounds just like a any old truck with a fked up exhaust... oh and of course the engine brakes were on...

  • best sound ever 5/5

  • quien es el idiota que activa los jake brake con ese pabimento yan mojado eso es lo peor nunca se recomienda hacer esa manibra pero de que suenan de pelos suenan pero en esas condiciones nooooooooooo

  • hey leased2prime shut the fuck up u wouldnt know the first thing about a truck or how 2 drive 1

  • Why dont you want to use the jake on wet or snowy roads????

  • Because of the braking power of the jakes the back wheels of the truck will sometimes lock if the road is wet and slippery. But if you are an experience driver you will immediately "feel" this happen and deactivate the jakes either by depressing the clutch just a quarter of a inch or by switching the jakes off on the dashboard.

  • Thanks for the info!!! nice video. Great sounding truck

  • how do jake brakes work?

is it an oil pressure thing?

(i've never ever driven a truck, but it looks skill intensive and i believe that a well rested trucker is one of the best drivers on the road)

  • Yeah, you're right, it works with oil pressure and once you're drivin' a truck and the oil pressure goes belows normal the first thing to stop working right, is the jake brake. A solenoid on top of the valves is activated and with the power of the oil pressure it closes the outlet valves of the engine and this biuld-up of compressed air in the engine on top of the cylinders is used to retard the engine.

  • love the video of a cat argosy very new love it mate top video trucks love them

  • Yeah, but this "dummy" has been driving for 17 years and over 2.5 million miles without one accident. LOL, go and watch some TV, you fool.

  • Good words :P nice truck

  • ill use the jake all the time even bob tail...in the rain its not too bad, but if its snow, i won't use it :P

  • why not explored the Brazilian market with these machines

  • Calling a TRUCK a "lorry" is about the gayest thing I've ever heard!

  • best jake brake i ever heard

  • South Africa, I feel sorry for all those who live there and try to make a life for themselves. It is a beautiful country in a world of political, criminal and ethnic shit. Be safe out there and enjoy the scenery, some of the earth's best.

  • and as far as the automatics go, i prefer a manual but the automatics weigh less and have less maintainence requirments

  • yer if u geta good one

  • i have a c-15 single turbo with 550hp and 1850trq cat in a 2004 kenworth t-600 and i out pull 515 detroits and 525 isx cummins all day. if that 3406e kept blowing head gaskets more than likely they were not put on right. i have a friend that has a 600 cummins in a 2008 W900L and its making the same torque that i am.

  • who can tell me why those people are standing on the road ??

  • LOL! This is Africa! Peolpe do whatever they want where ever they want. These are actually hawkers selling fruit at a 4-way stop.

  • lol i was sure its Australia ;p but its RSA cuz i cant believe people in for example Zaire drive lorries :D and record movies :D

  • its like a melody... awesome !!

  • id take a Cat anyday over cummings, and i LOVE that exhaust note under load and jakeobs brake is AWSOME.

  • auto's are shit rev out to much get confused on hills cost more to run than good old manual

  • essentially the same as in cars. the roadranger autoshift is quite clever though how it can determine a starting gear from load. but yip, once you know how to use one unless your lazy its just gotta be manual.

  • wow a auto shift cool sound badass listen to that turbo howl heck yeah 5/5

  • elcamino1966350 all i can say is...your ignorant. Cummins is a good diesel but the cat is capable of much more torque and power. You've probably never even sat in control of a big CAT. What you did to reach your conclusion???you must have graduated from WYO Tech of something...LOL!!!

  • i cant get over how australia is so like south africa

  • Buildings, shacks, stadions, skyscrapers, but mostly shacks from the squatters..! Just kiddin'. No, we are supposed to be a 3rd world country. Just not that many two lane highways here as in the USA.

  • whats that cage at the front

  • Stoneguard. It's to protect the windscreen from stones thrown up by other vehicles.

  • Southern Africa looks a bit country. Are there many buildings going up?

  • Go and have a listen then at my other video of the FLD120 with the N14 Cummins. That one's loud going down the mountain pass with the jakes resonating against the side of the mountain. When I drive, I hardly listen to music. I only listen to the engine and the straight pipes. Don't drive so much anymore, but when I do, I prevere to listen to the engine. Then the MP3 player with 6x9's and sub and amp can wait. No substitute for pure hardcore engine noise. Anyway, the CAT will always be my engine.

  • cat engines are overrated and a big piece of shit motor cummins is still makin truck engines. cat is gettin out of the OTR engines in trucks

  • I guess that your the one with the degree, boy! Must have "years" of experience with engines then. Pitty your only wet behind the ears and bad mouthin' other peoples pride and with what real experience?

  • my pa has been drivin for 25 years and i have been drivin for 5 years the old cats were good and strong. we owned 1 3406E and yes it was a big piece of shit, kept blowin head gaskets. and series 60 are good on mpg but not really great for power and torque. the ISX does have good mpg, great hp, and great torque

  • That's what I'd expect someone without a CAT to say. CAT engines are the best. Don't get me wrong, Cummins and Detroit also make very good engines, but there's no way you can insult a CAT!

  • Sounds great!

IS that a PTO air lever at left?

  • Nope, that's the handbrake lever on the far left of the dash. In South Africa the SABS does not allow the red and yellow handbrake knobs that the truck is fitted in the USA.

  • Ok, thanks. Now that I think about it, I think I have seen that type of lever used on the Renault trucks here in the US, but I am not sure - memory is fading.

Tell you what though, if you have a 5.1 surround sound with a powerful subwoofer, to listen to this, the bass frequency would offer a feel like you were sitting on an Harley Davidson while listening to your progressive shifting.

Comes through loud and clear - I've always been a CAT man myself. But an ol' Detroit can be fun, too.

  • sounds sweet.

  • you showed those guys a real jake brake 5* man great video keep making them!

  • Fitted with a Smart Shift gearstick (righthandside of stearing wheel) from Freightliner. Can either shift manual or automatic. Is on manual now and will automatically activate the jake brake between gears if you shift two gears at one time, to retart the engine enough to smoothly shift into the next gear. Will damage your valves eventually if using the jakes between gears.

  • why all this gearing?

does the engine have a 200rpmband?

  • Will get anything between 5.1 and 6.3 all depending on the load and the road. Keep in mind that our wheight limit on 6 axles is 48620kg (106964lbs) and on 7 axles 56000kg. This Argosy pulls a tri axle fridge and is loaded to the limit most of the times. Have to keep the revs to 1350 at 88km/h (55mph) and drive though there's an egg under the accellarator. Once you hammer these big C16's you will get around 4.4mpg. But its sometimes worth it when passing other slower trucks or even a car.

  • you keep the RPM's in the powerband nice! What kind of MPG are you getting with that C-16?
